The Carriage House is a detached townhouse in the village of Barnard Castle in County Durham in the Yorkshire Dales. The property sleeps eight people in four zip/link king-size double bedrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is a separate bathroom. Completing the accommodation is a kitchen, utility, dining room, sitting room and a snug. Outside is off road parking for four cars and a patio with furniture. The Carriage House is a fantastic property for family and friends to explore this area of the Yorkshire Dales.

Four king-size double bedrooms (zip/link, can be twin on request), one with en-suite shower, basin and WC. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Kitchen. Dining room (seats 8). Sitting room (seats 5) with electric fire. Snug (seats 3).

Area
The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman ford which crosses the river.

Visited the 4 bedroom carriage house with six friends . We were all well impressed, the house is lovely , very clean and lots of finishing touches, the location is excellent a 2 min stroll to the Main Street , the communication and response to any queries was excellent.. we would without a doubt return .

Pleasant cottage very modern good space for 5 Adults and 3 children , excellent space for us all.. All amenities very close , great base for days out , glad we had off street parking for the cars . The condition of the property is in good order but A repaint throughout Probably on the cards and the taps in the toilet and en- suite need attention , Very good property we would stay again.

The Carriage house was a great base for our group consisting of 6 adults and 1 teenager, the beds were comfortable and clean, the house was very homely and clean but could do with a lick of paint in some parts but overall it was lovely.. The walled garden was nice to relax in after a busy day, the bonus of 2 car parking spaces was really good as it could get busy around the surrounding streets. The location of the house was perfect to wonder around Barnard Castle and to Walk to Bowes Museum. We travelled to Durham and Richmond in about 30 mins so great place to travel from. Most things are open but due to Covid you do need to be organised and book in for meals as there are not as many places open as there would normally be, the Three Horseshoes who own the Carriage House do a nice meal, I would happily go back to this house and would recommend it to anyone

The location is perfect for local shops and services.. There are good walks nearby starting from the cottage and without need for car or public transport. There is generous space for families. Warm and welcoming to come home to at the end of each day. The private garden for eating in the fine weather. Friendly and helpful staff at the Three Horseshoes.

This house was easy to be in, spacious and comfortable and in a great spot for the lovely town of Barnard Castle (many small independent shops, a rare thing these days).. the walking from the house and nearby was perfect for us and spectacular in places. Thank you.

The Cottage is comfortable & perfectly located being centrally located in Barnard Castle.. As the cottage is slightly away from the main road, there is no noise from traffic or pedestrians in the shopping area. Ideally located for Shops & walks along the river etc.

The holiday cottage was brilliant.. Every room was very clean, comfortable beds and plenty of room. Kitchen was very equipped with everything we needed. Location to the main street was less than 5 minutes walk, ideal for shops, restaurants and pubs. Local people very friendly. Will be going back definitely.

This house is excellent.. Brilliant location. Very well equipped. Lots of space. We were 4 adults and two children and ample room for everyone. The children claimed the small sitting room as a games room which was great. On a quiet street but only 1 minute from a delightful little town. Castle, park and mini golf just across the road.We are definitely returning next year.

The place was probably the best that we have stayed in over many years of our boys annual walking/cycling weeks.. It was ideally located for local services and also for start/end of numerous cycling/walking days

This is our second visit to the carriage house.. Location of property excellent. Christmas tree a nice touch as well. Bedrooms and kitchen spot on only slighteat negative is the lay out of downstairs. Would be better as a bigger sitting room than having an unused snug room.

We had a wonderful stay at The Carriage House - the location is fantastic if you are looking for a town centre stay.. It is probably the cleanest holiday home we have ever stayed in and the facilities were great, with the kitchen being well stocked with cutlery, utensils and gadgets! Thoughtful touches such as dishwasher and washing machine detergents were plentiful too. If we ever need to come back to Barnard Castle we would definitely want to stay here. Thank you!

This house is an absolute gem. It is beautifully furnished and very well knitted out. It was spotless clean when we arrived. The Carriage House is right in the centre of Barnard Castle, so you can walk everywhere, but it is also very quiet and peaceful. The private parking is a godsend. We own quite a large house ourselves and so we often find that holiday cottages are relatively cramped and uncomfortable. Not so with the Carriage House. It is roomy and well proportioned. The area is beautiful and there is plenty to see and do, but it is great to come back to the house in the evening. It is a real home from home. Honestly I can't think of a bad word to say about it. We loved it and will certainly be back.

Lovely house, ideally situated in a small town with everything you need close to hand, but situated in beautiful countryside. The house was ideal for meeting up with family and friends and very well equipped.
