This is an excellent place to stay with everything provided. We were greeted with a welcome pack which was very good of Mike and Pat to provide. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Very friendly and Mike even went out of his way to provide the means to charge my electric car. It is well situated within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons and the waterfalls. Beaches are within an easy driving distance. I cannot praise this little cottage enough. Although it's small, only catering for two it is ample big enough. It has a lounge, bedroom and bathroom with a shower and a wood burner room. Caters well for dogs, though we don't own one, with two dog beds. We are certainly looking to book it again sometime. 10 out of 10for Mike and Pat and all they provide. Thanks for a lovely weeks stay.

It was wonderful very tranquil surroundings we took our dogs they loved it slahing away in the streams in the woodland But the actual cottage was fantastic everything you could possibly want was there and more .. It was absolutely spotless lots of little extras we had a cuppa tea and bread and butter when we arrived it was great highly recommend just could have had a few less showers.

Amazing place to stay and amazing location.. Hosts Pat and Mike could not do anything more for you, extremely welcoming and friendly and full of recommendations for local walks and places to eat. Added bonus that our dog was able to join us. Thank you so much.

Due to covid and easing of lockdown in Wales cottage met are expectations as we were aware that little extra touches re: soft furnishings, leaflets would not be available.. The cottage was very clean and had a supply of bleach spray, hand gel etc and we felt safe from the time we entered the cottage to when we left. It was well equipped and am unable to think of anything that was missing. The garden room was great to return too especially with 2 dogs who laid in beds provided by the owners, snoring after an adventurous time exploring. There are walks on the doorstep. The owners were helpful in suggesting places to visit in regards of off lead dog walking. I can recommend the 4 waterfall trail and Craig y Nos country park for both dog lovers and none dog lovers. I am unable to report on any eating establishments as at time of visit Wales had only started to open up to eating outside. This did not deter us and we found that the Ancient Mariner had a small café with outside seating serving breakfast which my husband enjoyed even of a plastic plate. I would stay at this cottage again if I was visiting this part of Wales in the future.

Lovely cottage, comfortable and cosy.. Plenty of kitchen essentials available, even a slow cooker. Took 2 dogs with us, who thoroughly enjoyed. Plenty of walks close by, and the outhouse is very cute. The owners were great, just left us to it but were there if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend and be visiting again.

Spent a delightful week at this cottage. It was the perfect base for all we wanted to do in South Wales. The owner had a fire going for us the day we arrived to make us feel welcome, and left some treats in the kitchen for us. It's the little things like that that made the holiday more special. Would most definitely return of holidaying in the same area again.

We spent 2 lovely weeks at Sied Yr Ardd in the lovely town of Ystradgynlais. It is very dog friendly and we found loads of lovely walks nearby. The owners Pat and Mike are a lovely couple and nothing is too much for them to do, we loved them. The local "hostelliers" were even more appealing. We found a lovely Cafe in town called The Loaf which made us very welcome, so much so we went back and back. We will be going back again next year to sample the delights of the local area. In our mind this is the far best rental through Sykes for 2 people we have had. Many thanks again for a lovely break.

This is our second time of using this cottage this year and again there was nothing that I could fault with either the place or the location.. It is set in an idyllic location with easy access to many featured attractions within easy travelling distances. It has good comfortable facilities and provides everything that you would need for a relaxing holiday. I would use this location again and fully recommend it.

We have two dogs and this cabin was ideally suited to our needs for a break in the Brecon Beacons hill walking and visiting local attractions. Best of all there are such great walks right next to the property for the dogs including a river. The property itself is extremely well equipped including a much needed electrical fan for the summer. The owners are very welcoming but stay out of the way unless needed. I would recommend this for a short break.

The cabin is exactly as described and offered us a great break with two dogs in the Brecon mountains.. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners offer a very good DVD collection should your activity be rained off. Overall a good cabin thoughtfully laid out with good facilities for a short break.

The super shed was lacking natural light.. Fitting a Velux window in the roof would be a big improvement light wise as we had to have the lights on all the time we were inside. The weather was terrible misty and raining so we had to stay in as we are senior citizens and my husband was not well. The shed was more suitable for bikers with the bike store area and garden room, who with a beer or two wouldn't notice the lack of light. The photos are a true record. The hosts were very good and helpful everything was spotless and clean the bed very comfortable. The goody's left for us provided our breakfast on the first day. milk, bread, butter, eggs, jam. tea and sugar. There was everything you need in the kitchen, had to get used to the combination oven/ microwave. lots of nice touches and a small garden with furniture. We went home early due to the weather and illness.

The 'garden room' was a fantastic place to sit, unwind and reflect on the day's activities; whatever the weather, sitting in the garden room was relaxing and comfortable - a great addition to the cottage. Hosts were very friendly and helpful and on-hand if/when needed. Cottage was very clean and comfortable with a small garden area for the dog to stretch his legs. Location was perfect for exploring the Brecon Beacons, Carmarthenshire and South Wales in general. Highly recommended - we had a brilliant week here in May 2018.

Such a shame only 3 people have written a review of this beautiful holiday home so simply had to contribute our own. We had such a lovely time staying here. Fantastic facilities, comfy bed, awesome sort and so much to do nearby. Loved the fire being lit for our arrival and Pat & Mike were so friendly. Loved the hamper left out for us - a welcome of bread, eggs, butter, milk, strawberry jam and welshcakes what's not to love? Just the ticket when arriving on a Sunday afternoon! We followed Mike's advise for local dog walks and places to go and all recommendations were spot on. Particular highlights were the nearby caves and also our walk/climb up Pen-Y-Fan - amazing views! Also worth mentioning how accommodating the home is for dogs. Fresh water and doggy treats left out for our arrival plus 2 beds to choose from in the garden Room - our little pooch was spoilt for choice! We'll definitely be returning here one day. Thanks Pat & Mike

Lovely little getaway for me, wifey and two little doggies.. Close to good walking routes in the beacons and 30 mins from Aberavon beach. All facilities you could ask for. Log burner and welcome hamper on arrival were highlights for us. We sent Pat a text when we were half an hour away, and the log burner had been lit for our arrival on a cold afternoon. Made the garden room lovely and warm. Thanks. Chris and Charlotte.

The quality of the cottage and the privacy it provided without complete seclusion allowed us to enjoy a fantastic restful break which we all four needed. The easy access to the town and the warmth and friendliness of the locals were the icing on the cake. The variety of locations to investigate and the snooze ability of the garden room were appreciated by all. Really fantastic in all, would score it 15 out of 10.

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Ystradgynlais. The property was amazing, catered for every need, nice personal touches including tea/coffee facilities and a really nice welcome basket. It was nice and private with option to eat outdoors in the sun or in secluded covered area. I left an electric toothbrush charger which they found and have sent it back to me by first class post at no cost. Well done Michael and Pat, thanks for a lovely week. Paul & Kath

My husband and i have just returned from a lovely week spent at this chalet. The decor is lovely and modern with everything you could want for a self catering holiday. Mike and Pat, the owners are very welcoming and provided a hamper on arrival. The garden room is a great add on and we sat out there every evening with our glass of wine keeping our dog company as he didn't want to move from the bed provided for him. It also meant that when we bought him back muddy or wet from our walks we didn't have to fret where we were going to put him. The property is ideally situated for reaching all areas of the Brecon Beacons and we did just that, going up to the Usk Resovoir across to Brecon and down to the Gower. All in all a lovely week spent in a lovely little property in a beautiful part of the country. We will definitely use again.
