Took my mum and 96 year old grandma to visit my sister in Pembrokeshire, this was the perfect stay. The host was lovely and had put a chair in the bathroom for my grandma and had left us some welsh cakes which we all enjoyed. The cottage was great and we enjoyed the log fire 2 nights, it had everything we needed and our stay was made perfect. Great location, lovely garden, easy to find. We would definitely stay here again when visiting my sister, thank you so much.

We love staying here so much we've been 4 or 5 times in 2 years.. The cottages are lovel and extremely clean, Cheryl and her family are very friendly and can't do enough for you, and the location is central enough in Pembrokeshire that most places are within easy reach. We'll be back next year.

The cottage is within the owners own farm and they are your neighbour which is very helpful if any problems arise.. The owner went beyond expectations to help and make a lovely experience here, there were fresh flowers, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and Welsh cakes on arrival. The cottage was very high spec with everything you need to feel at home. I would definitely stay here again.

The Duck House is a charming "Home from Home" self catering property, it is so easy to feel very comfortable there, its rural, but not isolated.. Very cosy with the logburner on or you can just turn the central heating on if you prefer. The furnishings are good quality and a real bonus has to be the comfy beds. There's free wi-fi, use of washing machine and tumble drying too. The owners Paul and Cheryl are very welcoming and hospitable, please keep in mind that due to close proximity to livestock, dogs must be kept on leads, at all times, which is understandable. We would very happily return and are very happy to recommend. Thank you Paul and Cheryl.

Had such a fabulous time staying here.. Cheryl was brilliant, advising on interesting places to visit. The cottage was amazing, The Woodburner made the cottage very cosy. I could not fault this place. watching the birds on the feeder early morning - astounded to see a woodpecker every morning amongst the other visiting birds. Cheryl and her husband were amazing and friendly without being overbearing. Fraggle - the Deerhound such a beautiful animal and so placid. The welcome back was greatly received after a sever hour drive. Teddy, Ava and Peggy also enjoyed their treats. Although, the weather was cold and sometimes raining, we still managed to walk 8 to 12 miles a day. Duck cottage is lovely homely and welcoming place to stay. I will most definitely be visiting again. Ps Teddy is fine - needs a special diet. Lost a lot of weight due to infection.

We stayed here 15-22 June 2019. The Duck House is the perfect place to stay if you want to discover south west wales. Set around 15 mins drive from Haverfordwest, the Duck House is one of a collection of farm buildings belonging to Newhouse Farm. There are 3 other holiday cottages in the same location varying in sizes plus the farmhouse itself. In the Duck House, there is a large lounge dining area, 2 large settees (2 and 3 seater, the 3 seater converts to a bed), A large chair, log burning stove, TV (with HDMI input) and DVD player, lots of dvds are also available for the cottages to share (stored in a central location)& Dining table with 4 chairs. In the kitchen, there’s a fridge, microwave, built in oven electric hob, kettle, toaster and just about every cooking utensil you would need. Each bedroom (one double and one twin) has at least one wardrobe with drawers for storage. The bathroom is nicely finished with Bath/shower combo, sink, toilet and towel radiator. Each cottage kind of has its own place for 1 car (we never had difficulty finding a spot). There is also a large field to play football on and several traditional outdoor picnic tables if you wanted to spend the afternoon on the grass. About 2 miles off the main road, the road turning goes onto a single track road, so just be mindful of other cars or people walking. There is a approx 2.5 mile loop from the farm which is great for going for a run or walking the dog. Steepish incline on the way back so nice for a bit of exercise. The host was lovely, explained everything really well, but the welcome book has everything you would need to know, including lighting the log burner. The whole place was incredibly clean, the water comes from a borehole, is treated and just as good as bottled mineral water. Each cottage has free WiFi (there is a Ubiquiti Unifi access point) giving really fast WiFi throughout.

What a lovely cottage! It was everything we wished for and more. Although it was off the beaten track, it was close to the main roads and central to many of the touristy places. The cottage was beautiful and clean. It was cosy and warm and had everything you would need. Cheryl is an accommodating and welcoming owner who is keen for her guests to have a great stay. We would love to return. Highly recommended.

Lovely little cottage, only downside was lack of (personal) out door space, and the view of Tyre Mountain™️ Out of the living room window.. The cottage opposite looks directly into this one, so again, not much in the way of privacy.. A couple of tweaks, and it could’ve been perfect. Nice enough tho..

Lovely place to stay.. Perfect location to explore Pembrokeshire from, near all amenities but with utter peace and quiet.

Lovely, clean property, but, much smaller than expected .. Using wide angle lenses for photos can be a tad misleading. I have bruises on my legs from continually bashing them on the end of the bed as there was barely room to move in the master bedroom ! Best equipped kitchen we’ve seen in a holiday cottage for a long time. New knives needed as all are blunt, unable to cut cheese or fresh bread ! Beautiful modern bathroom.

We had a wonderful stay at The Duck House, it is in a lovely quiet location but a great base for exploring Pembrokeshire.. The cottage had everything we could need and our hosts were so friendly and thoughtful throughout, it was a pleasure to be their guest. The laundry complete with stacks of games, books and dvds along with local info was great to find though not really needed as the weather was so good when we were there! Thank you for having us!

(This is taken from the review prepared for HomeAway.. Co.uk) The cottage was much more attractive than the photo suggests, being set in a courtyard (with other cottages) with views down the valley to the rear and across the courtyard to a field at the front. We particularly appreciated our welcome, the starter pack of coffee/tea/sugar etc and the vase of tulips which lasted all week! We were also pleasantly surprised that all heating was included in the price. The twin bedroom and lounge were of a good size; the double bedroom smaller but perfectly adequate and all were attractively decorated. There was reasonable storage space for holiday use and the washing facilities next door would be particularly useful for a family. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and well-appointed. There was a little table for sitting out immediately outside the front door, and family tables/benches in the field nearby. It is a little off the beaten track, although we soon got used to that. Otherwise it was well-situated for exploring Pembrokeshire being close to the A40 and the A487. Parking was a little tight - especially since we all appeared to have large cars! Wifi is currently being installed but we received a 4G signal which was fine in the meantime. We were two elderly relatives and the weather was excellent: a family in a week of bad weather might find it a little more restrictive. However, we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend it.

Nice cottage.. Very clean and well equipped. Loved the log fire made the cottage extra cosy. There was no private garden. We had our dog with us. There was a field on site but we had to keep the dog on leash at all times due to owners pets. It was a shame that our dog couldn't run around to exercise and there was no walking routes nearby without driving (nearest park was 3 miles away).

I loved this little retreat.. Had everything I wanted/needed. Not over fussy but comfortable - and I felt at home. Loved the calm of the place. Surroundings are quiet and relaxing. Perfect for myself and my dog. The owners are lovely- around if you need them. Thank you for a super few days.

August 2016
Very friendly welcome from Cheryl.. Lots of extras available - toys, washing, maps etc. The field was great even though my sons are adults now! Helpful advice about walking. One slight niggle - the saucepans were very small. There were only 3 of us and the largest pan was only just big enough for pasta for one meal. For six the pans would have been much too small. Otherwise, all excellent. Thank you.

The cottage is in a good location for visiting all areas. We enjoyed the warm welcome from the owners. This was a very quiet and restful cottage with everything you could possibly need. The cottage was warm and comfortable. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and would return.

The Duck House was a fantastic place for my toddler to run around in and for me to not stress and worry about accidents on stairs. We had a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

May 2012
What a find! A spacious, comfortable rental. Everything needed was provided, even a central repository of maps & local guides for loan. The cottage was warm, plenty of space and had ample comfy chairs in which to sit and relax or read (a common rental cottage failing but not here). The only bugbears were the small wall-mounted TV - a bit of a squint from the sofa - and lighting not so good for reading in the lounge, but that's nit-picking really. The kitchen was generously equipped - none of the usual 2 mugs, 4 spoons 4 plates routine which requires constant washing up. Spacious bathroom with a great over-bath shower and nice big softy towels. Outside there was lots of space with picnic tables, a BBQ and space for kids to run around. Sufficient off-road parking in the courtyard. Pleasant helpful owners on-site to sort out any problems or questions which arose. A country location on a quiet lane with almost no passing traffic but conveniently only a few minutes from the A40 and Haverfordwest so it's a good central base to explore Pembrokeshire.
