We planned our holiday around doing the 3 peaks.. We managed to complete 2 of the 3 mountains. This cottage was an hour drive away from the peaks but it was a lovely drive to them. It was nice to come back to a lovely spacious cottage after such a challenge, only thing missing for me was an hot tub. We will definately be back to complete the 3rd mountain and we would consider returning to this cottage. The owners were very friendly and it was nice and quiet and the scenery aroung the place was stunning. When we book again it will be for a longer period of time. 3 nights was not enough.

The Stables is in a great place you can do lots off walks straight from the door.. It is a bit tight to get in the gateway you just have to take a wide sweep in. The owners were very helpful even supplied us with a map of local walks and a few suggestion of local pubs to go for food. We would definitely go back again.

A lovely cottage for a family of 5.. The children enjoyed watching the goings on on the farm from the upstairs windows and found it funny to be in an "upside down" house. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The cottage felt homely, warm and welcoming. It was a fantastic place for me and my friends to catch up with one another again in a relaxed environment. The location itself also helped as well, but the accommodation was excellent without doubt.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, well equipped ( apart from tongs - needed for the grill !). Directions were good, communication was good. Beds were comfy, shower powerful, heating easy to use.

We spend a wonderful week here. They accomodation is of high standard and very homely. The landscape is awsome. The location makes both the Lake District and the Dales National Park easy to access. Our daugther could blow some steam off on the little playground or by trying to pet the free roaming sheeps (who didn't want to be touched and gave her a nice chase). The owners are absolutely lovely and very friendly. They want out of there way and beyond to help us when we had trouble with a garage after our car broke down. This was the best holiday accomodation we ever had in the UK.

A great place for a family holiday. The kids loved being able to help around the farm. The owners were very friendly and were happy to allow our kids to help with the lambing and the horses. You really do not have to go far from the house; the nearby disused railway gives you access to wonderful scenery whether walking or cycling. The nearby trout farm was a good day out and provided a meal to boot.

This was an ideal setting for visiting nearby attractions. The owners and their family were very nice people and nothing was too much trouble. My family enjoyed the tour of the farm and meeting some of the animals. In passing we were always asked if everything was ok and did we need anything. It's these little things that make a difference.
