Today it is a quiet village which gives visitors easy access to the Northumberland Coast, the Cheviot Hills and the Scottish Borders. Belford itself has a variety of smaller interesting shops, as well as the usual shops and facilities available in a large village. During the month of August, a continental market takes place in the centre of the village and gives it a real carnival atmosphere. Overlooked by the magnificent 18th century Belford Hall and only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village is Belford Golf Club, a 9-hole golf course which features a driving range, motorised cart hire and excellent bar facilities.

Four great nights in a beautiful cottage. One or two niggles were dealt with immediately by the owners, personally. In fact as a result, we got to meet the owners of this amazing place and hear their interesting and awesome history. Thank you!

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this amazing property and it’s surroundings.. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the owners were on hand to deal with any questions we had. The property is situated in a perfect location from which to explore the surrounding countryside and the beautiful beaches nearby. Understandably we were unable to use the snooker room owing to Covid restrictions which was disappointing, but did not spoil our stay. WiFi connectivity was limited as mentioned in the property description, and this was an issue for one of our party who had to unexpectedly undertake some work during the week. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others & would like to thank the owners for a most enjoyable and relaxing stay.

There showers were very intermitant wether we got hot water or not, even not at peak times.. It was advertised as having internet this was not the case it picked up the hall internet if you were stood next to the receiver but even then it wasn't strong enough to do anything with a number of guests were supposed to attend online meetings whilst we were away and couldn't get online. My grandson needed to chat with his learning difficulty lady and wasn't able to get online. The main cooker in the large kitchen was very slow to cook anything meals took twice as long to cook. which meant the first few nights we didn't eat until 9pm.

We have just returned from a fantastic break where we stayed at The Coach House at Middleton Hall for a week. The property is a very large 5 bed property set within the grounds of Middleton Hall. Upon arrival, the house was very clean and a detailed welcome pack was placed on the table, within it was a comprehensive guide to the workings of the property as well as a list of great places to go and visit and activities to do. The house is large, with 5 large double bedrooms each with an ensuite. There is a very large kitch/diner which comfortably seats 10 people, in addition there are 2 large sitting rooms and a playroom for the children. Outside, The Coachhouse is set within 30 acres of parkland, which includes 2 lakes and a play area for the children. There are large woods adjoining the property so we enjoyed exploring the woods. The oweners are fantastic people and were always on hand if required, and they let us know some more great activities to enjoy, including the model railway at Ford and Etal which my daughter enjoyed. There are a number of fantastic beaches within a 15 minite drive of the house, as well as a number of great local pubs/ restaurnats. So if your looking for a fantastic relaxing holiday with lots to do and experiance, then this is certainly the place for you!

We spent last weekend here as a group of 29, staying in the hall and coach house. To be able to experience and have use of the entire venue was amazing. Facilities were suitable to self cater and have caterers in. We really couldn't fault anything. Thanks so much.

The owner was very welcoming, gave a lovely tour of her home and then left us to our celebrations.. She couldnt have been a better host. The house was magnificent and ideal for our party celebrations over the week. Great facilities, comfortable and warm and charming and picturesque setting. We will definitely return for another week.

Incredible place (Middleton Hall) would definitely go again if we can find enough people to go with!

A warm welcome to a very grand holiday 'cottage' set in delightful surroundings! Unbelievable amount of space - the entrance hall is larger than a badminton court and the dining table could easily seat 24. Our party of 15 adults was accommodated with ease. Exceptionally comfortable and attractive furnishings and decor. Kept beautifully clean and warm - especially so for such a large building. Masses of space for car-parking. Very easy to follow directions from A1, north of Alnwick. Plenty of interesting places to visit within and hour's drive or bus ride.

This is just absolutely amazing, I just Wowed! For the whole time I was there. Everything is stunning the rooms, the house, the grounds. Every room is just so beautiful, you would be happy to stay in any of them. We were there for a friends birthday and it was just the perfect venue for many friends and family, you could gather or you could read your book peacefully in a corner with a stunning view. We are working out how we can stay again because we loved it so much. The situation is ideal too near to so many beautiful landmarks, Holy Island, Bamborough, Waren Mill, Ross Sands and so much more. We used a caterer from Berwick Ruth and he food was so good. Joan was so friendly and helpful thank you. If you can book this place you will love it.

The Hall was fantastic with magnificent rooms and everything else you could wish for. The gardens were beautiful and well kept. All of our party were impressed with the property and would certainly come back. For such a big house it was exceptionally warm inside at all times.

We absolutely loved The Hall - it is huge and spacious and decorated to a generous standard. The bedrooms are particularly gorgeous. We were a party of 19 - 10 adults and 9 children aged from 9 years to 7 months but there was so much space and so many sitting (and playing) areas we did not feel crowded at all. We will come back!

In a beautiful situation with lots to do. The house itself is such a pleasant environment to be in - even for 20+ guests over several days - that it was just as nice to be indoors on a rainy day. I really can't think of a single criticism, everything was as close to perfect as you could reasonably expect. Really appreciated the cleanliness the well-equipped kitchen. The garden surrounding walks were stunning. Loved the furnishings, especially the largest bedrooms and large living room! We hope to return before too long.
