Starfield is a charming property resting in the heart of the village of Skellingthorpe, near the city of Lincoln. It comprises of two double bedrooms and a twin room, sleeping six altogether. One of the doubles has an en-suite shower room and there is also a separate family bathroom. There is a large open-plan living area with kitchen and diner, the sitting room is separate with sweeping floors and exposed beams on the ceiling and a woodburner. Outside is a beautiful garden and patio to sit out on and there is also off-road parking for two cars. Starfield is a stunning property to enjoy the thriving village of Skellingthorpe and the surrounding Midlands.

This property was awarded a 2023 Sykes Star for scoring consistently perfect feedback from guests. Three bedrooms: 2 x double (one with en-suite wetroom with shower, basin and WC), 1 x twin. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower separate, basin and WC. Kitchen/diner. Sitting room with woodburning stove.

Area
Skellingthorpe is a village and civil parish approximately four miles west of the city of Lincoln, with two pubs, a shop and a Post Office. The village was formerly home to RAF Skellingthorpe and was the host to one of many bomber airfields around the city of Lincoln. The village has ancient woodland to explore on foot, bicycle or horseback, with a variety of ancient oak, lime and conifers. The local nature reserve, Whisby Nature Park, is famous for its lakes and ponds and over six miles of footpaths.

The Bungalows location was superb, the get you in coffee, scones & bottle of wine were very well received.. The food at the Stone Arms was excellent, and easy access to a park for the dog was a bonus. From the Bungalow we were well positioned for trips to Lincoln, Skegness, Sherwood Forest and several excellent Country Parks and National Trust properties. A week wasn't enough, we will be back.

The owner was very welcoming.. The bungalow was warm ( important in February!), and very well equipped in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, and I loved the underfloor heating in the wet room. Would definitely recommend Starfield .

Our booking was for Christmas week so it was important to us that everything went smoothly and that we were able to do lots of cooking and enjoy log fires.. The owners were in touch with us directly beforehand and were extremely helpful and accommodating. On arrival we were delighted that they had gone to the trouble of setting up a Christmas tree, some tasteful decorations and a few welcome edible gifts. The kitchen equipment was all of a very good standard and the beds were very comfortable. During our stay they checked that all was well and were near at hand in case of any problems. A first class experience.

We loved staying in this bungalow.. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was spacious and had a great TV and wood burner. The lounge would have benefited from curtains/blinds. The owners were very helpful and left us some lovely treats to enjoy. Doddington Hall is a few minutes away and Lincoln was within easy reach. If we could have picked the bungalow up and taken it home, we would have!

It was a wonderful week we had there, very cosy, well designed bungalow.. Very quiet and private. Pete & Dawn were always on hand when we needed it. It was located only 5 minutes walk to my son and families home so no driving needed, ideal for us. Plenty of walking routes which we took advantage of during the Autumn season. Easy access to Lincoln town, only 15 minutes drive. Look forward to going back and relaxing in front of the log burner

The holiday cottage is probably one of the best we have stayed in in 25 years.. It was clean, comfortable and very homely. Lots of nice little touches like bread, milk, chocolate cake etc and all the condiments that you have at home along with useful cleaning materials. A lovely kitchen, dining and garden room with a fantastic wood burner. We had a great holiday and only 3 miles from Lincoln which was a lovely city.

Starfield was a lovely property and the owners were very nice, friendly and helpful and there if you needed anything.. Our dog Tim loved the totally secure garden and the treats that were left for him. We appreciated the welcome pack that was left too. There was nothing that wasn't there for you to enjoy your stay. Lovely place, lovely stay and would stay there again.

We have stayed in other Sykes cottages and not been disappointed but Starfield was exceptional.. It was a pleasure to be able to enjoy a number of meals before we had to switch on the dishwasher as there was plenty of crockery and cutlery. There was no need to rush to the shop before being able to make a drink and settling into the cosy sofas, when we arrived. The underfloor heating was a treat. We walked into Lincoln one day and took the bus on another. There was an excellent co-op in the village and two friendly pubs, which made the trip very relaxing.

Starfield was well above expectations.. The little touches made it, including the lovely cake on arrival. The house was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of room for 6 of us. We had sun in the back garden and were able to make use of the patio and garden furniture. Lincoln was within easy reach.

Great pet-friendly bungalow located within easy reach of Lincoln by bus. The accommodation is ideal for families and dogs as the garden is very secure. Our grandchildren loved being able to go out of the lounge straight onto the large patio area. The bungalow was extremely well equipped and very comfortable with quality furnishings. The owner lives nearby and was very welcoming, leaving some lovely homemade chocolate brownie along with other provisions. It was a pleasure staying there and I would recommend this as a great base for touring and visiting Lincolnshire.

Lovely cottage.. Lovely location. Great attention to detail with open plan layout and interior design. Practical and pretty with good quality beds, bedding etc. Well equipped kitchen for real cooking! Loved the welcome pack, especially the home made brownies. Friendly and helpful hosts.

What a fantastic holiday home.. We had a brilliant week staying at Starfield with our 2 children and my parents. We received a lovely welcome on arrival from Dawn, complete with kitchen essentials of bread and milk, plus added extras of a bottle of wine, dog treats and home made brownie, which was delicious. The property has recently been beautifully renovated and furnished, including comfortable beds and sofas. The living room is amazing especially on sunny days with the bifold doors open onto the secure garden, ideal for children and dogs. It was a real home from home being so well equipped. Starfield is set in a lovely village, close to two pubs, little supermarket and play area. It is also a great base to explore Lincolnshire and beyond. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Had a lovely overnight stay, whilst visiting old friends. The cottage has a luxurious feel with some nice quirky details and we were made to feel very welcome. Cottage is in a nice village location with a short walk to the local pubs and shop. Lincoln was easy to reach on foot, walking along a nice flat cycle path that follows the Foss dyke into the Brayford Wharf with a pit stop at the Pyewipe pub/restaurant for a swift half if you need one! Only regret is that I didn’t get chance to soak in the roll top bath with a G&T.
