The cottage was exactly as described, and very clean and tidy.. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The location was great for exploring the area too. Highly recommend this cottage. Garry was super friendly and couldn't be more helpful.

We really loved the cottage, the views were beautiful, the place was very clean and cosy, especially with the log fire.. The wine and chocolates the owner left for us was a lovely touch. Would definitely go again.

New Cottage Farm is a well-equipped, comfortable and attractive place.. For those wanting a great base from which to explore the area (including an excellent walk around Three Shires Head) and to visit the locality, it is pretty much perfect. The local Cafe/Shop is fantastic and safe too. It really is a five-minute stroll from the front door. Sadly, the pub had not opened yet, which is understandable. Following lockdown and reports of local viral spikes around the UK, we didn't plan to go anywhere but walking from the house. The area is so lovely, a week wasn't long enough. My family and I (2 adults and twin 12 year old girls) didn't want to leave. Even the view from the front of the cottage is stunning. We saw buzzards, stacks of butterflies and even a stoat. The weather is very unpredictable at the peak of the Peak District, and we got our fair share of the wet stuff, but that view never disappointed. The cottage is tidy and it's clear the owners want people to return. The owners are friendly and attentive. We'll be back although...whilst advertised in an "isolated position" it is only a driveway's length from the main artery into Buxton. Those expecting total solitude and isolation could be disappointed. You can hear the road from the cottage, but it's generally imperceptible once inside, and the overall experience is one of peace and calm. We loved it.

We had a fantastic 4 nights at New Cottage Farm, our Family of 5 with kids aged 2,9&11, were well catered for with comfy beds & cot to games and books.. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need and is very comfortable. Buxton is only 10mins away with everything you might want available. We went cycling along the Monsal trail to Bakewell and walked around Lady Bower Reservoir having a great time doing both. We finished off with a meal at the local Knights Tale pub and Breakfast at Flash Bar Stores Cafe both were really good and very close to the cottage. We will definitely return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and cosy cottage and having a beautiful Christmas tree in the lounge added an extra special touch for our festive escape..

Lovely house set with beautiful views across the peak district.. Very nicely appointed, clean and spacious. Only downside was the property was described as isolated which it kind of is, but was located 30m from the main trunk road which was very noisy at times and spoilt the isolation.

We have just returned from an absolutely lovely week away at the peak district, The cottage was just near the village of a flash, which is a Tiny little Village, and boasts being the Highest Village in England, the views from the cottage are breathtaking, the cottage itself was cleaned and prepared to a high standard, and there was all the little holiday essentials that you could need, I.. E fuel , wood etc for the fire, washing up liquid, Tea towels, Bath towels that sort thing, and the cottage is so cosy and warm and each window has different beautiful view, which we will miss very much, We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who came to see us to make sure we were settling in and he told us about the history of the place, which was very interesting. The cottage is a about a 15 min drive to the lovely charming town of Buxton, where you are sure to find somewhere nice to eat as there are lots of pubs and cafes, and also the pavilion, which boast a little river running through, and 2 good size parks for little ones and older children. We were struck by just how friendly people are, not just in Buxton, but Generally everywhere we went. The weather especially in the village can vary as you are situated around 1518 high so it's kind of like being on a mountain, but we were so lucky to enjoy such lovely weather all except one day when it rained, but that was part of the fun. I recommend you bring your walking shoes/ boots as there are so many beautiful walks and hills, which are all unique but some walks can be a challenge, and if you have very young children, a child back carrier is a must as some of the Amazing walks we did were absolutely not suitable for a pushchair, but if you dont fancy challenging walks, then their is lots of Gorgeous towns to visit and so much to do for everyone. We cant wait to come back again this year as there is still lots of things we would like to do and lots more places we would like to visit. Derbyshire is a wonderful place and extremely beautiful, we have made the most wonderful memories here.

The cottage was very comfortable and we had everything we needed.. However I would like to mention the breakneck stairs ?! The cottage is a new development within an old "shell" so that the outside looks like and old pair of Two up two down cottages. However inside this has been transformed into a three bedroom cottage. Therefore I thought it a same that stone stairs which had been created were very steep and irregular in height. Both myself and my pension age parents found them a struggle. Next year I will pay more attention to the description of the stairs !

This is a lovely comfortable cottage with stunning views from every window.. Very clean, nicely decorated and it had pretty much everything we needed - the games and kids magazines came in handy when the weather took a turn for the worse! Many thanks also for the welcome pack of wine and chocs. A great base to return to after exploring the local area - recommend Ramshaw Rocks, Tittesworth Reservoir and The Silk Museum at Macclesfield. Would certainly consider this property again for future holidays.

Absolutely brilliant location to enjoy the wide range of things to see and do, eat and drink :) Had a lovely holiday! ! Do think the directions need to be clearer though....

New Cottage Farm is a lovely cottage with panoramic views.. There are several good walks from the location and many places to visit. The nearby pub, cafe and shop are an extra benefit.

Lovely clean cottage, with everything that you could possibly need.. Originally I thought the lack of WiFi and phone network would be an issue, but actually it just made it better. No interference from "daily life" and the perfect place to escape to. We hope to come back next year!

The cottage was terrific.. It had been renovated to a lovely high standard with roomy and well equipped kitchen, bedrooms, living, & dining rooms. The fire was lovely and even though we were there in summer, it was a great feature to enjoy every evening. It is in a wonderful location for exploring the beautiful Peak District. The only problem was with the directions to find it. The postcode took us past the cottage, and down a turning. It would have been clearer to say it was 500 yards before the hotel, and if possible to have a larger sign.

Having booked many self-catering holidays over the years, I'm all too used to the reality not living up to the publicity. Here, if anything, it was the opposite. The cottage is spacious, well-equipped, clean and tidy. The rooms are much bigger than the pictures suggest, and it's good to have decent amounts of storage in each rooms, as well as a spacious bathroom. The location is stunning - even when the weather is variable, the views are breathtaking. This is the ideal place if you want to get away from it all.

This cottage was our home for a week and it was perfect. It's been renovated to a high standard and the owners have given careful thought to its interior with a lovely modern theme yet retaining the 'old barn' feel with some of the original features. For visitors staying with younger children there is a high chair and plastic tableware. They've also included a thermos for hot water if you need to warm a baby's bottle or food when going out! It's ideally situated if you're planning to go walking and is also great for trips into Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth to name a few. There are lots of family friendly pubs around the area all of which seem to offer good quality food and local beers (The Lazy Trout near Tittesworth Reservoir, The Duke on the outskirts of Buxton and the Store/Cafe close to the cottage does a good breakfast!) Everywhere we went we were struck by how friendly and helpful people were, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Super cottage-isolated except for pub, shop and riding stables but that was all we needed for a walks and card games holiday! Perfect.

The Cottage was beautifully clean and very well equipped.. Tastefully furnished and everything you need for a family with children. No garden but the patio area and views made up for that! We went in August and had mixed weather, the fog surrounding the cottage some mornings was magical. Perfect. Perfectly positioned for all the local visitor attractions - within an hours drive for Heights of Abraham in the beautiful Matlock Bath, Chatsworth, many National Trust properties, Pooles Cavern just down the road, numerous walks! Buxton is a gorgeous town and the cottage was 15 mins drive away.

The views from the cottage are superb, and the standard of the accommodation was excellent with everything you could reasonably need provided. The location is great, close enough to Buxton should you require shops, restaurants and people but remote enough to offer a feeling of isolation if that is what you prefer. As a base for Peak District activities it is ideal. The owner was kind enough to meet us and let us in, and though we were only staying for a couple of nights, we were treated to a Christmas tree, chocolates, wood for the stove - the works. All of this combined with the snow-covered fields made it feel very special, and a great way to round off our Christmas holidays. We kept remarking how the cottage was like a tardis, compact on the outside, spacious on the inside. The decor was pretty and modern, but the stone walls, the steep staircase and the old stone trough at the window all recalled its past life as a farm cottage. All very cosy and comfortable, with one caveat : the staircase is extremely steep, and made of stone. I did worry slightly about sleppwalking kids taking a tumble. Perhaps a stairgate for the kids' bedroom door?

The cottage was rather tardis-like; much more spacious on the inside than I could have believed from the outside! The views were spectacular (especially in the snow), and the wood burner made it feel really cosy and magical. Also, difficult to explain, but the cottage really felt like a 'true cottage' with its deep stone sills and chunky beams.

The location made touring very easy. The cottage was lovely and clean, with plenty of room for both seating and dining, plenty of slouching room for our tired legs!

Very clean, comfortable and quiet..

We had a difficulty locating this cottage as the "Traveller's Rest" pub on the instructions turned out to be called "The Knight's Table"! A recent name change it seems but very confusing nevertheless. The cottage was excellent, nicely decorated, clean and tidy, comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and a very nice welcome pack which was much appreciated. We were lucky with the weather and we were able to make the most of the amazing views. Lots to do around the area and we enjoyed a couple of good walks, just wish I had taken my bike! Highly recommended.

The position of the cottage was amazing with spectacular views all round. It was near to the main road but the double glazing in the cottage was sufficient to block that out. On the other three sides of the property there were rolling hills and valleys as far as the eye could see. Fantastic location! The wood burner made the sitting room very warm and cosy.

The cottage was perfect. It was like home from home as soon as we arrived. The owner was very kind. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the whole house was cosy and warm. It is very close to Buxton and other towns; an ideal situation to get away from it all and relax. We will be back again.

This cottage is a superb place to stay.

This cottage is a superb place to stay. The rooms are large and furnished to a high standard, maintaining a homely feel. We rented through Sykes Cottages, but also met the owner, who explained the history and how he renovated the cottage. He was also very thoughtful and accommodating, in that he cleared the deep snow with a JCB - so that we could enter the house! We had a wonderful week and would certainly recommend it to others. Buxton and Leek are close by and there are interesting local walks. The New Inn at Flash, serves great beer and is a traditional Derbyshire local pub. We would certainly like to return to this house in the future.

The location is just fantastic near to Buxton and other places to visit. Ideal for walking and the local pub sells amazing food and very warm hospitality. The owner of the property was very welcoming and met us at the gate as snow very deep. A welcome pack of bread, butter, wine and chocolates was most welcome after a long drive. We would certainly go again.

The cottage was the perfect setting for a quiet break with picturesque views from the bedrooms. It was finished to a high standard and had everything we need including a baby gate so the steep stairs were safe.

Rented this cottage with my children and my Mum. We had a fabulous week. The weather was reasonably kind and we were able to get out every day. But to come back to this lovely property was the real treat of the holiday. Beautifully decorated, fantastic facilities with a log burner to keep us cosy. An excellent pub as well right on our doorstep for tea every evening with a landlady who welcomed us with open arms and invited the children to the private Halloween party they were throwing for all the local children. We hope to return and take Daddy with us next time.

This is a delightful cottage. The site of the cottage gave it excellent views over miles of countryside. Although isolated it was literally a 5 minute walk to the shop. It was close to many of the tourist sites that we wanted to visit. The cottage has been restored to a very high standard, the lounge in particular was very comfortable.
