Area
The South West Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surround the charming market town of Bishop's Castle. The ancient town hosts a weekly market as well as a wide range of shops, pubs, and restaurants. The yearly Real Ale Festival, Tandem Triathlon, and frequent festivals and fairs, such as Party in the Park and the particularly renowned Michaelmas Fair, are all well-known. The town is in a fantastic location for walking and seeing the Welsh Marches, rural Shropshire, and North Herefordshire, as well as the fascinating and well-known cities of Montgomery, Ludlow, and Shrewsbury. Powys Castle, the Severn Valley Railway, and treks along Offa's Dyke and The Shropshire Way are just a few of the neighbouring attractions.

Region
A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
