We we really disappeared with the way that we were treated initially by your company in cancelling our first booking.. Having been in touch with my bank I was informed that there was no reason on their part for you not to take Automatic payment for our final balance. To send me two important emails to my junk mail was unsatisfactory. I check my regular inbox daily but like a lot of people don’t always do the same for my junk mail and then to take payment 3 days later for the rest of the deposit. didn’t help with customer relations. Your response being that I should check that a payment had been made! However I was very happy with the alternate acccomodation suggested and would return again if allowed to book through a different company. We were 13 miles away from my daughter who had the other shepherds hut which could have been better for my elderly parent. Please sent my congratulations to the owners of Penlon for their excellent facility which helped justify the extra cost incurred.

It is one of the nicest holiday lets we have stayed in.. Very well equipped, the property layout was one of simple yet practical homely comfort; a lovely location too. We were over on business as well as a short holiday and have decided we'll return for a full break in due course. It exceeded our expectations. Thank you

Our second stay at this pretty cottage in a lovely setting not far from Aberystwyth seaside town and cliff railway, and the cake of Rheidol Railway!

The cottage was even better equipped than expected, such as hairdryer and tea/coffee provision in kitchen, lots of towels and bedding.. I really appreciated the quiet location especially at night. Warmth and seclusion are important to me which I found at this cottage. My twenty-something daughter and one year old granddaughter were also very happy at the cottage.

If you are looking for a "romantic" holiday then you do well to miss booking Penlon because with Bunk bed downstairs and Twin beds upstairs sleeping arrangements are NOT very romantic at all.. Don't think to yourself that you can push the twin beds together because they are thick pine and there is still a gap between them so you can not make them into a double bed. As for the bunk bed the least I say about that the better (the scabs on my head tell the story) !!! If, however, sleeping in twin beds and bunk beds doesn't bother you then this is the place to book. At 07.45 am there is the rush hour to contend with - well...….three cars heading left to right!! (Lol) and then the odd (and I do mean odd) car or tractor during the day and the rest of the day you can sit and listen to the silence. Watch out for the Red Kites and Buzzards that fly over the cottage every day and make sure you go to the Butterfly Farm that is just down the lane. If you need to use your mobile phone you might well find yourself out of luck as the signal comes and goes (mainly goes!).

The cottage was immaculate on arrival and we all commented on the excellent standard of fitting out work throughout. We would certainly love to book this cottage again. The location is ideal for visiting the coastal towns and also for walking the beautiful Rheidol Valley.

The cottage was in a beautiful spot. Everything was clean and tidy, there was plenty of cutlery, pots and many things we have not had in other cottages we have stayed in. The owners were very helpful and we would recommend the cottage as an excellent place to spend a relaxing holiday.
