However, the newly opened Battersea branch of the Northern line opens up the rest of the city to you, while there are plenty of convenient bus routes serving more off-the-beaten-track destinations. There are plenty of things to do nearby, including going for a riverside walk in beautiful Battersea Park, a couple of minutes away. Cross over the Thames, and you'll find bustling Chelsea within a ten-minute walk, with its upmarket shops, vibrant bars and fine dining restaurants. Alternatively, hop on the bus and head to Clapham for a lively village vibe, while lively Brixton is one of London's coolest cultural hubs – both are around half an hour away.
