My family and I stayed and the end of summer. It was a beautiful house with real charachter. There was a lot of space outdoors for the children to run around. We found the house clean with all conveniences one expects. The owner left a cake and some other items to welcome us, which we really appreciated. There was not internet but we had sufficient network reception to send and recieve emails at the end of a day touring the area. It served us well as a base to visit some of the Beara way and to Caherdaniel. Kenmare also is a beautiful down with some fine restaurants. We most enjoyed, however, taking food to-go to eat at Oak Wood. It is just a quick ride to the town but you need a car to visit this part of Ireland. The house has a real sense of peace. When we are back to Ireland, we will visit Kenamre again and hopefully this lovely house.

The owner called us a couple of days prior our arrival to let us know where the key to the house was kept and also advised that the standard check in at 3 pm is now delayed by one hour due to Covid 19.. Meaning extra time for cleaning is required. When we arrived we were stunned by the view, it seemed this was exactly what we could expect for €730 for 4 nights. Our excitement was quickly replaced by disappointment the moment we entered the house. The table and kitchen counter was still dirty from previous guests, same with floors and couch which was covered with a blanket full of crumbs. Bits of food in dishwasher and mould in the fridge. I spend first hour cleaning the kitchen so we could use it. The worst part however is the terrible smell coming out of the upstairs bathroom which was out of service. I have contacted the owner about this issue and his reply was that a cleaner (?) had called a plumber the day before our arrival because there was a drip from the shower and a bad smell and that he was sorry that the smell has returned a day later after the plumber was there. Absolutely nothing has been done about it. The smell was so bad and it was coming into the whole house even through closed door and extractor fan being turned on for the whole time, we kept all windows opened during the day but nights sleeping in this terrible smell were dreadful. As mentioned on the other side the views were amazing and we loved the fire place in both living rooms. I would not return or reccommend this cottage to anyone following our experience. Not worth the money we paid whatsoever.

Lovely house.. Really cosy. Fantastic view. Highly recommend it. Bit of a trek up the mountain if walking back from kenmare with the kids.

The house location was not correct as per the listing.. The house is about 5km from where it was on the map which was not ideal for what we had planned for the weekend. The house itself was great with beautiful views.

This was one of the best parts of our trip to Ireland. The cottage is nestled up a quiet road about 7 minutes outside the village of Kenmare The views are absolutely marvellous. There is space for sleeping 6-7 people though for us, it was just a couples get away. During the day, we went out to explore the 'Ring of Kerry', the Killarney National Park and Dingle, coming back to the cottage in the afternoons to relax and read in front of the fire. When we arrived, the owners had left us some fresh milk, a folder full of brochures with things to do and an apple tart to enjoy with a cup of tea! A lovely, welcoming touch. The town is a lovely spot for dinner or even a quiet drink in a pub. The locals are lovely and very helpful to tourists such as ourselves. The house has a big kitchen with everything you might need. The laundry is full equipped with washer and drier. There is plenty of space, even for a large family. For this location, you do need your own transport. My only feedback would be the lack of wifi. As overseas guests, we had some planning done online and being able to access the bookings and information online from the cottage would have been great. All in all, a great location for couples to have a quiet romantic getaway in one of the most picturesque regions in Ireland.

We had a great week at Oakwood.. The cottage was amazing - clean, modern and great appliances. My children (12,10 & 8) loved the garden area. The beds were very comfortable. There were quite a few midgies so take precautions! Overall a gorgeous cottage in a gorgeous location,
