Stayed Friday to Monday for a long weekend as a retirement birthday weekend away with family. The cottage was lovely and clean on arrival and appeared well equipped with everything we needed. We found the cottage clean and comfortable and have no complaints at all. The underfloor heating was a real treat too. The layout of the house is great especially having the dining table large enough to seat everyone in the kitchen as everyone can be together while cooking or prepping door in the kitchen. Located close enough to lots of lovely places to visit and even though its located on a main road, the traffic noise is bearable. Would definitely book again to stay

Lovely house, it’s listed as more bathrooms than there us as one is a downstairs loo with no shower or bath, The parking is also incorrect as there’s not enough room for 5 cars, it would be impossible, we managed 3 cars.. 1 was in the garage( not enough space to park one round the back outside the garage unless it’s a very small thin car as the road is used regularly by tractors and the car would block access, also the parking at front we managed to agree a parking plan with the neighbors as the plan left does not work for either house. Owner was very helpful and quickly dealt with a leak. The house was well equipped although the amount of oil air fresheners was overpowering so we put them outside. But we would definitely return as love the area

We had a lovely holiday with plenty of room for all 10 of us.. In easy reach of lots of different outdoor activities and a decent walk in to bakewell, was also less then an hour to alton towers.

We were expecting a small little cottage but we got this beautiful house with a back garden and lots of parking spaces.. The fridges were more than enough space for all our food. The living room was stocked with fun games and good reads. The owners managed to cram a lot of beds into a small space but they positioned them well, leaving plenty of space for walking. It was walking distance to lots of shops and a public footpath which was very useful. We all had a great time spending 60% of the time in the house, in the living room which was a great communal area with many sofas. Thank you for a great stay!

An amazing holiday let! We enjoyed our time at the Lillies - a well equipped comfortable holiday let and a joy to stay at. We know local folks and they said it would be top notch! - it was!. I've read a few reviews on the parking - can I just add if you look at the owners welcome book you can learn the parking drill so that both occupied holiday homes can actually park with simplicity. This cottage ticked all the boxes for us and I would recommend an additional star for the owners who take great pride in their property.

Disappointed that there was no dvd player available despite inclusion on spec.. This was our second visit for our 3 generation family - accommodation was perfect for our needs and location is brilliant!

After reading recent reviews I was apprehensive about staying here.. I phoned Sykes who contacted the owner on my behalf and I received reassurance that all negatives were sorted. Three generations stayed at the Lillies to celebrate a 70th birthday. The house layout was ideal, plenty of space. We all had a fab time and would stay there again. Issues mentioned in earlier reviews were resolved.

Wasn't expecting to have to strip the beds when we were leaving.. Didn't realise it was a shared drive but once we realised how best to park we coped well enough That aside it was a perfect size for our party and everyone enjoyed meeting up.

The house was easy to find following the direction that was given.. There was enough room for the 9 of us. The cleanliness of the house could be more thorough as there was water/soap mildew on the tiles and around the bath etc. The fridge and oven also needed a bit more attention to detail. There was a hole in the ceiling near the down stairs toilet. The down stair toilet smelt quite damp/drainage smell. Quite a few windows had "blown " with 1 having about a cm pool. Some of the lights bulbs need a change. Only 1 side of toaster working. Was handy having a washing machine and tumble dryer, large freezer. Towels and linen provided. Did not mind having to strip the beds but almost wish we had not as the stains to all the beds, protectors, duvets and pillows would have put us off from sleeping in them. The house has would be even better to staying the attention to detail was there with the cleanliness. The drive is a shared drive which fits 3 cars on the front and 1 to the back of the property. Garden nice with patio area. Some blinds also very bent so could do with replacing. The rooms are spacious. Not everyone could watch th tv due to the position of this at one end of the living room. Also tv small.

Lovely spacious cottage.. However I would add a few small pointers. In the information the dishwasher is listed as being a facility however no dishwasher tablets were available. Being people that don’t have a dishwasher at home, we wouldn’t be buying a whole packet just for a few days. Would have been useful to have a few left for our stay. This being the case we had to wash up our dishes when a dishwasher would have saved time for our break. Some of the rooms were slightly dusty and some lamps/bulbs needed replacing. I feel when you are spending a lot of money for a three day stay this should not have been the case. Stripping the beds? These are minor issues but the place was lovely. We had a good stay.

The cottage was much better than i expected, it had all facilities that we could use.. I booked it for my daughters hen party there were 10 of us and we all fitted in easily. I would highly recommend the cottage to other family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great place to stay which easily catered for our family of 10.. Good access to either Bakewell or Matlock. Residents friendly and enjoyed an evening meal at the Orangeries after a recommendation by two locals. A minor point would be that the inclusion of a cafetière would be helpful for any coffee drinkers.

The Lillies is an amazing property, well equipped, clean and very homely, the owners were very accommodating for a early check in and late check out, and even put the tree up for us as we were meeting family for a xmas get together.. Just a couple of points the cottage could do with a big house sign and more plug sockets near mirrors. but those points did no way have any impact on our stay, it was great we had a super time

The cottage was booked for a surprise weekend for my dad's 70th birthday.. The party consisted of an age range from 4-70 and the accommodation was wonderful allowing the family to be together along with having their own parts of the cottage. The lovely long dining table ment meals and breakfast were a lovely time to get together and enjoy each others company. The weather wasn't that kind to us, however the cottage with its underfloor heating was nice and cosy to come home to. Lots of space for the 10 of us and we didn't feel on top of each other

11 people in our family group and all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas at Green Banks and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. From the Christmas decorations to the large living area and the glorious hot tub all in all a wonderful family Christmas.

An excellent property in a great location, where local attractions are easily accessible. The Peak Rail steam railway is just 5 minutes walk away and the kids (and the adults!) had a great time getting the steam train into Matlock.

This was a very warm, cosy, and well furnished house that easily accommodates 12. I would describe it as finished to a high spec - good value. The kitchen was well equipped and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were impressive.

It was stunning. We had 6 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room for all of us. We would consider returning again. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful and the décor was lovely.

The cottage was ideal for our stay - plenty of room for all 10 adults and 2 toddlers. We loved the bathrooms and the layout of the lounge meant the boys could watch the telly while the girls nattered at the other end! Good location for trips out to Chatsworth, Curbar Edge, Matlock and Bakewell. Everything was nicely finished and it was great having things like bed linen, towels and cleaning things provided, as well as well stocked kitchen cupboards with pots and pans etc. We appreciated the large telly, the internet access and good parking for all our cars. We had a brilliant stay!

Not only would I recommend Stanley House to friends, but I will definitely be visiting again. The accommodation was beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a nicer house to stay in for the weekend. There are shops and pubs close by for those of you who want to venture out, and for those who want to stay in and cook (even for large groups), there is a large oven AND microwave oven. The owner was extremely polite and welcoming, especially meeting us late on the day of our check in as we couldn't get there until 10pm!

Modern, comfortable, warm house.

We loved Stanley House! We were there for my hen weekend and found the property to be plenty big enough for the 8 of us who stayed overnight and the 12 or so people who passed through visiting across the weekend. The big living space and kitchen diner were a particular highlight as at no point were my friends split between rooms, we could all comfortably hang out in one space. Have to say the showers were also particularly spectacular, the decor was clean and modern throughout and the pictures don't do Stanley House's homely warmth justice.

Everything was perfect. There was plenty of room for a family of 12, including 2 children, 2 toddlers and 1 infant.
