The Ironbridge Gorge is one of the country's most delightful tourist attractions; situated in a lovely wooded valley, the village has many pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms. A collection of industrial and Victorian themed museums make up the Ironbridge Museums, including the renowned Blist Hill Victorian Village, where you can step back in time. Enjoy the nearby medieval towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Ludlow, as well as many NT properties including Attingham Hall and Park as well as the fascinating Wroxeter Roman City and Vineyard.

We loved our stay in the Shepherds Retreat.. The farm was very beautifully kept and they were very helpful. We didnt need anything. We took our own camping rings as there was only a microwave and toaster, this could be added in to make it easier to eat healthily. The addition of a shelf for food above the sink would be good too as the cupboard was difficult for me to bend down into as I have a hip problem. The slippery mat on the floor caused us a few skiding issues too. (again easily resolved) What we loved - the shower and bathroom was great and we were surprised how hot the water was. The bed was comfy and we had enough bedding. The sofa was fine and the TV worked really well with no problems. We loved the location and enjoyed exploring the area and just chilling in the Hut when it was really hot. So peaceful. We did make it up The Wrekin so we were very happy to get back to the home comforts of the Hut to recover! And who wouldnt love Molly!

Shepherd's Retreat was a lovely, tranquil and pretty place to stay. A very functional abode with good access by foot to places such as The Wrekin and Ironbridge. It definitely lives up to its name and would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of time to unwind and relax.
