Now here's a plan – go off-grid (but with a few modern comforts, of course) for a long weekend in Wells-next-the-Sea in this fairy-tale shepherd's hut within walking distance from the beach. We dare you to find a stay cosier and more romantic than this sweet little home. It's clearly been a labour of love for the owner, and the result is utterly charming - cute Cath Kidson bedding, a warming wood-burner, smooth wooden flooring, vintage mismatched crockery and playful nods to the home's location with sailing boat cushions and metal art. There isn't an oven, but get creative with the camping stove and you can still whip up an impressive feast. The home is compact, but you have plenty of space outside, with deck chairs to laze in and a barbecue. The historic maritime town of Wells-next-the-Sea is a short walk away, with its traditional fishing boats, fish and chip shops and eclectic boutiques.
Home truths: *Embrace the off-grid feel - there's no WiFI here
*The electricity is partially supplied by a solar panel
*There's a wood burner to heat up the home in colder months
* The kitchen is on the more basic side – don't expect to cook up big meals here
* The water pressure can run low during the busy periods when the campsite is full
