We have spent a really relaxing break at South View House and could not speak highly enough of the accommodation, location and owner. The house had everything we could wish for, exceptionally clean which was important in these times, central to all areas of the Dales. The owner was very knowledgeable of the area which was very helpful, we could not have asked for a better location or base to visit Yorkshire - thank you Sue we shall return

Comfortable and clean house, a great base for walking which we did lots of.. Really quiet, peaceful and relaxing house and village. Friendly owner lives next door who is there to help if you need her but doesn't intrude on your holiday. Would highly recommend if you like to get away from the crowds. Internet signal a bit weak improvement would be a great plus point.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage.. Very warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped, and we enjoyed the use of the back garden on sunny days. Lots of walks right from the cottage door, and it is very central for other places in the Dales. Wifi is a bit hit and miss, and ended up using all our phone data as it just wouldn't connect properly, but this was a minor issue. Would highly recommend for people looking for a quiet and comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings.

Southview Cottage in Redmire was just the ticket.. Whilst the weather was standard for the area, the cottage and its location could not have been better. Having stayed in numerous cottages in and around the Yorkshire Dales, this is by far one of the best and will be looking to revisit next year. Despite the obvious restrictions we all have had to face, the cottage was spotlessly clean and we all felt safe staying there. The Cottage was warm and its furnishings and furniture were comfortable. It is so quiet in the evening, has parking available and there is an excellent pub within 50 yards. Should anyone be tempted to stay at Southview in the future do not hesitate as it really is perfect

House is gorgeous, good quality furniture and also lots of kitchen items so you can cook! Beds were lovely too, no bad back this week! Area is good lots of great views and also amenities are close by too. Owner next door was lovely too, anything we needed was provided.

Quite basic facilities, no freezer for example.. Whilst cottage was very clean the bed linen was of a poor quality and the pillows smelt. New duvets and pillows and some fresh white cotton bed linen would have made all the difference.

We've just spent a week in South View and really enjoyed every minute of it. A really comfortable, well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet village. Loads to do in the area - we could easily have filled 2 weeks and not run out of things to do. Would definitely re-book at South View if we plan another holiday in the area. We were there with 2 adults & 2 children, and the space in the cottage was ideal - but with 5 adults it might feel a little cramped. Nice garden at the back to sit out in. Lovely views all around.

Our cottage was fantastic and we were greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which was a lovely surprise.. Considering it was dog friendly I was very impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings. The location was stunning and we would not hesitate to use this cottage or any other Sykes cottage again.

South View cottage is so cosy and welcoming.. The owner Sue has made it a perfect home from home to spend a wonderful week or two away exploring this very pretty part of the world. The village of Redmire is lovely, with Castle Bolton behind and in front a short walk away, is the stunning River Ure and Redmire Force. So many lovely places to visit on the doorstep. Loved it.

Cottage is situated in a great location for exploring The Dales and Moors.. Excellent safe enclosed garden for dog and plenty of areas to explore with a dog. Great pub very close and dog friendly. But, would recommend you book in advance as very busy for food which is highly recommended!! Be aware that the village shop is run by volunteers and the opening times are in frequent. Leyburn is very close for essentials. Recommend a visit to nearby Bolton Castle, However not dog friendly due to livestock and birds of prey.

The cottage was spotless and in a great location we will definitely be returning at some point in the future.. Only thing we missed was a tumble dryer but not a necessity.

We enjoyed a week in this spotless cottage, it had everything you could possibly need. The enclosed garden made it very safe for our dog and he loved it as much as us. The pub was within walking distance and the locals very friendly, can't wait to go back again.

The cottage was the best we have stayed in so far. Very well maintained, spacious, and well equipped. The garden was perfect for our dog being completely enclosed and lovely to sit in of an evening. Redmire is a very pretty village and having The Bolton Arms just a few doors away was the icing on the cake. We had a lovely week and would go back again to explore as a week was just not long enough.

Very lovely cottage, furnished to a high standard and one of the best cottages l have stayed in so far! The village it was in, Redmire, was also very pretty and very central to all surrounding attractions, Bolton Castle, Leyburn, Hawes, Aysgath Falls, to name but a few! The Bolton Arms Pub just a 100 yd away serves very good food and is very welcoming! and finally the owner of the property was a very nice lady and very helpful
