August 2020
Tom and Susan are such welcoming hosts.. We had scones, jam and cream awaiting us on arrival and they were very happy to have a chat and make recommendations. In advance of our visit, I asked about riding stables and Susan called me back with a suggestion within minutes. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is beautifully situated in a lovely valley and the quiet is wonderful ! It's easy to stroll up to the village (and The Bell Inn is excellent and were well organised during these strange times). We found North Devon a delight. Not too crowded, lovely sandy beaches within an easy distance, good body-boarding to be had and lovely walks. We had mixed weather but it really didn't matter - it was wonderful to get away and to have a change of scene. We'd highly recommend The Cottage and its lovely owners. It was a very special week and we really did get away from it all !

Beautiful location in a quiet valley with a river burbling along.. The owners made us very welcome and were very helpful and friendly. Lovely walks from the cottage, and only a short drive to Hartland, Clovelly, Bideford and the vast beach of Westward Ho! The cottage is comfortable, very comfortable beds and the kitchen is small but well equipped, apart from not having a dishwasher.

The owners are wonderful and kind people.. The description of lawned garden with furniture is mis leading. The garden area is on a slope with one bench. You couldn't sit outside and eat for example, the area is also very small not like a garden, hard to explain without going there. Sue and Tom were very lovely people, the cottage was very equipped and they even brought us veggies grown from the farm and homemade jam. They took the kids to walk the chickens and they made their day. The location was a little out of the way but very scenic.

A lovely holiday, very restful and just what we needed.. The cottage is cosy, warm and the owners are very welcoming and kind. This is our 2nd visit here the first being 6 years ago, we will be back again sometime in the future!

The Cottage was a lovely retreat for a rather wet week in November.. The hosts were very kind – they even provided a cream tea for us on arrival – and the cottage was clean, warm and cosy, with plenty of firewood for the log burner, comfy sofas and beds, free wifi, no lack of hot water, hard ground for parking, and a very useful pack of information about the local area. It's an excellent base, and we'd definitely go back. Our dog enjoyed himself, too, and appreciated the enclosed garden.

Beautiful cottage in a delightful setting the owner Susan &Tom are lovely people & very welcoming, a delicious cream tea awaited us on our arrival, lots of lovely walks around the farm but unfortunately the weather was against us & we didn’t bring our wellies, still found lots of place’s to visit could have stayed a second week

What a lovely little cottage this is.. If you want a nice relaxing away from it all break out in the countryside then this is it. A lovely cream tea awaits you. The hosts are around if you need them and are very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and loved the log fires on a night. Clovelley and Bideford are near and well worth a visit.

Arrived 14th September.. .The property Can be a bit tricky to find but we had directions from the owners ....Its very rural and is set in Beautiful Surroundings ..The owners were very welcoming and made you feel at home ..And they left us with a Cream tea which was much appreciated The Cottage itself was lovely and we felt comfortable and at home straight away The Garden though small is delightful and it was a joy to sit outside and admire the views and watch the birds coming and going ..Luckily we had beautiful weather all week There is No phone signal at all and a weak Wi Fi signal but that does not detract at all from the cottage..The Bed was very Comfortable and coupled with the Peace Quiet and Darkness at night we had the best nights sleep in ages! We would definitely Recommend it 100% and would love to return

Visited this cottage in July with my husband, son ,daughter in law and two year old grandson, + dog.. A little difficult to find at first but we wanted somewhere out in the countryside. Sue and Tom are lovely, They leave you alone but are on hand if you need them . The view is very nice. The highlight of the holiday for me were their hens. They are so friendly and funny. They come running up to you to greet you. Six sweet chickens. The whole place in very clean and the beds were comfortable. If you want shops and entertainment this place is not for you. The nearest shop is in Bideford ,a car ride away. Only thing that I didn't like was that there is a log burning fire and although it wasn't lit we all could smell soot in the living room. Whilst the garden is very pretty it is very small and on a slope. Didn't stop the enjoyment of the cottage though. Would definitely go again and would recommend if you want a quiet and peaceful stay.

Just returned from a weeks break at Bank Hall Farm.. A lovely farm cottage in a delightful setting, nestling in a valley next to the river Yeo. It was comfortable, warm and so, so quiet. The only sounds to be heard are sheep and chickens! The cottage is surrounded by rolling farmland views and is just the ticket for a peaceful break away. On arriving at the cottage, we found a cream tea waiting for us, which nicely puts you in the mood for a Devon holiday. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The farm owner is a keen fisherman and on our departure he presented is with a 1.2kg river trout - delicious! Sadly we weren't blessed with the best of weather, but we found lots of places to visit (the Harltand peninsula is beautiful!) and Bude is a lovely, classical seaside town. And the pasties!! There's a big retail park approximately 15 minutes away with everything you could possibly need, including the cheapest fuel for miles. Thoroughly recommended.

The cottage is perfect.. Down a long narrow track to the farm and a well presented and quiet cottage awaits. No phone signal week Wi-Fi allows you to be a family again. The whole area is an ideal family holiday location. The owners of the cottage are delightful and really friendly plus you get scones with jam and cream on arrival. Perfect..

An amazing cottage.. Quiet rural location, where the owners have thought of everything. We arrived to homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, they even gave us rhubarb from their allotment. A relaxing break for anyone from old to young. We have a large dog and the enclosed garden was perfect. We had a fire every night, you help yourself from the woodstore. The children enjoyed the close proximity of the animals and were welcomed to wander around the farm. The couple were the nicest people and would do anything they could to help. The decor is dated but that adds to the charm. We will be booking again next year.

What can I say, a fantastic little hideaway in the beautiful rolling hills of north devon.. The drive there is a bit tricky so follow the directions you receive from the owner. But once we arrived we were very happy with the beautiful little cottage on the side of the owners own home. We hardly saw them but when we did we found them lovely and friendly. We even had warm scones and jam waiting for us on our arrival. The cottage is lovely and clean with everything you need, with a large inglenook fireplace which is a god send on a chilli night. The pub is a 20min walk away but be warned its up a steep hill thats tricky in the dark. however once there the landlady was so lovely she even gave us a lift back. (the bell inn). I would say there is zero phone signal and wi fi only in one spot in the cottage so prepare to be cut off from the world for a while. which we found delightful. This is a working farm with chickens and sheep. we found it lovely and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from it all.

A lovely peaceful little cottage in the middle of nowhere. limited wifi and no phone signal so perfect. wonderful owners greeted us with scones and jam. The cottage is fully equipped and the wood burner is fantastic. The place is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend a stay here. I went with my partner and two friends and we had a fantastic little break. I also recommend a walk to the Bell Inn about 20mins walk away.

A warm welcome awaits you from Susan and John.. We had a great week in this cosy homely annexe. 2 good size bedrooms with cot provided for our toddler. The bathroom had a proper size bath and shower which was ideal after a country walk. The lounge was comfortable and the log burner ( in addition to central heating) was great to watch on the evenings. The kitchen is well equipped to cook family meals and a high chair provided for our toddler. Everywhere was clean and the annexe was cosy and warm despite it being December. Bude beach and town is worthwhile to visit and the big sheep is ideal for tiring out any children. Overall we had a great week enjoying the local countryside and relaxing in the evening.

My husband and I and our 3 girls stayed in this lovely cottage last week. It is cosy and clean and well equipped. It is lovely and peaceful but there are shops and amenities only a few miles away. However the main selling point were the lovely couple that own the cottage who made us all feel extremely welcome and made sure we had everything we need. This cottage was well situated for us a we like to spend time in Bude and Woolacombe and this was halfway between the two. We would recommend this cottage and hope to be back next year.

This cottage is cozy and spotlessly clean.. It has everything you could need and we were greeted with a lovely cream tea on arrival. The farms owners really made the whole family welcome and let us know that we could ask if we needed anything at all. We would definitely recommend this cottage you feel away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but there is a supermarket etc only 3 miles down the road so close by for supplies . We will definitely be back as it is in a good position for us as we like to visit Bude and Woolacombe for surfing.

August 2018
Enjoyed a lovely family holiday in August with young boys aged 8 and 4.. Hosts were very friendly and even made a cream tea for us on arrival. They allowed their sheep and hens in the field near the cottage (but still separated by a fence for those worried about encountering animals without warning). Lovely watching the birds on the little bird table outside. Beautiful views in a lovely part of the world. Cottage is kept very clean with fresh towels and bedding provided.Would like to warn those staying that although was a minor inconvenience to us the track to the cottage from the main road is quite narrow in places so we had to pull our wing mirrors in. Most people would expect this in the country and will not mind it but just a forewarning to those with larger vehicles!

Beautiful cosy cottage with the most stunning views.. Wish I could of stayed longer . Owners were friendly warm and helpful but kept to themselves . Helped out with hints on where to go and what would be good to see and the most delicious cream tea on our arrival. Really didn't want to leave . My children aged 17 and 14 really enjoyed the wildlife and the walks around the local farmland .

Description says village pub - this burnt down Feb 2017 .. Tenant cannot control when central heating comes on (evenings in June can still be cold) Have to request owner to put it on.- this they will do. As mentioned by previous tenants living room is dark, have to have lights on - especially on gloomy days . But the accommodation is very nice, lovely situation and is very clean and well equipped. Nice cream tea provided.

Great location in a small farm holding, so quiet and peaceful with lovely grounds all around.. Proprietors are the most friendliest you could wish to meet, very accommodating and helpful. They have a few chickens and sheep to tender, which you can help out with if you so wish, we did! Surrounding fields have public walks to a local pub and a walk to Perricombe beach is a must. So close to all the theme parks , beaches and major towns A father with my two sons 11 and 13 years thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back!
