Many beautiful Georgian buildings date back to the town's heyday as a social hub in the 18th century. The town has maintained many of its historic buildings, including restaurants and hotels.  Those who would rather spend their time outdoors can easily reach the Dove and Manifold Valleys and Peak District National Park. It is also only a short drive to Alton Towers theme park.
