There’s something pleasingly British about this large home. It's part of a 200-year-old building in red-brick Mayfair, and contains an intricate fireplace, bookshelves, vintage pottery and even royal family-themed teacups. Space is another stand-out feature, and so too style: each room has a different colour theme, while original floorboards are found throughout. An excellent modern and light-filled kitchen also impresses. The home lacks a TV, but who needs one when you have the antique shelves stacked with literature and art books to choose from – those comfy armchairs are calling out for stolen moments with your new favourite read. Outside, you're perfectly located for afternoon strolls in either Hyde Park (six-minute walk) or Regent's Park (twenty-five minutes wander). If shopping's more your bag, bustling Oxford Street and vibrant Piccadilly Circus are also under twenty minutes (on foot) from your elegant new home-from-home.
Home truths: *The fourth bedroom is much smaller than the others – the smallish bed is tucked under a steeply sloping ceiling, so mind your head
*There is no TV but there are plenty of good books
*There are lots of stairs to contend with so be prepared to carry your luggage up on arrival
* Since we created the original floor plan, the third bedroom now has a bunk bed (a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top)
*At maximum capacity, two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed
