Really enjoyed our stay at Mead House , the property is beautifully done out with high gloss tiles and oak which adds to the luxurious feel of the property which is over 3 floors its very spacious ,it was very clean and the owners were on hand if we needed them , nothing was a problem ! from the moment we stepped inside we saw the effort that the owners had gone to to keep their holidaymakers very safe during covid-19 We will definitely book Mead house again .

Clean comfortable accommodation, safe and secure, close to town centre and train station for ease of exploration of nearby cities of Durham and Newcastle etc.. Spotless, well equipt property, way beyond our expectations. Housekeping deposit refunded in full within 6 hours of departure.

Before I start I want to point out that we've stayed in a number of cottages over the years that we've booked through Sykes, but Mead House has got to be one of the best yet! The house was spotless on our arrival with fresh Tea, Coffee, milk & biscuits provided by the owners, nice thought. We found the fixtures & fittings all to be of good quality with the furniture and bedding all very comfortable with the extra large double giving a good nights sleep. The open plan layout was surprisingly cosy and relaxing with the benefit of the washing machine being downstairs we were able to eat or watch TV without the noise disturbing us. As a base for exploring the local area we were able to visit Middlsborough, Durham, Whitby, Gateshead & the wonderful Beamish Museum as all are within an easy drive. As a side note if you are planning a visit to Beamish do so at the weekend as they are usually "themed", with our visit was based on past transport. Overall highly recommended if you are able to manage the layout of the house over 3 floors.

I don't even know we're to start with this property it truly is amazing! There's not a thing out of place or a bit of dirt anywhere this house is cleaning from top to bottom and that's coming from someone with Ocd. There isn't a thing you could fault with this property there really isn't. It's a pretty luxurious place to stay. Everything you need in there for your stay. I will defiantly be returning back here soon and will be telling everyone how nice this place is.
