Accomodation Details
One mezzanine double bedroom with en-suite bath, hand-held shower to use sitting in the bath only, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.

Area
A.E. Houseman's poem, “A Shropshire Lad”, called Clun “the quietest place under the sun”, and with its dramatic ruin of a Norman castle, Saxon church, the bustling river which flows under the 14th Century pack horse bridge, and two country inns, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills.

Region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Small cottage in lovely location. Open plan lounge/kitchen and double bedroom in roof space but roof light makes it so light and ventilated. Downstairs is open plan lounge and kitchen with small south facing courtyard out back ideal for two dogs. Well equipped. Within a few minutes walk to the river and village centre with couple of cafes and two pubs. Weather was so hot we didn't venture far with dogs but they loved the dip in the river and the ford. Would certainly recommend this cottage for a short break

Maybe we should have known but we were not aware that induction cookers do not have a grill.. The one in the cottage was also very difficult to turn on the hob "plates". Is this usual? It was also lovely to get home where we only have to turn off the kitchen taps not have to keep screwing them down to stop them dripping being older it was very difficult with our old wrists. Sorry if this sounds like a fussy complaint but we have never had these problems before in fairness most of the people in the guest book seemed very happy and said they would return.

This is a lovely little cottage on a quiet road on the edge of the village and only a short walk to the centre.. Parking is easy and there is a sunny little courtyard garden. The interior is very comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. We have stayed here several times and absolutely love the surroundings. The local residents are friendly and there are pubs and coffee shops within a short walk all selling good quality food and drink. Country walks are possible from the front door and the grounds around the castle are ideal for dog walking. We love it here and don't hesitate to recommend this little cottage.

Having sold our house we were unable to move immediately into our new home.. A holiday let of this exceptional standard was the ideal solution allowing life to carry on as normal for the whole family (us plus 2 dogs). To arrive and find that the kitchen is stocked with every appliance you would have at home and a few more was the icing on the cake.

The log burner is the only way to heat the property and they want you to replace .... The log burner is the only way to heat the property and they want you to replace the logs you use, in all the cottages I've stopped in I have never had to replace the gas of the centre heating, to many rules regarding dogs, they expect you to lock you dog in the kitchen and they are supposed to be dog friendly

The cottage is in a good location, on the edge of the small town of Clun with walks into the hills and woodland straight from the front door..

Just returned from another lovely stay at Marigold Cottage in Clun.. This was our second stay at Marigold and everything was just as perfect as the first time. The cottage is spotlessly clean and there is everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. Its on School Lane so it can be busy when the mums and dads are taking their children to and from school but other than that its in a very quiet location ideal for fabulous walks and two very good pubs serving good quality food. The town of Clun is a very friendly place and dogs are made very welcome. Hope we will be making our third visit soon.

This was a great little break that me and my 35 week pregnant partner really needed .. The cottage was the perfect accommodation. The village was lovely with 2 pubs in walking distance . The only shop is a spar which is a little expensive but we only needed to take a 20 min drive to Ludlow where there is both a Tesco and an Aldi. We took our little dog teddy An he really enjoyed it although we would have like to do a bit more walking as we could see the was some great routes. We are even thinking of having a little break when our baby boy arrives as the cottage would be a perfect base for us with everything we needed.

Would recommend this cottage for a cosy Winter break in a lovely peaceful village.. The log burner was really great and a huge supply of logs provided along with plenty of hot water and central heating. The village has a good pub and shop. Thinking about returning in the Summer.

As lovely as the wood burner was, if we let it go out the cottage soon became extremely cold.. It did state that there would be gas central heating but this had been disconnected, which was a shame as it provides more evenly distributed warmth. The cottage was clean and well equipped and Club was a nice village.

This was our third visit to Clun.. On the first two occasions we stayed in a B & B but as we now have two dogs we decided that a cottage would be the better option. The cottage was just perfect for us.- everything there that you could possibly need and spotlessly clean. Although we stayed for a week at the end of June we had two very cold evenings so the wood burner was an extra bonus - very snuggly and warm. The town of Clun is very welcoming and the two pubs and the Maltings tea rooms all served very good food at reasonable prices. The White Horse even does take-away fish and chips - what more do you need !!! We had a fabulous stay and will definately be back soon.

We stayed at Marigold Cottage during school holidays and it was blissfully quiet. The cottage is quaint and cosy, and we would return. It was very handy for shops and the pub. Our Labrador really enjoyed the stay as the walks around the castle and village were superb and there were lots of other dog walkers all wanting to stop and chat.

A really lovely place to stay. The cottage was very comfortable and for its size, had very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was very well-equipped and there was an invitation to use as much wood as needed to keep the wood-burning stove going.

We have not been to this area before and we have had a lovely time. We could not fault the cottage and the courtyard was safe for the dogs. Overall FIRST CLASS.
