Roan Cottage is a wonderful, semi-detached barn conversion, situated on a working beef cattle farm two miles from Royal Wootton Bassett. Set solely on the ground floor, this charming cottage has a double room, a twin room and a shower room. There is an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area and outside, there is a shared, lawned garden to the front with furniture, a lovely spot to enjoy dining alfresco. There is also off road parking for two cars and set in a beautiful location at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, Roan Cottage is perfect for a family break or a getaway with friends. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

Royal Wootton Bassett is a friendly market town, located in north Wiltshire, at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills. Close to the Gloucestershire border, the town benefits from a weekly market and there is also a good selection of local inns and shops. This is an ideal touring base.

Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was comfortable and clean. Everything you could ask for. My little Yorkshire terrier enjoyed the enclosed paddock to run around in. The welcome gifts were appreciated. It was also close to amenities. It was a good base for family to meet up with us and to travel around visiting the lovely villages around. We will definitely be going back again. The farmers and locals were also friendly. A bonus too was having lovely weather.

Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage on the outside of a farm with a few houses nearby - .... Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage on the outside of a farm with a few houses nearby - very quiet and peaceful - it also has Brindle Cottage attached to it - loads of space for 4 adults and a dog so not over crowded - shops about 3 miles away

Sykes has once again lived up to it's high standards.. We have never been let down by yourselves and were delighted to find Roan Cottage just as we had hoped. We would have stayed longer if we could. Alison and Simon (the owners) were friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to book another holiday with yourselves - Roan Cottage is high on the list!!!

From arrival to the end of our stay we were in complete relaxation.. Great location and hospitality and left to our own devices! The only thing I can say about it was the cottage was excellent, one thing was odd, that everytime the lamp by the TV was switched on when the TV was on it turn the TV over to the DVD.. .

One of the best equipped cottages we have been to.. Owner made contact to ensure everything was ok. Park only a two minute walk away which is great with a dog yet you are only minutes away from the centre of town.

Roan Cottage was extemely clean and comfortable and when we arrived we found Alison and Simon had left us eggs, milk and apples from their garden.. They'd also left some doggie treats and a towel for my dog, Snoop, which has never happened in all the years we've used holiday cottages. I'd also sent a text asking about dog friendly pubs in the area and Alison had left us a hand written list which was very helpful. We'd definately recommend this cottage for it's home comforts, location and the thoughtfulness of it's owners.

We stayed at Roan Cottage with our two dogs for 1 week. The cottage is in a great location, close to a lovely country park and only a couple of miles off the M4. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, warm and cozy. It has everything you could wish for in a holiday let. It is extremely well equipped, whether you're staying a couple of days or a week. The welcome goodies were very appreciated. Even our dogs were catered for with welcoming treats, bowls and towels for their use. When I needed to contact the owners with a question, they responded very quickly which was great. I would recommend this place 100% and we will be staying here again.

A thoughtfully, well-equipped, clean and very comfortable cottage; greeted with welcoming little extras.. The owners were unintrusive yet readily available if required. Beautiful location and a great touring base. A variety of supermarkets and restaurants a short drive away. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

This place was fantastic, a real home from home.. Lovely touch by the owners leaving some chocolate and some dog treats & they were very caring and attentive with calls and text messages. We loved it that much that we have already booked to go again next year. I would highly recommend this place as a base if you want to just relax and watch the world go by. You could also get to Bristol in 45 minutes which we did. Swindon is a few minutes away too. You can do as much or as little as you like.

A lovely holiday home just 2 homes together on a working farm - beautiful countryside - can get 2 a lot of places from here - it was home from home with everything that I'd need including washing machine and dish washer ..

This was a great cottage especially for someone with restricted mobility.. It was in a great location, quiet clean and comfortable. The owners communication was great and the little extras were appreciated and a surprise. We enjoyed so much we have just booked it for next year

Needed a comfortable and affordable base to stay for work commitments during the week and to combine visiting nearby family in the evenings and weekends. Location was spot on for our needs. Access details and directions were easy to follow, information from the agent and owner beforehand was good, information inside the home was fabulous. This home is clean and very well equipped to make it a perfect home from home, with all the comforts that are handy for a weeks accommodation such as the full fridge / freezer, washing m/c and handy dishwasher. We had cold nights but the electric panel heaters coped well - there was adequate bedding, towels and a blanket. The owners left a welcome pack of eggs, milk and biscuits that were most appreciated. thank you - likely to return if available and we have similar needs in future.

There was plenty of parking space and a well maintained garden. The cottage is in a very pretty village location with a long vista from the front over fields to the M4 motorway.

The cottage was impressively clean, well equipped and brilliant for anyone such as my mother whose mobility is somewhat impaired.
