Settlebeck Cottage is a lovely terraced cottage on the outskirts of Sedbergh. On the ground floor is the kitchen with dining area, and the cosy sitting room. Outside parking can be found by the roadside, and just a minute's walk away is a river pool and a small park, perfect for relaxing on a warm afternoon. Settlebeck Cottage is ideally placed for enjoying both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, making it a great year-round base.

Area
Sedbergh - pronounced Sed-Ber – is an ancient market town situated in northern Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself boasts narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and a famous school, dating back to 1536. There is also an atmospheric 12th Century church. Dentdale is located amongst rolling hills and stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the heart of the dale is the town of Dent, which has existed since Norman times and is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, horse riding and fishing. With such incredible scenery and so many fascinating trails, the area is a great place for walkers and cyclists. This, together with the surrounding valleys and two National Parks, makes Sedburgh a fantastic spot for a holiday outdoors.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

A pleasant cottage in a convenient location.. Sedbergh is a lovely town surrounded by excellent walking country. We had a great week there.

We had a very good holiday in an excellent cottage.. The weather wasn't the best but that is not down to Sykes. The only improvements we can suggest are that the kitchen could do with one or two things extra, such as a pair of scissors; and the over bath shower in the first floor bathroom needs to be fixed so that it is adjustable for taller people.

It's a lovely comfortable cottage in a great location.. Sedbergh is a smashing village with good pubs and eateries. The Three Hares is a must for coffee and cakes etc. Being a real ale man I can recommend the Red Lion and the Dalesman. Both are easy walks from the cottage. We discovered several walks including one starting across the main road reaching up above Sedbergh to a waterfall. Sarah, the manager of the cottage, was very helpful.

Stayed here for a week in May 2015 - very nice cottage with everything close by - Windermere only 30 mins drive away. Very good central location for visiting some of the beautiful locations associated with the lakes. Cottage has everything you could need - just like home from home. Would recommend to anyone.

The cottage itself is lovely and beautifully furnished, and the owners were very helpful and gave us lots of advice on where to eat etc. The cottage is ideally located and the walk into Sedbergh itself is pleasant and not too far.
