The owners of Rose Cottage, made the cottage very comfortable, and thought of everything you would need.. Good Location for walks,& sight seeing. Would certainly go back again. The Brownlow Arms pub, in Caldwell served.very good food, with a great menu, and reasonably priced.

In terms of health and safetyl the lighting could be improved .. Preparing food in a dimly lit area is not safe. The vathroom is also dimly lit. It is nice to be able to see your face as you wash it!!

This is a compact and cosy cottage on a farm with a few caravans parked on site.. It's situated between Richmond and Barnard Castle. We found Barnard Castle extremely busy and impossible to park even with a blue badge. But we enjoyed a trip through Teesdale and a great day in Swaledale where the country views are lovely although again it was difficult to park in the villages. We loved the area when we were able to walk and found it no longer quite so suitable for us. I dare say this is a perfect base for walkers. The site is flat so we were able to stretch our legs through the campsite each evening. The cottage has comfortable seating and a lovely big shower as well as a large kitchen/finer where we cooked our meals but there are lots of recommendations of places to eat out if you prefer.

Rose cottage is set in a beautiful location, on a very well kept caravan park, with a big field to take your four legged friends for an early morning run.. The owners are on site if you need anything, they have a little shop in case you have forgotten that bag of sugar or milk etc. Even home made doggy treats. Location is ideal for exploring Teesdale and Yorkshire national park. Comfortable furnishings, big kitchen, no stairs, everything on one level. Great place to stay.

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it.. Rose Cottage is very comfortable, in a quiet rural area with lovely views from the driveway of the complex. It is well positioned with Barnard Castle and the lovely town of Richmond a short drive away. Also the Yorkshire Moors and Dales not far away. Give it a try I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Rose Cottage was an ideal home for our holiday.. Accommodation was very good and in great condition. Couple of issues we raised with the owners were dealt with promptly and professionally. The park itself was quiet and calm even when kids were playing. A great relaxing holiday base and we would certainly consider returning again. Highly recommendable.

A beautiful, peaceful setting for a home-from-home base for exploring County Durham and the Yorkshire Dales.. We were left to ourselves, but there was always someone on site for help at any time, and the limited number of caravans and cottages gave it more of a 'family' feeling. A really useful feature was the 2-acre field on-site for exercising the dog, providing space for children to play in, and a quiet bench under a willow to watch the sun set with a glass of wine and a book!

Beautiful quiet countryside all around the site yet easy access to reach main roads to reach the areas attractions.. We visited Beamish, High Force and Low Force waterfalls along with a walk around some of the local towns but ran out of holiday time to cover half the things we wanted to do so a repeat visit will be a must.

What a lovely property set just off a country lane surrounded by a plethora of lovely villages not to mention a amazing pub 1 mile down the road.. The property is very spacious with all the facilities and amenities at hand to make you feel just at home . The owners are very accommodating and welcoming being at hand should you require them, all in all a recommended cottage for a small family wishing to explore the local area.

Comfortable cottage, the owners were helpful and were there if needed. They had left extras, such as washing-up liquid, cooking oil, salt pepper, tea towels, sewing kit, tin foil as well as a welcome basket with tea, coffee sugar, etc. All these things were unexpected, but were a lovely surprise.
