St Ives might be slightly off the beaten track — well, by England's standards at least — but its stunning coastline, art galleries and critically-adored restaurants make it the very definition of 'well worth the effort'. If you want to see this pretty little corner of Cornwall for yourself, you won't get a much better place to stay than this recently modernised house. Inside, the combination of white walls, house plants and simple furnishings make for an unfussy and instantly welcoming space. Where it really comes alive is in the small but well-kept garden, which can be admired from the conservatory, patio seating or, of course, the hot tub. When you can prise yourselves away from the bubbles, you'll soon find that the location is excellent, too. It takes about seven minutes on foot to reach Porthmeor Beach, while the Barabara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden can be reached in under ten.
Home truths: *There's parking space for two cars at this home, as well as a long stay car park two minutes' walk away
*The king-sized bed in the master can be separated into twins if necessary, while one set of the beds can be joined up
*The hot tub will only be up to temperature the day after arrival
