The cottage is amazing; clean, comfortable, peaceful and conveniently situated.. The owners have created a home from home, even providing bread, milk and delicious biscuits! We wish we had booked to stay longer than we did.

This cottage is amazing; clean, comfortable, peaceful and conveniently situated. The owners have created a home from home, even providing bread, milk and delicious biscuits for our arrival! It’s got a selection of games, books and dvds for when you just want to relax indoors. Outside the gardens are beautifully kept for you to enjoy too. It would suit all age groups. Unfortunately we didn’t get a glimpse of the local owl. We wish we had booked to stay longer than we did.

The Host went beyond the norm to make you feel welcome.. The cottage was extremely comfortable and in a relaxing quiet surrounding area and it has I would expect everything that 99% of what people would require.

The best thing about the holiday house was the number of books and games provided with it.. With 2 small boys and a smaller car than usual, it was really nice to get there and be able to keep the boys occupied without needing to put the ginormous TV on all the time. There was plenty for us to do too - in fact I'm tempted to return, just to read all the books and watch all the dvds that we didn't have time for! The grounds were also super and we managed to enjoy them a bit despite the autumnal weather. What really set this house apart from all the other good houses we've stayed in is that it was also extremely well located for our needs. The Bridlington railway station, Fraisthorpe beach, John Bull's World of Rock and a Bird of Prey attraction were all within a 4 mile round trip (with older children and better weather, we may even have considered walking this distance in rambling gear). We had a week full of great days out during very changeable weather - taking in Scarborough Castle, Sewerby Hall, Hornsea Museum and Town, the World of Rock, Fraisthorpe Beach, Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs.

It's almost unknown for me to give full marks in every aspect, as there's always a place more deserving.. Shepherd's Cottage surpassed our already high expectations. Great location; the most friendly and helpful owners; high-quality furnishings, fittings, and equipment - a really well-maintained property. We thoroughly recommend this cottage.

I don't think the photos on the website do this property justice and the owners couldn't do enough to help. Everything we needed was there, and the garden was immaculate. The barn owls hunting in the field directly behind the cottage were the icing on the cake. We will be back. It is a fantastic place for a family holiday with a supermarket five minutes away and within easy reach of all Yorkshire Coast attractions.
