Lovely accommodation.. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you could need. Sarah and Rodger where lovely and nothing was to much for them. They were helpful in every way. Hopefully we will return in the not to distant future. Only thing missing was a hot tub but Sarah said they were going to look into one.

There was no local information in the cottage i.. E to local supermarket or garage or pubs and restaurants. We thought that even in these difficult times, the information could be laminated so easy to clean off. Even so we found our way round and would like to re-visit in better times.

Parsley cottage was a little more than I expected, it was spacious, clean and bright.. Patio doors onto the garden which is a good size, with the added bonus of two ponies in the field at the back. The cottage is well stocked with everything needed in the kitchen. The owners where very helpful. We rang one night to ask for starter pack for fire in which he brought over straight away and even showed us how to light it, also had a glass of wine with us. The peace and quiet there is lovely could of stayed another week. When I got home I booked the cottage for another week next year. Would recommend.

Lovely, well equipped converted barn.. Everything you need In the kitchen is is provided and is of good quality. Easy to work Cooker/oven. The garden area is a good size for a couple of children and/or pet. A small dog or puppy could fit through the fence panels though but it is a big field on the other side so they would be ok but ideally the panels could do with being replaced and a little closer together. The field usually has a couple of ponies in it. There is a lot of wild life in the field too. Remember you are in the countryside, close to woods etc so expect to see the odd mouse running around the garden. The soft furnishings could do with updating, i.e. Curtains that fit and close fully, better quality pillows and cushions. There are plenty of DVDs to watch and books to read. Set just behind Lancaster Golf Club this would be ideal for golfers. There’s a lovely little village (Glasson) close by which has a little marina. You can have a lovely walk along the canal or along the Estuary on the other side. You’re also only a 15 min drive into Morcambe Bay. All in all we had a lovely, relaxing few days away and would definitely go back.

Parsley cottage and the cottage complex is lovely.. The living room is large and bright with a double height ceiling and large patio doors to a private garden. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining kitchen is well equipped with loads of space to cook. The location is rural but only a 10min drive into Lancaster. The cottage has the added bonus of 2 friendly ponies in the field at the back. The cottages are right next to 2 golf courses so a great location if you are a golfer! Overall the cottage is excellent value for money.

The cottage was fine for us with our Two dogs.. There are walks from the cottage. The garden centre round the corner serves food until 5pm and dogs are allowed inside the cafe the food excellent. There is a golf centre around the corner with a bar and a lovely seating area outside non members are welcome. You need to take your salt, pepper, coffee tea sugar dish cloths as no welcome pk Would stay there again

I was very impressed when I asked Roger the owner for a writing table which he provided.. As I am a disabled person I met him before my departure and suggested that with a few minor additions Parsley could be marketed as being very suitable for disabled users like me - a grab rail in the down stairs toilet - a modest ramp to the front door - to replace the low level wood table on the recess with a normal height writing table, and maybe with one high level arm chair. There is a growing demand for suitably adapted properties for disabled people.,and such modest additions might increase the user of this property which would be of of commercial benefit to him The spaciousness of the man living room and kitchen enabled me to use my mobility scooter with ease , as well as the spacious car parking . I plan to return again , and will be recommending the property and its location. We were also particularly impressed with the location and the proximity of a garden centre with a high quality cafe. Lovely spacious cottage, very clean, with everything you could need.. Perfect for the dog who loved the ponies in the paddock. Excellent café in the nearby (2 mins) garden centre. Great to be able to walk to Glasson and Lancaster from the cottage along the coastal path.

Lovely cottage - cosy and calm place for trips to the bigger cities around and not far to the Lake District.. Private parking place and the cottage had quite enough space for us.

I cannot believe the feedback on the other 2 cottages, how clean they are.. The feedback on parsley cottage is not so good. Soon after I booked the cottage I read some bad reviews and rang Sykes to voice my concern. After speaking with the owners Sykes rang me back and assured me everything would be ok, the owners knew when we were going and the cottage would be clean. The cottage appeared clean when we arrived and I started to unpack. I then started to notice the cobwebs hanging from walls and ceilings all through the cottage. The bottom of the wardrobe inside was like a carpet of dust, I have photographs to prove it. We cleaned every part of the cottage except the upstairs that we did not use. staircase which was filthy and the chimney and vaulted ceiling which we could not reach. All the doors were thick with dust and also the pictures, heavily coated in dust. This was not just weeks but years. The fan in the bathroom was so dirty it could not work properly. This was not just dirty it was a health hazard. The windows were filthy inside and out, everything needed painting and TLC. The approach to the cottage was difficult with overhanging bushes catching on the car and it all needed a good sweep also the doormat outside was disgusting. The cottage itself was roomy and in a wonderful location, it's a tragedy it is in this state. This is the first time I have complained about a cottage, but this was so bad. I have rung Sykes who promised to ring me back, but I have had no phone call. I won't be booking again.

I was really worried about this cottage judging from some of the feedback but really needn't have been! The cottage is lovely, bright and airy and very spacious. Ok so it needs a bit of tlc here and there...velux blinds don't close completely, upstairs bathroom door doesn't close properly and a bit more dust than I would have liked to have seen in the upstairs bedroom. No the curtains don't close downstairs but there are blinds which do. The backs not overlooked so no problem. The cooker hood didn't work but we never cook on holiday so wasn't an issue for us! Good outside space with the bonus of 2 ponies in the paddock out the back which our 2 year old loved! There is a good sized Garden Centre 2 mins walk away. Its close to Lancaster and Morecambe. A really lovely cottage in a good location, we would stay again.

We have three holidays a year with Sykes Cottages and have never had cause for complaint.. However, Parsley Cottage was such a let down! First night, the fire wouldn't start, it was choked with ashes and hadn't been cleaned out, the clock didn't work, a tie back was missing the other curtains wouldn't draw together as not enough material in them. In the kitchen, the extractor fan didn't work, the hob was temperamental, the oven was dirty, some dinner plates and dessert bowls chipped. Not a welcome pack in sight, the first time we have ever been to a cottage without a welcome pack, not even a teabag! We went upstairs to the bedroom and the velux window blind wouldn't pull down, the other window blind pulled down but the material came loose, out of six coat-hangers -two were broken, the hooks on the door 'flew off' when we tried to hang anything on them, what really ruined our holiday were the beds, they were so uncomfortable, after one night we moved to the downstairs bedroom and the bed was just as bad, so much so, we came home one day early as we just didn't want to spend another night on these uncomfortable mattresses! Such a shame, the cottage (which is an end of three) was spacious and in a lovely location, it just needs to have that holiday feel, a few repairs and some T.L.C.

I have never had to write a negative review for one of Sykes properties before but here goes.. Parsley Cottage is a lovely cottage well equipped and reasonably comfortable.I might not be writing this review if the owners or managers of the cottage had read previous reviews. The cooker hood/ extractor fan does not work, also mentioned in a previous review. The oven bulb does not work which makes it difficult to see when using the oven. The fridge door is still broken so you can not put milk etc in there. The freezer seems to have difficulty with its door due to badly fitting cupboard and kick boards next to it. The sink it the upstairs bedroom is still cracked and there is also no towel rail in there. You have to fight with almost every room door to get them to close properly which must be very noisy for our neighbours. There is no bath mat or shower mats in the downstairs bathroom which makes it slippery. There is no information on recycling glass paper etc, maybe Lancaster does not recycle! It’s such a shame to say all these negative things about the cottage but with a little bit of care and maintenance it would make the property a 5* instead of a 3*. After saying all this we did enjoy our holiday in Lancaster but no so much the cottage.

I travelled with my wife and 13 yo daughter.. The cottage was very comfortable with lots of room and an enclosed outdoor area which was great for our dog. The cottage is in a lovely, peaceful location and the fantastic Lune estuary footpath is a short walk away. Some great places to eat nearby!

Lovely location near to cycle paths and coastal path.. Garden Centre nearby serves fabulous breakfasts and lunches. We think there should be a clearer sign indicating where the barn is located. It is tucked away behind the row of barns you see, on the left, on arrival. A local resident, realising we were lost, came along to point us in the right direction.

Great location and an excellent cottage where we could relax for my wife's 60th birthday weekend and also close to her best friends who live in Bolton le Sands.. The cottage was very spacious and very well equipped and comfortable with everything that you needed. It was only let down slightly with the odd broken item in the kitchen with the white goods (fridge door milk bottle stowage etc). We will definitely be visiting again for another stay.

The cottage was lovely and we had everything we needed.. Spotlessly clean and once we'd got the heating sorted out, it was lovely and warm.

Myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Parsley Cottage.. We planned and enjoyed lovely days out from leaflets and advice provided in the cottage. We would certainly recommend Sykes cottages to family and friends. Thank you to you all for a lovely holiday.

July 2018
Cooker extractor fan didn’t work, upstairs toilet door didn’t close, most door handles require maintenance, no cloths/dusters provided to clean up with, 5 interior bulbs were broke, exterior windows needed a clean, too many cobwebs for our liking and a shame that the washing machine was located in a outhouse had to be shared with neighbours.. Otherwise ok, however we would not return here.
Mrs Danskin
July 2018
We had to contact owners who were helpful as one of the velux blinds would not close and there was no DVD player as advertised and the microwave didn’t work.. The owners did attempt to resolve our issues. However there were a number of other issues I didn’t raise st the time as they were not quickly resolvable. Issues included: Windows were very dirty with lots of cobwebs around the house Decor was tired Only one bedside lamp in downstairs bedroom Small number of random sized glasses Onky 5 coat hangers in each bedroom Sink upstairs was very cracked and needs replacing No towel rail next to sink in upstairs bedroom Garden was unwelcoming with grass mainly weeds and no tubs / flowers etc

April 2018
A nice clean comfortable cottage where we would gladly stay again if seeking a cottage in that area.. One or two improvements could make it better still. The garden fence needs to be made secure for small dogs, we had to keep ours on a lead. We were told there were plenty of walks, but there was no information in the cottage as to how to get to them or any directions to enable one to follow the walks. It is only the second cottage we have used without a Visitors Book.

I have been to Parsley cottage 3 times now so that speaks for itself we love it there.. Lovely cosy atmosphere, owners are friendly & helpful. Good walks for the dog.

I actually booked this cottage by mistake, thinking it was another cottage I had previously looked at.. Well I would just like to say what a happy mistake it was. I loved everything about the cottage. It was a very cold spell when we were there, but the cottage was so warm (no expense spared by the owner keeping us toasty warm). The facilities were really good and I would definitely stay there again. Only a little point is that I didn't take my hairdryer as I expected there might be one. (I didn't actually ask the owner so there could have been one somewhere). However, we had a wonderful weekend.

Everything! The accommodation was a Barn Conversion finished to a very high standard and in an ideal location for those wishing to relax, walk in the surrounding countryside and just a few miles from historic Lancaster city centre. We have booked holiday accommodation with Sykes several times now, and have never been disappointed with the level of service received or the quality of accommodation booked and have no qualms about using Sykes in the future or recommending Sykes to our friends :-)

We booked this accommodation because it's near Lancaster university for visiting my daughter loved it & will definitely go again.. Loved the donkey at end of the garden . Really nice stay.

October 2016
The only fault with this accommodation is that the division to the neighbouring property is not suitable for dogs.. A simple line of young fir trees does not provide a barrier. It's a shame as all other aspects of this Cottage were exceptional very clean, spacious and well equipped. A simple wire mesh fence would make it perfect.
Mrs Dufty, October 2016
September 2016
The owner has a donkey in th field behind the property which was braying all night, this will put people off as it wakes you up 2 or 3 times a night..
Mr Turton, September 2016
August 2016
Everything was fantastic, the cottage even has a friendly donkey, two goats and peacocks as neighbours! It just so happened that the chap who owned the property was building a wall down the lane so he helped us in terms of where we could walk. We were hoping for some local walks that could be accessed and I do believe the website did say this, however they could only be accessed by a rather dangerous road with no path. However , was a still fantastic location, cottage was beautiful and we have rebooked with Skye Cottages again in November
