The photos on your Web site really didn't do the Dairy justice and this beautiful quaint little romantic bolthole exceeded all of our expectat ions.. The hosts - Caroline and Tim have really excelled in creating such an amazing and opulent space and they were so welcoming as was the gorgeous little town of Haworth - we will definitely be returning

Everything about our stay at The Dairy was great.. Thank you to Caroline and Tim for a fab place. There was really good communication to make sure we knew how to get to The Dairy making it a nice relaxed journey there. The Dairy is lovely. Brilliant open fire and the Aga make it very cosy - we didn't leave most nights and just curled up on the sofa. And, we too every opportunity to spend time n the huge copper bath with a glass of wine. Pure bliss. We would love to stay again and recommend a visit to anyone. Some lovely walks close by. We particularly enjoyed walking across the hills to Hebden Bridge (in the rain) and getting the bus back.

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely weekend at The Dairy.. The owners Caroline and Tim are friendly and thoughtful and have put a lot of care and love into this quirky, cosy little cottage that's bursting with character. Caroline thoughtfully text me to let me know the cottage would be ready early which I really appreciated...especially as she was on her way to an important job interview in Leeds. There is nothing worse, or that feels more wasteful than waiting until 3pm to start your holiday when in fact your accommodation is sat waiting for you at 1pm! Bravo! I wish more holiday owners would take the time to do this. The cottage itself is even lovelier than the photos. Tim and Caroline have recycled, repurposed and built just about everything from antiques and found objects...and it's all been done with love and attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble. There was plenty of wood for the fire and the offer of baking trays and tins to use in the Aga if I need them. I'm quite picky but there was nothing to fault at all with this romantic little hideaway. The bed was comfortable, the sofas were plump and supportive and there were lots of fluffy towels for us to use. With the Aga gently warming the kitchen and the wood burning stove in the lounge, the cottage was cosy and warm. Perfectly located down a quiet lane with views of the surrounding hills, minutes away from the Worth Valley Railway on one side and a few minutes walk away from the high street and the famous Bronte Parsonage on the other. The cherry on the cake was a jar of Carolines homemade chutney...yummy! Thank you for a lovely anniversary weekend guys. ;)

We've just returned from a 2 week holiday staying in beautiful Haworth in the delightful Dairy at Mill Cottage.. The Dairy has all mod cons but with a twist that make you feel like you had turned back time to over a hundred years ago. Tim and Caroline have spent over 4 years lovingly converting this beautiful cottage and we were amazed at all the quirky items and period pieces that they have used. A lovely large open fireplace with a fuel burner, to little signs and unusual lighting fitments. A magnificent copper bath in the bedroom plus a large oak beam across the bedroom ceiling. The AGA in the kitchen has been converted to electric which is connected to solar panels and is left on permanently to keep the kitchen and cottage warm and cosy...especially in the morning when you are having your breakfast and the roof light in the kitchen also lets in the sunshine. This is also very welcoming when you've been out walking the beautiful but blustery moors and dales.. Haworth is lovely but very hilly! But having walked up the cobbled and very steep main street to the top to visit shops and pubs for lunch, dinner or a pint or 2 (lovely food at the Old White Lion) it is good to know that it is all downhill from there back to the Dairy!! The railway station with steam trains is about 3 minutes walk from the Dairy and when sat in the kitchen you can hear it whistle and puff its way down the line..which brings back fond memories from our childhood days! There is plenty to do and see and Tim and Caroline have a rack with lots of leaflets and maps about places of interest in this area. We visited Skipton, which is not far plus Malham Cove and Tarn are both beautiful places to visit for a good walk or ramble and again a pub lunch..as done by Julia Bradbury of television fame! Near Malham itself is The Top Farm farmshop as advertised by Tom Kerridge and is well worth a visit. The food in the cafe is very good and the shop has lots of unusual items of food plus your everyday stuff like bread and butter plus as you sit in the cafe, on a clear day, you can see Malham Cove. All in all we had a lovely time at the Dairy and would recommend it to anyone wanting a base to visit in that area. Tim and Caroline are a lovely couple, very friendly and only to pleased to help make your stay very special...***Would like to thank Caroline for the delicious homemade chutney which we devoured with some sheeps cheese and porkpie from the farmshop!!...

A beautiful unique cottage which has been decorated with care and love.. It was very comfortable and had everything you could need. Fab location in a quiet spot but easy walking distance from the centre of Haworth.

June 2018
Although restoration of property has been lovingly undertaken, it’s beauty has been hidden by an over indulgence in ‘quirky’ accessories that just cluttered up all available space.. The kitchens modern gadgetry included induction hob impossible to get working and a kettle so heavy that two hands needed to lift! Two very deep, age worn stone steps from kitchen to rest of property are also not good for more senior arthritic holidaymakers!

April 2018
We had a fabulous stay at The Dairy.. Caroline and Tim were so welcoming and friendly, they added to our trip away. The interior of The Dairy is simply stunning, and we found ourselves constantly discovering new antiques, and repurposed features around the cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. Tim and Caroline also helped point us in the direction of some of the local antique sellers that they regularly use, in order for us to search out some new bits for ourselves. Absolutely brilliant week away for us and we would definitely like to return again.

This cottage ticks all the boxes for a romantic break. Tim and Caroline have left nothing out. This is a very well kept quirky cottage. We both loved our stay and will be returning in the future. A must stay for anyone who likes romantic and quirky and very accessible to the bus stop, train station and Harworth high street.

The old dairy was an amazing cottage- quirky and fun in it's decor and furnishings , with the most incredible attention to detail.. The snowy weather conditions meant that we put the log burning stove to excellent use and the copper bath with trombone fittings was just incredible . We will be recommending this place to all our friends and family and will definitely be back !! Thank you to Caroline and Tim too for making our stay so enjoyable .

I have stayed in various cottages across the country and never stayed in a cottage as beautiful.. Both Caroline and Tim were fantastic, Tim helped me to move my car on the ice outside the cottage and Caroline texted to ensure I had everything I needed. The cottage was beautiful crafted, and the location, were both above expectation. I will be visiting this cottage again.

I’m one of those people who is not that easy to please, but as soon as I opened the front door of The Dairy I knew we were in for a treat.. You can feel how much thought and care has gone into creating this cosy retreat, and for us it was a perfect Christmas getaway. With the attentive hosts Caroline and Tim living next door, any little thing you might need is only a text away; it seems they actually can’t do enough for you. On the whole, it felt more like going to stay with friends than a holiday rental.

You’ll have gathered from the previous review that this is not your average cottage to rent. I’m one of those people who is not that easy to please, but as soon as I opened the front door of The Dairy I knew we were in for a treat. You can feel how much thought and care has gone into creating this cosy retreat, and for us it was a perfect Christmas getaway. Feedback for The Dairy, Haworth.. Starting from our receipt of the directions and instructions from Caroline and a Tim. These were concise and accurate. I spoke to Tim before we set off, ( to check whether it was a freezer and a fridge; it is a fridge with an icebox which was ample for our needs. (What a pleasant man.) When we arrived the parking for our mid size car (Suzuki cross over) was easy and next to the kitchen door. Access to the keys was via the coded lock box in the adjacent doorway. Two mortice keys because the kitchen door is a two piece “stable door”. On entry to the kitchen the whole cottage smelled nice and clean ( with that “ comfortable feeling”) It lived up to the pictures but they do not do it justice. We have stayed in a lot of cottages where things were not finished off, I.e. loose taps, shower doors not fitting fully, there is none of that here. Things are solidly fastened. The fittings are good quality. There is even an ironing board with an iron tucked to the side of the wardrobe should you require them. Tim and Caroline could not have been more helpful or considerate. They were not intrusive but they obviously cared about our having a nice break. ( a neighbour doing building work had to turn off the water supply for a little while but Tim and Caroline brought us bottles of water round, unbidden, beforehand. ) We did not use the bath, but it looks lovely. I am quite large 6’2 and sixteen stone so I like a good bed. The bed was very adequate and comfortable. The toilet is solid and steady. The shower cubicle is big enough for me and the shower water delivery was plenty. There is plenty of hot water and the shower thermostat works very easily, but you need to turn the shower on a little while before it achieves its set temperature which does not then fluctuate. There is an easy to use thermostat in the bedroom which allows you to regulate the heating throughout the cottage to your taste throughout the day, unlike some other cottages who assume, wrongly, that you won’t need heat during the daytime. The towels and bedding, along with the furnishings are very good quality. There is a low beam in the bedroom and the bathroom door is low but they are well padded and “sign posted”. Sitting on the sofa in front of the fire ( easy to light, draws well and doesn’t smoke like some other cottages. ) watching a film then the football was my idea of heaven. ( we do not drink alcohol but Yorkshire tea and Taylor’s coffee help with the experience.) We visited the Bronte museum and the church, my wife was thrilled. But “Hilly Haworth” lived up to its name. We had a meal with friends in the Fleece, it was very good and the pub is a really traditional one, well worth a visit. ( four meals from the specials board plus four puddings £57.) We walked back in the dark with owls calling in the trees, it was really nice. The Villette cafe bakery near the church does lovely Yorkshire shortcrust pasties, bread ( the whole meal uncut tastes very good,) and cakes. The fish and chips nearby are good. To go to this area you turn right out of the kitchen door, fit and turn on your oxygen mask and good shoes. If you turn left you go downhill over the railway gantry and there is a Spar convenience store for milk, papers, magazines and groceries. It has a free to use atm. You get a lovely view of the Worth Valley train station there. The fish and chip shop nearby is fine as well. Finally, a few things that others may like to know. Our two phones, one Vodafone and one EE worked very well in the cottage. I brought some clerical work with me and the lighting and seating arrangements were fine for this. ( walking up to the post office with the paperwork for posting in the rain was “character building” once my breathing got back to normal. ) reading in bed was lovely, plenty of lights and a nice padded headboard. There is a tv in the bedroom but we didn’t use it. The sofas are very comfortable and not too low. The tv in the living room was big enough and had spare HDMI ports. I like to use nowtv for films, these worked flawlessly. I also brought my Chromecast which allowed me to “ cast” to the tv and watch the Saturday match on bt sport and the midweek European matches. All the matches worked seamlessly with no buffering so I assume an Amazon firestick or Netflix accounts would as well. The Wi-fi works very well throughout the cottage. Thank you Caroline and Tim.

The Dairy is an amazing holiday home, which has had a lot of thought and effort put into it. Quirky yet traditional the cottage feels like something out of a nostalgic dream. Ornamented with brass instruments, old technology and vintage light fittings it has a unique cosy charm yet hidden under the aesthetics you will find that it provides for your holiday needs. It is warm, functional and practical. Towels and bedding are of good quality fabric and the overall attention to detail is very good in the whole cottage. The bed is really comfortable and there is no noise so any sleepless nights will be down to insomnia rather than surroundings! The bath is a great addition to the cottage- I did find that at 6 foot I could actually lay in it and be mostly covered in water, which is not an experience I normally get. My wife, however, found that whenever she tried to lay back she slid right in. An optional bath mat to prevent shorter folk sliding into the depths would be a nice addition. We met owner Tim on the last day and he was a very nice chap and obviously takes a lot of pride in the place. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I have just returned home from our week stay at ‘The Dairy’ holiday cottage. I say holiday cottage but that would not do it justice as it may blend into the many ‘Holiday Cottages’ on the Sykes web site from which we booked it. It is more of an enchanting couples retreat, simply beautiful and magical in every way. We chose the cottage after looking at the pictures on the website however even these do not do it justice. On entering the cottage your first impressions are WOW isn’t this lovely, we have picked a good one here’ After unpacking and getting to grips with everything such as the fire, stove, Arga and so forth you then get to look around and really start to appreciate all the thought that has gone into making this place truly enchanting. It is unique in every way as most of the fixtures and fitting are individual and hand made. It’s fun everywhere you look, there is even a trumpet above the cooker. I don’t know why but everything just works. This is where Captain Nemo must chill out and write his books when he is not on his submarine. The location really couldn’t be better as it is fairly private sharing the landscape with just a few other individual houses just off the beaten track, private enough to feel like a getaway but just a short stroll into Haworth. 3 minutes down the hill and over the steam railway bridge and you are in the main village area where there is a convenience store and a few pubs and takeaways. If you go 3 minutes in the other direction up the hill you arrive at Hayworth old village street. This is beautiful and full of old quirky shops, cafes, restraints and pubs. Now I normally like to keep myself to myself when we go away so as to chill and recharge. ‘The Dairy’ really is a romantic cottage, so just perfect for spending some quality time together with my lovely wife. It has a really comfy bed, two large sofas, a big copper bath with champagne flutes and a roaring log burner which keeps the cottage really toasty. We got to say hi to Tim and Caroline the owners who lovingly restored the cottage for many years before allowing lucky individuals to rent it out as a getaway. They live nearby but completely keep out of your way for privacy, yet are on hand in case you need anything and we found them to be a lovely accommodating couple. For instance if you run out of logs for the log burner instead of having to traipse into the local village and pick some up, which we have had to do with cottages in the past, Tim will quietly leave you some outside the front door. If you get a chance say Hi to them as they can tell you all about the 15th century cottage. Try the front door bell – Its hilarious. All in all our stay could not have been more perfect. Lovely Cottage, Lovely place, and would definitely goo back.

There has been a lot of thought and attention given in creating this cottage. The design in every room gives it an eccentric feel. It's very quirky and at the same time very very comfortable. It's a great size for two people to chill out. With two large sofas it means you can have one each! The bath tub is fantastic. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning. The location is great, very near to the town and other local places of interest.
