Self-Catering Reviews

Mr Ellis

Hosts Jane and Steve were very pleasant.. They made us very welcome and provided lovely scones and cookies on arrival. After that they left us alone but were there if we needed anything. The cottage was very cosy, with a kitchen living area and separate bedroom with shower and washbasin. Enclosed WC off the bedroom. Sheep in the adjacent field come right up to the living room and bedroom windows. A funny experience when laid in bed or having something to eat. The nearest place, Kirkby Lonsdale, is about 3 mile away on quiet, narrow country roads. A very enjoyable week for us.

A lovely welcome from the owners, despite having to cope with Covid measures.. Home made scones, shortbread and pint of milk provided and the vase of flowers was an added touch. The Bull Hull provided cosy and comfortable accommodation, well arranged facilities in a quiet location. The sheep who like to look in the windows at the rear provided added amusement! Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve is accessible on foot from the cottage and provides amazing views of the surrounding area. Plenty of good walking in the locality on the coast, canal, Lune Valley Ramble and at Leighton Moss RSPB reserve. Ideal if you want to keep away from tourist honeypots at this present time.

Owners were so welcoming.. Great home baking. The use of garden was so good as we had a puppy to amuse. Luckily our dog loved the resident pooch and together they had a great time.

I loved the cottage as it was in an ideal quiet location and a great place to unwind and relax. It was great as my dog was allowed to come as well!! It overlooked the fields and often we had a nosy cow or sheep looking into the windows!! The owners were very kind and we arrived to scones and jam - what more could you ask for!
