Devon is where my heart is. We're grandparents / special guardians to Mia. 10. We also took our grandson Arthur. 3. He was super excited for our holiday. Arrived Friday. My son, daughter in law & granddaughter Hollie with Bruno dog joined us Monday. Best friend with Saxon dog arrived Tuesday. Wow we had a full busy house. Everyone slept beautifully. Comfy beds. Knowing we were self catering, I brought extras like washing pods, dishwasher tabs. Toilet rolls etc ( didn't want laundry & dishes to get in the way of our holiday ) Having the washing machine/ tumble dryer was absolute godsend. Views were stunning pretty much all round except our room looked out onto building/renovations. No noise though. Look forward to seeing finished results. Fishing lakes a short walk away. Owners so so lovely. Owners furbabies popped by daily, which we didn't mind. Upstairs looked recently decorated, refreshed. Very inviting & cosey. Kitchen looked brighter than original photos. Really spacious. All utensils needed to hand. Living room could be brightened up a little, slight damp smell, however I was still comfy. Downstairs bathroom looked inviting. Very modern. Bath plug didn't appear to fit snuggly enough so water kept running away. ( children's bath ) Downfall with so many staying - hot water didn't last long. Ok for those who didn't mind a cooler shower hubby. The drive down the track /driveway would be a challenge to those in standard cars due to the unevenness and pot holes. Go steady. Great location to access a number of beaches. Westward Ho being very close. Perfect Sunsets . Plenty of shops, eateries to hand. We would love to come back! We have just arrived and have had a warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Lee when a tour of the property. So far everything is just excellent even down to the cream tea that awaited us. What a gem. The rooms are really clean and well decorated and the whole place is warm and roomy. Been here less than an hour and we are in awe. If you don't stay here, you are missing out. All 7 of us can't wait to explore the area and know that we have somewhere homely to come back to each evening. Will definitely be back.

Friendly Owners made us very welcome so did the farm dogs.. Sheep were sheep but the grandchildren loved them. All in all a very memorable holiday.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday at the Barton and the weather was hot and sunny.. The cottage had everything that we needed for our stay, and our hosts were very helpful and informative. The surrounding area is very picturesque, and this is an ideal base to visit local attractions. Thank you for a lovely relaxing Easter weekend.

The only other thing I would have liked is access to a downstairs lavatory.. (there were three upstairs} It could make things difficult for the very young and the elderly but this is a comparatively small consideration as the rest of the facilities and hospitality were lovely.

We felt really welcome at this farmhouse, which is both tucked away and remote, while being a 5 minute drive to a Supermarket, and really well placed to visit North Devon and Cornish beaches.. When we arrived ‘late’. The fire was lit, and we had all we needed for a cream tea already in the fridge. We spent a week walking, chilling, and fishing with our daughter and her family. The kids could let off steam and find quiet spots to chill in this lovely old farmhouse. We made good use of the washing machine and tumble dryer and even went home without any laundry. A proper break, Thank you.
