Rose Cottage is absolutely gorgeous.. It had everything we needed and more. The beds were so comfortable and the heating, including under floor, was sufficient that we did not need to use the log burner. There is a lovely garden with patio furniture that you can enjoy in good weather. There are games and dvd's provided which is a good thing as, Lazonby is an ideal location to reach the lake district, Carlisle, Penrith etc, but it does not have a lot of amenities. There is an excellent supermarket but unfortunately the pub was only open 3 nights and only did meals on 2 of those. Although there are excellent pub/restaurants within a short driving distance. I would definitely recommend this cottage

Rose Cottage in Lazonby was precisely what I needed for short stay to go fishing with my son.. Conveniently situated for grocery shopping and easy to find following clear and explicit directions. Penrith is only a short drive away to find any luxuries that cannot be obtained at the Coop in Lazonby and there are a number of very good F&B establishments close by serving good wholesome food. Not forgetting a fish and chip van that visits once a week. Very clean and comfortable.

Cottage was lovely very warm and cozy.. With log burning stove that was great one we got the knack of lighting it. Very comfortable with excellent facilities. Situated in a small village, but with good size Co-op to buy messages. Also has a train station that can be used to for days out if no one wants to drive. Has nice garden with table and chairs that can be used in the good weather. If taking a pet don’t let it out in garden to run around alone as they can escape through small gap in fence at the side of garden and down the stairs (this was the only negative thing about the whole cottage) Would recommend staying there as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The cottage was fantastic.. The décor was excellent, it was extremely comfortable and the log burner was fantastic. The cottage was clean, tidy, well located and had lots of useful amenities. The only issue we had was around heating and hot water, as there was no heating on arrival other than the log burner. This was "fixed" on the Monday, but broke again on the Tuesday, after which we had no heating or hot water. This was a real shame as the cottage was excellent!! Fortunately the wood burner kept us warm, and the lack of hot water was more of an issue than the lack of heating. I would highly recommend this cottage when the boiler is fixed!!

Spotlessly clean & exceptionally well equipped.. We really enjoyed our week at Rose Cottage & would certainly recommend to others. Extremely cosy & comfortable in every way. Very handy village shop & several pubs serving good food in nearby villages, but none in village itself. A lovely quiet part of Cumbria to enjoy the scenery & wildlife.

Everything is provided in Sykes cottages & Rose Cottage was a marvellous stay; very private, with all necessities within the cottage.. Perfect for a getaway from urban life, and hassle free; no reception, or operators, just get on with your holiday. Definitely choose Sykes again. Perfect.

A beautiful and very comfortable cottage with all mod cons to help us enjoy a lovely holiday.. The village of Lazenby was lovely with lots of amenities including a lovely little outside swimming pool/lido which we used as the weather was amazing.Beautiful scenery and a great spot from which to explore the stunning countryside and villages etc and enjoy lots of walks.

The booking experience was excellent and the cottage itself perfect for a week's getaway.. Not only a really lovely cottage in a cosy village, but the owners were very friendly and approachable and really helpful. Judith especially wanted to know if we had had a good time and I had no hesitation in saying yes, yes, yes! Also, the pub in the next village of Kirkoswald, the Fetherstone Arms was excellent with attentive service, friendly staff and outstanding food. This break had it all, and in a wonderful rural location. We will definitely be re-booking the same place very soon! Thank you again.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a great Location close to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.. Lots to do in the area. I recommend a trip on the Settle - Carlisle Railway, supermak Station is a short walk from the cottage. Good little supermarket in Lazonby. Best pubs in Kirkoswald approx. 2miles.

Beautiful cottage but location wasn't as good as we had hoped for.. Would recommend to others but unlikely to rebook as we like to try new locations.
