Area
The village of Leighton goes back many centuries and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1087. It is only four miles from the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, home of the world's first bridge to be constructed of iron, built between 1777 and 1779. The Ironbridge Gorge is situated in a beautiful wooded valley and the village of Leighton is home to a variety of public houses, restaurants, tea-rooms and shops, and a collection of separately themed locations make up the Ironbridge Museums. The National Trust Properties of Attingham Hall and Park are close by as well as the fascinating Wroxeter Roman City and Vineyard. With a wealth of historical attractions and a host of outdoor pursuits, this area has a lot to offer visitors at any time of year.

Region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Lovely cosy cottage in an excellent location, very peaceful but plenty to see nearby.. The owners were always on hand and extremely helpful, one of the highlights was having their dog Molly pop in for a daily visit. We will definitely be booking this cottage again

The cottage is in an idyllic situation nestled at the foot of the Wrekin.. The whole complex was well set out and we were made very welcome by the owners (including cake). We had a wonderful holiday in stunning countryside and would definitely return to the area again.

A very clean and comfortable cottage.. A working farm but we were well looked after and the owners were available if required. A beautiful part of Shropshire, sitting at the base of the Wrekin.

The cottage didn't seem to have been properly serviced.. Items were missing and it was not cleaned. The property was at the end of a very long single track road with no other access.

THE FARM IS A WORKING FARM AND THE FARMER IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL IN SUGGESTING PLACES TO VISIT AND LOCAL AMENITIES.. THE ONLY DRAWBACK ARE THE POTHOLES ON THE TRACK LEADING TO THE FARM. OVERALL, IT WAS A VERY GOOD TIME.

We stayed here in late January for 10 days as we had to be in the area for family and did not fancy the time in a hotel (or the cost). We followed the directions from the website to the letter and found the farm straight away and were greated by Derek and Molly the Collie. The cottage was all ready for us and warm and we had a lovely homemade cake awaiting our arrival. All the utensils required were in the kitchen and the on site laundry facility proved so useful too. The area is central to not only the ironbridge gorge museums but also the shopping areas of Telford and Shrewsbury a little further away. The Wrekinis a short drive away for walking and the lanes are relatively quiet too. All I all we wiould highly recommend the dairy

The Dairy was perfect for the two of us.. Just the right size and had everything we needed for our stay. The surrounding area is lovely, can't wait to see it again in the summer months. The owner was very helpful and accommodating and considering it was a working farm there was no disturbance from the daily activities.
