Lovely cottage in a great location, close to everything you would need.. Comfortable & clean. Close to some lovely walks & very assessable to other lakes & attractions. The only thing that was tricky was the parking.

What a fantastic break we had! Swinside Cottage is beautifully appointed, warm, comfortable and it would suit anyone who wants to be in the heart of Keswick. From furniture to crockery, everything was high quality and after much discussion with my husband, we decided on a score of 11 out of 10! Very impressed indeed!

Perfect location.. Not too far from town centre, parks and lake. Great for a stroll or a meal /drink in the evening. Couldn't fault the accommodation. Owners had furnished and equipped the cottage very tastefully and to a high standard. The bed was really comfortable and much appreciated after a good days walking. We have spent three holidays there and will continue to do so in the future as it most definitely ticks all our boxes.

After been out for the day we totally chilled out in cottage just like home from home ,our dog Indi actually settled in straight away which wasn't normal for us she normally walks the floor all night but she crashed out in her own bed all night and rest of the week ,first time for us ,the cottage is a credit to the owner .. We would definitely go back to this cottage again.

The cottage was fabulous, lovely size that we would of loved it for our own home.. But it would of lacked space for all our clothes especially our daughter's. (Who has special needs.) Would go again and again. THANKYOU for making our stay enjoyable.

Great location in centre of Keswick, really close on foot for everything we needed.. Only used the car to drive to other areas outside of Keswick. Initially concerned as previous reviews mentioned parking problems - however we didn't have any issues parking outside for the entire week. Power shower was fantastic and the beds were wonderful. Although very small, the kitchen everything we needed to prepare all our food for the week. Only minor comment on the house is that the leather sofas are not particularly comfy - especially after long days walking! Strong wifi was a bonus. We love Keswick and will certainly be back - this trip is becoming a yearly tradition for me and my mum :)

Excellent property.. Ideal location. Suited the two of us. Furnished to a very high standard and lots of thought had gone into ensuring we had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for more. Our second stay here and we have another week booked for later in the year. Can't wait! B & G from Wolverhampton 9.06.18-16.06.18

Parking outside the property is a serious problem during the day.. Basically you just won't as shopworkers in Keswick park outside the town and walk in to work. I can only assume that you airbrushed out all the cars in the picture of Swinside as cars are parked all day (workers) and night (occupiers). Our first time booking a property in a town and probably the last as I like to be parked fairly close to the property at all times. I am a keen recycler but all items had to be placed into purple plastic bags of which non were provided in the property, you were expected to go to the council offices to get them. Thats a no-no. We were on holiday and not traipsing around town looking for the relevant office. We will not be back at Swinside.

Our third stay at Swinside in 4 years! It was great to be back in the cottage which is like a home away from home. It's perfectly situated for the short 5 min walk into Keswick town centre and all the amenities and to go walking up the fells or out for a drive to other parts of the wonderful Lake District. We made full use of the fully equipped kitchen this time cooking most nights and enjoying cosy nights in before a late night meander for our pooch to stretch his legs as there is no garden at the property. If I had to be picky I'd say that the downstairs could do with a spruce up paint wise, some parts are looking dirtier than others, which of course is only natural given the cottage is both dog and child friendly. However this certainly would not put us off coming back to Swinside next time we're in Keswick!

We came to Keswick for a long pre-Christmas break and searched hard for a suitable place for us and our dog. Swinside Cottage has everything you need in terms of furnishings and kitchen equipment, it is practically equipped with hard wearing flooring for ease of cleaning. The kitchen is small but planned out well. The cottage is snug, warm and cosy in a quiet location without any outside noise or disturbance. The bedroom is large with dual aspect windows and a really comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom is tidy. If I was to make any improvements I would add blinds to the bedroom windows and replace the bathroom curtain with a blind along with a Perspex shower door. It didn’t really work for our dog not having a back door and outside area for her to out to the toilet and thanks to Storm Desmond we completely lost the television reception on the Saturday tea time and then on Sunday the water supply was cut off. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience for us so we made the decision to head home a day early.

Have just come back from having a wonderful time in Keswick. Stayed at this gorgeous cottage which was very clean, tidy and had the most comfortable beds! It is fitted out with everything you need and has been renovated to the highest standard. Great pictures on the walls too! Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

We have booked with Lakes Cottage Holidays before and again everything was simple & very straightforward. The cottage was warm, compact and had everything we needed for our weekend away with the dog. It has been renovated to a high standard, comfortable and tasteful furnishings, heating was easy to control, as was the shower. It was located close to the town centre, just a short walk away, we love Keswick and feel its our second home! We hope to return to this lovely cottage again soon.

Really clean and well maintained and with everything you could want for a stay in Keswick. Everything worked perfectly (wifi, shower, heating, tv etc etc) and we will definitely be shortlisting this and booking again. Comfy bed with almost no outside noise. Slept really well. Well located just a short walk to the centre. We managed to park right outside but if you cant then park somewhere close and be patient as spaces will become available. This company are excellent to deal with.

This was the 3rd time we have stayed at Swinside and we love the place. It's clean & tidy plus has all that you need. Great location for walking into Keswick and ideal for the walks in the area. We love the place so much we are booked to return twice this year.

The service we received from the company was excellent. The cottage was lovely, it would have been better with a carpet in the lounge. What I didn't like was the lack of a back door. There was everything in it that you needed, but felt cold and not very homely. The location was great for what we wanted, hardly had to use the car at all. We would have liked Freeview TV.

It was very easy picking up the key for the cottage. The location is very near the town centre and park(s). The cottage is very clean and comfortable with instructions about oven central heating etc... clearly marked also leaflets about what to do, where to eat etc..

Lovely traditional cottage but with a modern and bright interior. Perfect size and loved the kingsize bed with a really comfy mattress. 5 minutes walk from town centre but peaceful and quiet. 10 minutes walk from Castle Wood which was beautiful with Bluebells everywhere and perfect for walking the dogs - also had a handy bin close to the entrance for dog waste. Would love to stay in Swinside again and will be looking to book next year.

Just back from a 5 day stay in Keswick. This is our fourth visit to Keswick in 3 years but the first time as dog owners. B&B's that we had previously stayed in didn't accept dogs so we tried to find somewhere we could use as a base that was modern and close to the centre of Keswick that would accept Oscar our 2 year old Golden Retriever. Swinside was the perfect pace for us to stay. Well equipped with all the mod-cons and the most comfortable bed after a long day walking the fells. It was a 2 minute walk to the town centre and parking was not a problem. It was quiet at night-time and all the local residents were lovely. We had a wonderful time and we are planning when we will be able to return again and look forward to Swinside being our holiday cottage each time we visit Keswick.

Booking through Lakes Cottage Holidays was efficient as always. We chose Swinside because it was available to book in advance for a short break and we were not disappointed. The cottage is clean and comfortable and is in a quiet, but convenient location. The walking maps were a nice touch.

I was amazed and very pleased with the high standard of the accomodation, especially when it's pet friendly- the photo's really are of the current condition of the accomodation. In the lounge the heavy duty lined curtains co-ordinate with, rug, cushions, roller blind. Wi-fi easily accessed. The kitchen is well equipped with white goods, cutlery and Denby crockery. Bedroom- king size bed with memory foam mattress, duvets, throws, new carpet with thick underlay, wall mounted tv. Bathroom- spotlessly clean -as was the whole property. No problem parking and neighbours very friendly. Needn't have worried about forgetting anything- the owners have everthing there-- from tape measure to note paper.

Good location - within easy walking distance to lake and the town centre. The house was clean, tasteful and well equipped. We slept very well. There is plenty to do nearby with or without a car. Having free wifi is a big selling point for us. We were a bit chilly at times but that's pobably why there are blankets and throws to snuggle into! For eating out there are plenty of pubs to choose from. Supermarkets are also easily accessible, as is the bus station. For quiet nights in or rainy days there are plenty of books, information, games, Dvds and freeview TV.

We found booking online very easy and the staff at Cottage Holiday group were friendly and happy to help. The cottage was small but adequate for our needs and was extremely well appointed. The location was good - quiet and only a short walk to all facilities the town offerred

We were very happy with Swinside. It was very tastefully decorated and had every modern amenity needed. It was quite modern but still had charm and was cosy.It was perfectly situated for access to everything Keswick has to offer. My only small gripe is that parking was occasionally difficult to find outside the cottage and the central heating was a little bit complicated and didn't really warm the house that much. The cottage is perfect for couples and we'd definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely week at Swinside. Everything there we could possibly need. Appreciated the maps, torches, books, dishwasher, plenty of cutlery and crockery, nice big mugs, very comfortable kingsize bed. Great to have WiFi. Parking wasn't always easy, but we managed. Friendly neighbours. No garden or space to sit outside, but an ideal location for walking to the Lake or town (where there are plenty of benches to sit on). Spar shop very near, open long hours. Lots of lovely walks from house or from short drives away. Plenty of space for the 2 of us. We would recommend Swinside to other couples (probably not families), who wanted a good base for exploring Keswick and the Lakes.

From the pictures this cottage looked well finished and yes, contemporary. But on arrival it became immediately clear there was more. Firstly it seems bigger but more importantly they have managed to preserve the original cottage feel. A welcoming fire awaited us on our late arrival helping us feel on holiday proper after a wet and windy journey. The cottage is in the heart of the town but away from any busy roads. Perfect access to the hills or shops depending on the weather and your legs. We'll be back again. Lets hope it stops raining by then!

We spend most of our time out on the fells and need a well equipped and comfortable place to stay with our dog. Swinside ticked the boxes. Having the wi-fi to check the Mwis was a bonus.

I visited for a photography trip and brought my dog I found Swinside to be a well thought out accommodation and pet friendly, easy to keep clean, but small so if you have a lot gear, backpacks, boots etc you need to be tidy. It's a short walk to the centre of town and Lake Derwent, which I loved. The weather during my stay was cold and wet and I had some things that couldn't be dried in the tumble dryer which were still damp the next day because the heating was a bit low. Dogs are not allowed upstairs but the stairs are open plan off the lounge so the only way of definitely keeping the dog downstairs was to lock him in the kitchen. A baby gate would be a small adjustment they could make. Overall though I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, there is a dishwasher and a huge stack of plates, but I still only used one cup, bowl, tea plate and dinner plate all week! The decoration and furniture was of a very high standard for holiday accommodation. For a trip where you are going to be out all day it's the perfect place to return to at night and recharge your batteries and excellent value for money.

Fantastic clean newly modernised property. This centrally located property is a fantastic base for all of whats on offer in and around Keswick. The property has just been newly refurbished to a very high standard. It is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. It is compact and I would reccommend it for couples. The only downside is the lack of outside space. It would have been good to have been able to sit outside with a glass of wine after days out. But with it being so close to the town centre there were plenty of bars restaurants available for this. There is also the problem of parking as there is no designated parking space for the property. Overall a good newly modernised, compact clean central property.
