Millstone Cottage is a lovely mid-terrace cottage situated in the market town of Ulverston. Set over three floors, this cottage sleeps five people and has three bedrooms, consisting of one king-size double, one second floor king-size double and one second floor double, as well as a bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and a gas fire. Outside there's a front patio, rear courtyard and roadside parking is nearby. Millstone Cottage is a convenient base for exploring this part of Cumbria, as well as the magnificent Lake District National Park.

Area
The market town of Ulverston offers a street market every Thursday and Saturday, a number of events throughout the year, the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. The Furness Coast is nearby and boasts sandy beaches and birdwatching, and the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common are within reach.

Millstone Cottage very well situated and extremely close to 6 or 7 really good Pub/Restaurants.. Tesco Local 2 minutes away. parking was available every day except on arrival but the car park opposite was free after 6.00 pm and was there as a backup if street parking (using the provided permit) wasn't available. Beds really comfy and the place was easy to keep warm in early October when it quickly turned chilly in the evenings. The cottage is very cosy but because of Covid restrictions cushions and books and DVD's have been removed so it's worth considering bringing such items as you require. WiFi was excellent and plenty fast enough for emails, Facetime etc so communication with friends and family was great. Ulverston is a great base for the Southern and Western Lakes and the Northern Lakes if you don't mind a bit of travelling. Some excellent walks locally around the town too. We would highly recommend Millstone Cottage and as a couple of Septenagerians we never struggled with the stairs!

This was our second visit to Millstone and we loved it.. The cottage is cosy, clean and has all the facilities you would need for a comfortable week away. Having good wifi and the luxury of TVs in each bedroom was a particular strength as far as our teenage children go, and we loved the warmth, the addition of board games, the lovely bathroom and the well kitted out kitchen. The hosts were very helpful as well. The location is absolutely ideal with shops, cafes, pubs and good walks all within a few steps - we didn't use our car at all during the week, which was an added bonus. Would highly recommend!

Prefect little cottage ! ! It was clean, neat and tidy and warm. Everything we asked for, cot and highchair available for our 7 month old. Kitchen was well equipped , but they was so many place to eat out in Ulverston, I only cooked breakfast and two meals. Bathroom is wonderful. Perfect position only two minutes from the town centre where you can get everything you need.

Our stay at millstone cottage was absolutely fantastic, no issues at all the cottage is a credit to the owner Gemma ,cannot thank her for a very good stay.. the beds were very comfortable the cottage was well equipped, with everything you need. very close to Ulverston town centre. you get a parking permit for your car with unlimited parking. which is a bonus for ulverston. infact the cottage is a credit to the owner . we strongly recommend this cottage to anyone

Millstone Cottage is a very comfortable and cosy cottage.. We loved the surprise Christmas hamper, mulled wine and Christmas decorations! The owners were super helpful, and got back to us straight away when we had some questions about the heating. They also let us check out a bit later which was much appreciated, thank you! It was in a great part of town, easy to walk around the corner to shops, cafes and some great pubs. The L'al Churrasco tapas restaurant and the Rose and Crown were fantastic! We had a fabulous Christmas holiday in the cottage, and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended. 10 out of 10 to Millstone Cottage!

The owner sent me a text the day after we arrived to check everything was OK which was excellant customer care and very thoughtful.. The standard of everything in the cottage was very high. It was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would recommend Millstone Cottage and go consider going back. We had a lovely holiday. The location was great, convenient and very quiet.

Kendal is a lovely town, excellent shopping.. Ulverston town is very quaint with so much going on it's so interesting. Food really good in the Stan Laurel Inn. The Laurel and Hardy museum is small but interesting.

We had a really lovely stay in Millstone Cottage.. Ulverston is a small,friendly but vibrant town. Everything you could need was there. The Cottage itself is beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed for our stay and more really. The owner was extremely helpful when we needed it. After very heavy storm we arrived to find no electricity. I contacted the owner to ask if it could be a power cut or if I had missed something. She was straight onto it and gave us an answer within minutes having contacted the electricity board. Couldn't have been more helpful. We have 3 children ranging in age from 19 to 9 and when everything is provided to keep them happy and entertained you are doing something right. Well done. We would definitely book this again.

A great cottage in a great location. It was perfect for visiting my family who live very close by and it is good for reaching all the amenities of Ulverston. Parking using the visitor pass was not a problem. The house has a great bathroom and everything was in good order. The kids loved the WiFi!
