A lovely cottage lovely and clean supplied with everything you need.. The only small thing I would like to mention is that the sofas were not comfortable apart from that excellent

Fantastic!! Clean, comfortable, bright, warm, so many extras like kitchen ware, towels, welcome pack . There were even games & dvds to play/watch. Owners suggested some of the best places to visit or eat at. Very convenient location with a lovely walk down to Westward Ho itself. Couldn't have been more pleased with this find! Bravo!

Lovely holidqycottqge with amazing views and short walk from the town centre and beach.. Hearing the waves from the house (even though a fair distance) was amazing. Clean, comfortable and the owners were fab with dealing with requests etc. Definitely recommend as a base to explore beautiful north Devon.

Absolutely stunning bungalow! Lovely quiet residential area, and even at a 2-year-olds pace, only a 15-20 minute walk to the beach! The property is beautifully decorated and furnish, and the owners provide very detailed instructions on everything from using the TV to putting the recycling out. I would be incredibly proud if this were my property!

It was a lovely cottage in nice surroundings with a sea view, friendly local people and easy to travel to other places of interest.. Cant find many faults except on arrival there was not the traditional welcoming pack, and as there were no dish cloths, scourers or kitchen roll so we had to pop out and buy some.

Pheonix Cottage met all our expectations.. Very comfortable cottage, we would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely cottage to anyone looking to spend their holiday in North Devon.

This cottage exceeded our expectations in everyway! The cottage was really spacious, extremely clean and tidy, fantastic appliances and utensils. The beds were really cosy, we have 3 young children, they loved staying here. We really enjoyed heading down to the nearby beach in westward ho! Where there are lots of places to eat and drink and also plenty of shops for groceries. It's also a really convenient location to explore other places and areas, we spent a day at Arlington Court which was a 40min drive away, the kids loved this and also the day trip we made to Croyde beach. We will definitely stay here again, everything was superb!!

Lovely clean cottage that to our surprise felt cool despite the summer heat.. Kitchen well-equipped (only negative was the position of the sink which made it hard to wash and dry at the same time). There are TVs everywhere with a Freesat connection. A radio in the kitchen would be nice (funnily enough the only room without a TV). WiFi works well but drops off rapidly outside living room - hard to use in back bedroom and even kitchen - probably because it is locked in a metal box which doesn't help transmission. Garden would be hard work if you have small children as the raised patio means you would have to constantly keep an eye on them. A bigger double bed (it is just a 4'6" standard double) in the main bedroom would have made us much more comfortable, especially as it was hot, and we hate beds with footboards as you can't stretch out (property loses a comfort point for this) - I'm 6' tall, so hardly a giant. Overall felt roomy and comfortable despite being a bungalow with 3 adults and 2 teenagers in it and we would happily return.

A lovely cottage, very clean and tidy and contained everything you could need for a family holiday.. It was very much a home from home.

This is a quiet property on a quiet estate in a quiet small town, which is more of a base than a destination in itself (uinless you are a surfer.. ) Good clean neutral coloured decor with mainly nautically themed attractive pictures and nick-nacks. In addition to the living room, there was a TV in all 3 bedrooms plus the conservatory all with built in DVD players. Plenty of DVDs, books and games in the cupboards for a wet day in. The bathroom isn't illustrated but offers a roomy easily accessible corner shower with curved quarter-circular sliding doors. This accommodation is suitable for persons with limited mobility but be aware of the following: There are 7 or 8 shallow steps (with a good hand rail) leading from the allocated parking Vehicular access is indeed tight maybe requiring a longer walk to the front door - however I got a Jaguar X-type estate in with care. Highly recommended for a relaxing break away with plenty of attractions and larger destinations within an hours drive.

A lovely cottage to rent, very comfortable and modern in a quiet location but not far from all the amenities at Westward Ho! Also within easy access to many places to visit

The only fly in the ointment was the dog in the house next door was a nuisance, .... The only fly in the ointment was the dog in the house next door was a nuisance, he barked when we came in, when we went out and if we were in the front garden

Very good standard. Excellent facilities, home from home really. We really felt very comfortable during our stay. There is not any play area in the small garden, some of which is out of bounds as it is a raised area. It needs to be made clearer that the bungalow is in a residential area as we thought it was on a holiday park originally. Good location to get to adventure parks The Big Sheep and the Milky Way which are brilliant for younger children. We enjoyed our stay here.

A very clean pleasant property in an area we love.
April 2015
lovely quiet location, immaculately presented modern and spacious property, feels more like staying as guests in someone's own home than a holiday cottage

What a fantastic place to stay, home from home with everything and more for all your holiday requirements. The directions to the property are spot on and easy to find which was a great start to our holiday. All rooms were furnished to a high standard, the kitchen had everything a family would need and more. There are also games, books and DVDs to keep everyone entertained in the evening. From the front of the bungalow there are great views of the sea in the distance. Westward Ho! has plenty to do what ever the weather and plenty of eating places for all tastes. Will certainty be visiting again.
