The Linney is a semi-detached cottage in a rural setting in Chilsworthy, with views over the Tamar Valley. The cottage has a king-size double bedroom on the first floor, with the rest of the accommodation on the ground floor and comprising a shower room, kitchen with dining area and a sitting room. Outside is off road parking for one car, and a garden with deck and furniture. The Linney is perfectly placed for enjoying the Tamar Valley, Dartmoor National Park and so many more of Devon and North Cornwall's attractions.

Area
The small rural Cornish village of Chilsworthy is situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. The village offers a welcoming pub and walks directly down to the River Tamar and the village of Gunnislake. The Tamar Valley boasts breathtaking landscape, and within reach are Cornish coasts and pretty fishing harbours.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Just back from a week here. Beautifully clean, very nicely set up with all the household equipment you might want. Smooth arrival process and very kind hosts. Parking space and approach a little bit tight if your car is larger than average, but still manageable. Everything worked, all recently decorated I would think as obviously well looked after. Hosts live close by but very unobtrusive and on hand if needed. Supply of tea, sugar, nice biscuits and cleaning materials/toilet roll/silver foil was a nice start off. Felt very safe here. Local pub great as is Rifle Volunteer. Everyone so friendly and a real sense of community. Get out and about, no matter how tempting it is to stay and chillax at the house. Joe to visit again next year.

Absolutely super accommodation, everything provided.. The shower is the best ever! Minus points: Access by car is rather tricky, especially at night (Two very tight hairpin bends in last 100 yards). Kitchen rather cold, due to radiator issue.

Cottage was as advertised.. Lots to do in the local area both indoors and outdoors. Close to some of Cornwall’s (and Devon’s) good days out (most within an hours drive). Friendly local pub with excellent real ales and good quality food

The owners were very friendly and helpful, particularly in explaining the various features of the cottage and recommending attractions in the area in addition to a number of useful brochures The cottage was most comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, lounge, spacious bedroom, shower etc.. , all with an exceptional level of cleanliness. Everything about this cottage has been finished to a high standard and we lacked for nothing. The views across the Tamar valley are quite wonderful and easily accessible certainly for walkers, cyclists etc.

The Linney was perfect.. Hosts were near enough if we had any problems which we didn't but were also there to give us any tips regarding outings and places around to eat and drink. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

My wife and myself were looking forward to this trip to Cornwall after about a decade and a half and this property gave us the chance to fall in love with the county all over again.. The hosts and owners of The Linney made us very welcome and Rob gave us plenty of ideas as to what to do and places to visit. The view over the Tamar valley is outstanding and added to the charm of the converted barn which is considerable indeed. Needless to say that it will not take us another decade to return to Cornwall, this place just begs for a return visit

If you are looking for a nice quite cottage then this is the one for you.. No noisy neighbours so you can relax. Overall the cottage is very well presented and the quality of the fixtures and fitting make a difference ie a really comfy sofa and quality utensils in the kitchen. Great shower too. Local pub is in walking distance and serves up a nice steak. There are some nice walks in the area which take you past old mine chimneys, atmospheric and photogenic. Falling to sleep listening to the owls hoot was lovely.

The Linney is a wonderful place to stay with a well equipped kitchen/diner, spacious and airy living room with excellent views across the Tamar to Dartmoor, very neat bathroom and a comfortable bedroom.. There are plenty of plug sockets and good WiFi. Gunnislake is a couple of miles away and there is good access to the A390 east towards Tavistock and Dartmoor or west towards Bodmin, Liskeard, Fowey etc. Chilsworthy. The White Hart is a couple of hundred yards away and serves good food and a variety of ales in a very friendly atmosphere. There are good walks locally, we did a loop along the Tamar and via Gunnislake. The hosts are welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. We really enjoyed our week and I think we will be back.

We enjoyed our stay.. We had been let down by another cottage company but Sykes managed to arrange a stay for us within hours so that we were not homeless. The owners welcomed us to their cottage were very helpful allowing us to extend our stay at the nd of the week because of the snow. The cottage is well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Amazing views. Would recommend it.

A very well found cottage with fantastic views over the Tamar Valley. The owners Rob and Jane were very welcoming and helpful. A good Christmas break and the mince pies and fizz were an added bonus. The cottage was cosy and quiet. Good local pub within a minutes walk overall an amazing location.

What a beautiful cottage. It had everything we needed and more. The pictures don't do it justice and it was a lot bigger inside than we expected. Everything is finished to a high standard and the owners have thought of every eventuality when kitting it out. The cream tea and bottle of chilled Cava on arrival were a great touch and a real treat after a lengthy journey. Rob and Jane were great hosts too. There when we needed them, but otherwise left us in peace to enjoy the cottage and stunning views. We spent 2 wonderful weeks here and would recommend the cottage and location to anyone wishing to unwind in comfort and style.

For the type of holiday we wanted this cottage fitted the bill perfectly.. it was private, it was clean, it was finished to a very high spec with a fabulous shower [although my wife struggled to switch it on and off ]- a well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable lounge with TV, DVD player and a good range of DVDs a CD player with a good range of CDs and a light and airy bedroom. We enjoyed a whole day on the private decking. Our hosts were very friendly and gave us some sound advice but were never in our face. The cottage was centrally positioned for a tour of all the eastern side of Cornwall and the views over the Tamar Valley were to die for. Our only problem was the reception on the TV - sometimes it was impossible to watch it. I would have thought that if we had reported it even that would have been rectified but it didn't bother us a lot - we can watch TV in the house. Overall a very pleasant week was had and if we came to this area again we would return to this cottage.

Beautifully appointed cottage in an area which would support all sorts of holidays.. I.e. Active lots of walking & outdoor pursuits locally, historical interest Tavistock lovely old town & several interesting properties to visit nearby. Or just have a rest cottage in a quiet and peaceful spot. Would firmly recommend.

I would suggest alternative directions from Gunnislake to Chilsworthy, continuing on through Gunnislake passing Gunnislake Railway Station then you will see signs for Chilsworthy and further signs to guide you.. The published directions take you through very narrow lanes and there are no visible signs for Chilsworthy. Other than this minor comment the peace and tranquillity that the cottage and views offer are memorable and Rob and Jane are the perfect hoasts, a five star experience.

This cottage was clean modern and very good, cream teas milk all supplied by the helpful landlord and his kind wife. The views were fantastic, could view the whole of the Tamar river valley. It was central to all sites ie. Eden project, Morllwen cove, and much more.
