VERY RELAXING AND COSY HOLIDAY IN THE CORN HOUSE.. GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP.
OWNERS REALLY WORK HARD ESPECIALLY RUNNING A CATTLE FARM TOO. ALSO THE OWNER KEEPS THE SURROUNDING AREAS VERY NEAT AND TIDY.
THE DRIVE UP THE LANE A BIT HAIRY. COULD DO WITH SOME OF THE OTHER FARMERS HELPING TO CUT BACK SOME BUSHES ETC.
OTHER PEOPLE STAYING THERE VERY FRIENDLY.
WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WANTIING PEACE AND QUIET.
LOVED MOLLY THE BORDER COLLEY, VISITED EVERY DAY AND SO ADORABLE.
PLENTY OF NICE PLACES TO VISIT.

The Corn House was one of several cottages set on a farm, a beautiful setting which was peaceful but in easy reach of nearby attractions and towns.. The cottage was cosy and quaint and the beds were really comfortable for a good night sleep , however what let it down was cleanliness, on arrival the fridge was dirty with left over food crumbs and milk stains and I felt the need to clean it before putting in my own food . The tea cups , sugar dish and cheese grater all still had food remains on them ,we have stayed in numerous cottages beforehand and have never had to clean on arrival.
Wifi could be improved and the bathroom although clean, for appearances the shower could really do with a mould and mildew treatment.

Our first family holiday in Shropshire and it was a great choice.. Once used for storing grain, the Corn House felt cosy, yet was roomy enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers to co-exist peacefully! The kitchen was well equipped, there was always plenty of hot water and the beds comfortable. We loved sitting outside in the evening sunshine with a glass of wine to just enjoy the tranquility of it all.
A fab location for exploring nearby Ironbridge and beyond. We rafted on the river, visited the Victorian Village at Blists Hill, explored Ludlow and its castle and walked part of Carding Mill Valley in the famous Shropshire Hills.
A fantastic week - we have already recommended the Corn House to a number of friends with similar aged children!

I enjoyed the location of how it was set away from all noise and civilisation but still not too far from the town centre.. It was warm and cosy, clean and comfortable and I really enjoyed the small touches such as wood for the fire and some delicious fresh baked cakes for our arrival.

At first we thought that being so close to the cows it might be a problem with noise through the night but no problem, the cows must go to sleep also.. It's a long single track lane to the farm from the main road but we only encountered another vehicle coming the other way and that was when we first arrived! Derrick and Sue were very welcoming on our arrival, they showed us around the cottage and had a fire going in the wood burner stove and had left some cake baked by Derrick mother, very nice! All in all we had a very good holiday and met some friends that we new from when we lived there some seventeen years ago.

It should be noted that the stairs in the Corn House, whilst in tune with the cottage, are steep and on a twist and therefore difficult for anyone with walking difficulties.. This did not spoil our holiday in any way and we would love to go back.
The holiday was wonderful - quiet and peaceful and just what we wanted.

Wonderful quiet location.. The Corn House was very comfy and as expected. Although a quiet out of the way location, the cottage is only 4 miles from Ironbridge Gorge.
Highlight was that Molly the farm dog greeted us and joined us for breakfast every morning.

Lovely homely cottage with stunning views of the Wrekin and surrounding countryside, close to all the attractions.. Welcomed by a roaring log fire and homemade cakes and the lovely host Derek who could not do enough for us, even though we turned up hours later than expected.

We arrived in the afternoon with the cows grazing on the hay bales.. Farmer Derek and Mollie the collie were their to greet us with the log burner already set up and a box of rock cakes. We had a lovely relaxing break with our two and four year olds who loved watching the cows being fed in the morning. The cottage was clean, tidy and well equipped in a scenic location. We also had plenty of places to visit in Shropshire.

We were lucky to find this cottage for a five day Christmas break at fairly short notice and a reasonable price.. The owners were flexible about arrival time and very welcoming, including wood burning stove lit for us!
A beautiful location, ideal for Ironbrigde and the Shropshire Hills. If you enjoy staying on a working farm, you can see the cows from the front door!

Me and my partner just returned from a weekend stay in the Cornhouse, which was a lovely break away. The cottage is located on a farm, with stunning views across the local countryside. There is lots to see around the local area, especially the Ironbridge gorge. Will definitely be coming back.
And the sponge cake waiting for us when we arrived was a nice touch :)

The Corn Barn is situated on a working cattle farm in a lovely setting and was everything we expected plus more. For our children it was the first time they'd stayed on a farm and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The owners were very welcoming, providing us with a cake on arrival. The fire was already stocked up and roaring away for us getting there. The owner also kept us well stocked up on fresh supplies of wood every day. The log fire was particularly lovely.
