Redwood is a fabulous, detached property located close to the heart of Broadstairs and within a minute walk of Stone Bay, and can sleep eight people. This cottage has a super king-size double bedroom, a ground floor king-size double bedroom, one upstairs twin ( two adult single beds), one ground floor twin ( two single beds), a wet room with basin and WC, a ground floor bathroom, a separate, ground floor WC, a ground floor shower room, a kitchen with dining area, a utility, a sitting room with an electric fire and a children's playroom. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a fully-enclosed, lawned garden with patio/decked area, furniture and a barbecue. Redwood is a lovely base for your holiday.

Area
The historic town of Broadstairs, known as The Jewel in Thanet's Crown, offers Blue Flag sandy beaches, hidden cobbled streets, cliff top walks, Bleak House, which was once the Summer home of Charles Dickens, shops, butchers, bakers, tea rooms, gift and antique shops. Close by is the town of Ramsgate and Margate, whilst further afield is Canterbury and Dover.

Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.

The property is secluded and quiet, yet the promenade and sea is at the bottom of the road and the centre of Broadstairs only a few minutes walk away. There is off road parking for two cars, while the inside is very clean with all amenities. There were plenty of suggestions for what to see and where to eat in the notes provided, and the owner was extremely helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely bungalow.

We love Broadstairs and Redwood is perfectly positioned to be close to the beach but with good privacy and parking facilities.. The Housekeeper was very helpful and friendly and the house almost perfectly appointed. There were some minor quibbles about the fact that there are no toilet roll holders and things of this sort but overall we were very pleased with our holiday. Stone Bay, the nearest beach exceeded expectations with good facilities and lifeguards on duty who were very helpful and also vigilant. The ebach was fairly clean except for a few barbecue ashes from earlier parties.

Only request please put a mirror above the dressing table in the double room up stirs waste paper baskets would be good as well ! Great place to be! Close to the beach and walking distance to the pubs and shops. In the area there are enough things to do. The house has a lot of space with all you need. The bathrooms have been redecorated and are very nice .

The property was extremely well equipped.. Can't think of anything that wasn't provided. The location couldn't have been better -----we went on the beach every day. Sunshine and ice cream on the beach at Christmas --- what more could you want?! The kitchen was great, very good quality appliances-- that was important as I spent a lot of time in it. The only thing I would say is that the first time I used the oven it smelt as though it needed cleaning. I cleaned the racks and that seemed to improve things. Maybe that could have been done before we arrived? Overall we were all very happy and had a great time.

The information from the landlord was helpful an informative both before we traveled and in the house (including leaflets for different appliances which helped! ) There was a problem with the heating but as soon as we raised the issue with the landlord arrangements were made to send someone in to sort things out - so we were very happy with how this was dealt with - particularly as we noticed the issue late Friday afternoon.

A super property that is so close to the beach and a stone's throw from town.. 15 minutes' drive and you can be roller skating or taking in the Turner in Margate. This is our fourth year here and it is hard to imagine going anywhere else.

Excellent accommodation with everything you could wish for provided - even down to bucket and spades , beach towels.. There were plenty of glasses, pots and pans , nothing left wanting. Beds were extremely comfortable too. Its location is ideal , within easy walking distance of Broadstairs with its amenities and great beaches. Owner provided high chair, travel cot and stair gate which were very useful as my 2 grandchildren stayed with us - the playroom went down really well with my 4 year old with plenty of toys for her to play with. ( not so many for boys though) All in all , we had a great week .

This property is in a great position, with only a five minute walk to the sea, or 10 minutes to the town and is in a very quiet area. The bungalow is reached from Dickens Road, up a narrow entrance drive but then opens to a parking space enough for 3 cars. The kitchen is really well equipped and caters for 8 people or a mixture of adults and children. It is fully equipped with a dish washer and the washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room next door to kitchen. The living room is big with plenty of seating, and has a Sky package for the TV. Also, on the ground floor is a playroom with toys and puzzles and another TV. The two bedrooms on this floor are a double and bunk beds with 2 bathrooms. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a huge bed, plenty of hanging space in the sliding door wardrobe. The other bedroom has two single beds with pull out beds underneath. The bathroom upstairs has a large shower, but the rest is very small and you will bang your head on the sloping ceiling over the small sink. There is only one mirror upstairs which is on the floor of the bedroom!!!! Very difficult to do hair, and impossible to shave. The bathrooms are have been recently updated, but feel they haven’t been finished off as there are no toilet roll holders and no where to put toiletries in the showers other than the floor. The other 3 bedrooms have no wardrobes to hang clothes. There is a large shopping area called Westwood within a 5-10 minute drive and includes 3 good eating places. There is a Toby Carvery, The Hooden Horse (Hungry Horse), yes it is the right spelling and The Canterbury Bells, and all reasonably priced meals. We didn’t go in to the town to eat so can’t comment on this. All in all a really lovely place to stay.

We stayed as a group of two families of four with young children. Stayed a few nights to bring in the New Year! The house was very clean and extremely spacious - plenty of room for four under 7s to play in - the kids' room was an added bonus! Bedrooms very large, several bathrooms and a large kitchen. Minutes away from the beach which was perfect. Highly recommend.

Redwood is perfectly situated near beach life with stones bay at the end of the road and Viking bay 3 minutes walk.. We thought the house was superb for our needs a party of 4 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 2 years. The play room is a real bonus and all the toys and books and beach toys were great and well used. The family had a superb stay in Redwood.. One or two suggestions. With an active walking eleven month old it was difficult to relax in the garden with all the steps. Maybe it Would be possible to place a small fence and a gate between the front wall and the house wall. It would be safer too. Maybe a stair guard at the bottom and or the top of the open staircase. The fire in the lounge with the coals was very interesting to the little man. He handed the coals to us but could quite easily thrown one and hit the television screen. Maybe a small fireguard? The playroom was enjoyed and used daily. We did not manage to put anything in the Guest Book but would have recommended Redwood highly and would come again in the future.

Bathrooms generally need updating with regard to decoration.. The tap in the first floor bathroom barely delivers hot water and the room could do with a decent mirror. These are relatively minor points which could lead to improvement but did not spoil our stay in the property. We tend to cook when we are away and we found that the kitchen was well equipped. However one essential requirement which was lacking was oven gloves. With the weather being so foul during our stay the excellently stocked playroom kept our 21 month granddaughter (and all the adults) amused!

Wonderful place to stay for a quiet holiday so near to the seafront. The house is well equipped and modern but very comfortable. It is positioned off the road with ample private parking. The sea is at the bottom of the road and the shops a few minutes walk away. We regularly have self catering holidays and rate this one as excellent for all the facilities and it is very clean.

The location is quiet and private. Ideally situated to town for shops and restaurants which for us as we had no car was a convenience epically being within walking distance from buses and trains. The spacious rooms and the three bathrooms were great, quite rare in a four bedroom property.

My Mother has mobility limitations but she coped very well in Redwood and there was a lot of attention to detail and little extras that made us feel very welcome. We were visiting family in Ramsgate and chose to rent this property in Broadstairs as a trial, having always stayed in B&B's or hotels on previous visits. As three adults sharing a four bedroom house with three bathrooms between us, it was ideal, spacious, with all the facilities we could wish for, very well equipped with appliances, utensils etc. We were very impressed at the attention to detail with fresh milk in the fridge on arrival, bottle of sparkling wine, crisps, tea and coffee, several items in the larder, all the cleaning materials if we needed them. We had brought these things with us but need not have bothered! (Couldn't find any egg cups though!) Great to have the very large TV in the lounge. Also the WiFi Internet access which installed instantly without fuss, unlike other systems we have used elsewhere. The beds were comfortable with good quality mattresses. Only thing missed in three of the four bedrooms were wardrobes, although all had a hanging rail, we missed being able to keep our things tidy and out of sight. The shower in the wet room upstairs was difficult to use as water was not draining away quickly enough, and the area is too small to dry yourself. Fortunately there was a choice of another two showers downstairs which were fine. People with limited mobility would have trouble getting up and down the narrow open tread stairs and when using the wet room. We particularly liked the location which is at the end of a private driveway, no traffic noise, not overlooked, even though there are other houses around it. It is only a few minutes walk down (but up hill on the return) from everything the town has to offer and the cliff top path at the end of the road. We loved Osteria Posillipo Italian restaurant in Broadstairs, highly recommend it. It is obvious Redwood is geared towards families as the play room is a great idea, overflowing with things for kids to do even if the weather is bad. It makes an extra sitting room for adults too. The house is in very good condition and we hope other visitors will continue to treat it with the respect it deserves. It would be a good idea to have prior knowledge of access, particularly to the first floor, for people with disabilities.
