Very comfortable little cottage in a quiet village ideal for walking out on to the moors or into the wooded valleys around the village.. A short, very picturesque walk (or drive) to Levisham station on North York Moors railway - which sadly was not open during our visit due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location Heather the owner was very welcoming and the complimentary cakes were a nice touch.the cottage it self was very clean warm and well stocked with every thing you would need for a pleasant stay. The Horseshoe pub up the road does fantastic food I advise to book a table it gets very busy. Would my wife and I come again yes for sure .if their is a p.s.the Loo seat in the cottage is a bit wobbly. But overall 10/10 .

The cottage is clean and comfortable in a great location for walking.. We took two dogs and the only small downside is that the advert states that it has a secure garden ,yes it does but it is not attached to the cottage but across a drive and is shared by other people with dogs. ,

I really wouldnt class this as a four star cottage at all.. The toilet seat was broken, the two seater couch is not comfy for two people to sit on at the same time. We had to pay £4.50 to rent a small and large towel. Ive stayed in sykes cottages before which had towels in it and didnt charge you to use them. The woman said all sykes cottage landlords charge rent to use the towels. This is not true and that is why we dont take towels with us.

The only comment I have - and it's not meant to be a negative one - is that the WiFi as advertised was very poor due to the slow broadband speed in the village.. No fault of the owners! I managed to connect to the internet once during the week. It didn't make any difference to a great holiday but I mention it.

The owner of the cottage was very friendly and provided us with everything we needed including a very welcome tray with homemade cakes.. The cottage was lovely and cosy and very clean, and the bedding was immaculate. The garden was well kept and secure so our dog enjoyed a good romp in it. The village of Levisham is very pretty with lovely walks in the surrounding area and the pub serves tasty meals and a nice pint. We look forward to a return visit to Stable Cottage

Situated in a quiet country village with an friendly pub (The Horseshoe) serving excellent meals (note at this time of year the pub seems to be closed on Monday and Tuesdays). We had a warm welcome from the cottage owners, with a tray of home made cakes and tea/coffee. Stable cottage is cosy and warm although a larger sofa would be more comfortable. There was everything for a self catering holiday in the cottage and there is a large upright freezer in the shed next door, so if you want to take frozen food from home it is ideal. A walk down to the railway station provided lovely views but beware it is very steep coming back. If you are not a vegetarian, try to find Glaves butchers in Brompton by Sawden - excellent fresh meat and pies. We did most of our grocery shopping at Lidl in Pickering but there are also local markets worh a visit (we visited Northalerton on the way to Levisham and picked up fresh fruit/veg and bread from there.Hope everyone enjoys the area as much as we did.

Very small cottage in a nice location. It includes everything you need to enjoy your holiday. Bath was a bonus after those long walks. The cottage is not owned by Skye cottages but lilac cottages, Levisham, just google and you can see all 4 cottages which are available. Sorry I don't have time today to write a longer review, message me if you have any questions. Enjoy your stay

Peace like they invented it in North Yorks and never told anyone else. Our hosts were so welcoming yet you felt like it truly was your property for the week. A great base to relax in, and readers should try a quick drive to York then get on the park n ride. A very well run service, Monk's Cross is the closest terminal!
