Stable Cottage is a ground floor, end-terrace cottage in the hamlet of Gatcombe, situated on a working arable farm. The cottage offers a double room with en-suite facilities and a twin room, an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with French doors. Outside, the patio has furniture and beautiful countryside views, and there is ample off road parking. Stable Cottage is a wonderful family base for exploring the Isle of Wight, all year round.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Area
The rural hamlet of Gatcombe is central to the Isle of Wight. Perfect for exploring the island, it offers wonderful bridleways for horse riding, mountain biking and walking; from light strolls across glorious countryside or tougher challenges along the downs. A selection of shops, restaurants, pubs to suit all tastes can be found four miles away in Newport.

Region
The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Stable barn was absolutely lovely.. Location very remote and peaceful everything is easily accessible on the island. Owner very welcoming . Extremely well equipped property. All covid cleaning procedures had been adhered to. We had an absolutely fantastic stay

Perfect in every way.. Steve was most welcoming and helpful - we were greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of Prosecco to complement our New Year celebrations. Fresh milk in the fridge was most thoughtful. The Christmas tree was beautiful and made Stable Cottage seem like a real home-from-home. Beds were comfortable and warm - we didn't need the extra blankets provided, even in December/January. Kitchen was well-equipped, although we mainly ate out so didn't need to make full use of all the utensils. My husband enjoyed completing one of the selection of jigsaw puzzles!

Comfortable and cosy.. Everything we needed for our week on the Isle of Wight. The only downside was a badly flickering light which meant we were unable to use the lights in the kitchen. Steve was helpful and friendly, told us he’d been waiting for the electrician for a month!

Fantastic family week in this lovely property, such a wonderful clean and homely place to relax in after a day exploring the island.. my only recommendation would be better mattress and bedding. as they are very hard, and the bedding a little thin. The owner is on hand to help with any problems, our Tv stopped working on the first evening, by morning we had a replacement (even bigger) so resolved very fast. we would recommend this place to anyone.

We most enjoyed be able to sit outside on the adjoining patio in the peace and quiet of the site.. I particularly enjoyed see the nesting swallows going in and out of the adjacent farm buildings, and also large numbers of swifts flying in the area. It was a shame the DVD player was not already connected up for the wet nights.

The Stables is highly recommended for anyone seeking a comfortable holiday base in a peaceful location.. It ticked all the boxes for us and proved to be an ideal location to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight. The farm in which it is located is exceptionally clean and tidy. Even the country lanes leading up to the farm have been recently resurfaced (no potholes!). Our only criticism is of the directions to the property given by Sykes. There are far simpler directions to the property from Yarmouth, Cowes or Ryde than those provided.

Stable Cottage was lovely, it was like home from home.. Beautifully decorated, clean, everything you needed was there. Owner, who lived on site was helpful and friendly. Location was fantastic, not too far from anywhere but in a peaceful valley.

We had a fantastic time the bungalow was nice clean comfortable The only two things you could do to improve the bungalow is to have a slotted spoon in the kitchen Also my daughter to care taker about putting a mirror down the lane so u see on coming traffic He thought it was a very good idea I would love to come back as it was very peaceful and pretty views and it was very central for getting around the island We didn’t want our holiday to end I will be telling my friends about the bungalow

Stable Cottage is at the end of a quiet lane surrounded by lovely countryside. There are many walks from the door. We found the cottage very warm and cosy with plenty of hot water and comfortable seating and beds. It was very clean and the owner is onsite if there are any problems (there weren't). We would love to stay again but are planning to get a dog soon and this property does not accept pets.
