Ms Caldwell, October 2018
September 2018
Everything was thought of and more.. I had originally booked a week in May but had to change it the day before due to a family bereavement. Lisa was very understanding and agreed to move it to September. The cottage was very roomy for two and would still accommodate four comfortably. The views of Esthwaite every morning were perfect and changed daily, we had breakfast outside on a couple of days. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedroom cupboards contained ironing board, clothes horse, hairdriers, and there were toiletries in the bathroom. We didn't need to see Lisa much but she was very helpful by text beforehand and in person. I have recommended the cottage to several friends already and my grown-up girls want to stay there next year.
I stayed at Howe Farm over 10 years ago on business, loved it then, and remembered they had a cottage, so booked and have had such a relaxing holiday. The area is lovely, not as busy as other lakeland centres which was perfect, plenty to see in Hawkshead too - we ate at the Queens Head on three evenings, and Tower Bank Arms, in Near Sawrey for a couple of lunches and would highly recommend them both. A great base from which to explore a very beautiful part of the country.
