No mobile phone or internet coverage at property.. No details of walks round local villages or doctor/vet/shop/etc. Scrappy hand scrawled notes on how to deal with changing gas bottles. Comfortable property with walks from the door.

This cottage is expensive for what it offers.. The furniture is uncomfortable, the general standard of fittings is poor. It’s quite a cosy place but should be a bit cheaper. We found the cottage quite grubby, very dusty etc, and had to clean out the log burner before we could use it. It’s an ok place just not good value for money, I’ve stayed in much better at the same cost.

Great cottage in a remote location but with all modern conveniences.. Sitting room is warm and inviting although the wood burning stove was difficult to keep going, chimney needs to be swept regularly. Lovely bathroom with 2 reasonable sized bedrooms. Very private and quiet, we didn’t see a soul in the week we were there. Good to get away from it all.

The cottage was clean and cosy, in a brilliant position for us to enjoy the nearby walks with our dog.. Kitchen would have benefitted from a free cupboard (or shelf) for our weekly provisions, instead we had to clutter the worktops and keep tins etc in the bags we bought them in. Everything else was great! A stairgate on the slippery stairs would be the only thing I would suggest as a necessity, especially as dogs are not allowed upstairs and children could easily slip. A relaxing week, we will definitely be making a return visit.

This is a great cottage in the quiet Suffolk countryside. Yes it could do with some updating but all we needed was there. Dog walking is on the doorstep, the cottage is warm and very cozy. A 20 minute walk gets you to the four horseshoes pub which is a lovely place. Takes dogs and very welcoming. Could be a place that children may not enjoy. More an adults with dog place. Give it a go if you want real countryside and peace.

Garden needed a tidy up.. Dogs wanted to go upstairs. Had to keep front room door shut. Maybe a gate at bottom of stairs.

We are local to the area we stayed here while waiting for service connections to a new home. It is on the Thornham walks location where you can explore woodlands and take your dog. Local attractions include market town Diss Norfolk with the mere. You may like to go to the coast Southwold and Aldeburgh are very select seaside towns with independent shops and cafe's as well as brand names shops. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and there are good local inns for meals out but for a really special meal out book an evening at the Weavers in Diss you will not be dissapointed the food is fabulous and always served hot with a lovely atmosphere

We visited back in 2017 at that time the cottage had a very welcoming feel to it and once the log burner was lit it was very cosy.. The only issue was the sloppy cleaning ... we found dirty washing under the main bed and behind the door in the main bedroom . Surfaces definitely hadn’t been dusted between guests and whilst the kitchens and bathrooms were clean enough the other rooms just needed more time spent on them.. The amount of wood left for the fire was inadequate we ran out half way through the first evening ... That said we did enjoy our stay we took the dogs for lots of walks and visited the coast all of which contributed to a relaxing weekend .

Great location, the cottage had everything we could ask for, was very comfortable and our dogs loved it! Would definitely consider coming back and highly recommend it!! Thanks for a great holiday!
November 2016
Nice area, cottage is as described and very nice ( could do with a bit of diy about the place) However the garden is not enclosed it has holes over the fence and the property next doors pond is very large I wouldn't really call it a pond! When you follow the public footpath you can see they have at least two big holes next door one is at least 20ft deep so I would not recommend this cottage because of its location to people with children or curious dogs at all

We had a very relaxing holiday with our two dogs.. The cottage is set in the middle of the countryside surrounded by walks which was ideal for us. We also visited Thetford Forest which is a short drive away and there are several other places of interest, if we had taken a young family. Attractive cottage, well kept and maintained, with an enclosed garden and log fire, what more could you wish for.

It was a lovely rustic cottage and as described, secluded with only one neighbour. Cockerels in the morning and chickens wandering around as they pleased. And the sound of birds, magical. The cottage was a delight to stay in and was lovely and warm with the wood burner, it felt very homely.

I think this is a case of renting out the property in order to generate income to invest in it rather than the other way round as it is far from the finished article and there are a number of things that, had I known, I would have probably given it a miss and looked elsewhere. Such as, the last thing a really want to see is dead flies everywhere or sticky patches stuck on rotten windows in the dining room and kitchen to attract the flies to their impending doom. The shower was next to useless even after I descaled the shower head with vinegar and whole place ( upstairs especially) was damp and smelt musty which was not surprising due to the amount of condensation. The front room was nice and cozy and once I had cleaned the glass of the wood burner it was nice to sit and watch the fire however the settees are not the most comfortable. Also beware of the dining room chairs as these are all broken and we had to extract a child who had to be pulled out when the seat collapsed. Beware also the wooden decking as it is treacherously slippy and should be avoided at all costs. With regards the bedrooms the double shouldn't really be classed as a double as you can't get in or out from both sides. Perhaps thought should be given to making this a single room and changing the twin to a double..... Although this sounds all negative it is a nice location with pleasant neighbours and nice walks on the doorstep of the property it is just not ready to rent out yet and I would not return until all the work to make it liveable had been completed. I am not a serial moaner and don't expect 5 Star service unless I am paying 5 star prices but I do expect the basic levels of comfort.

The quietness of the place. The wood burning stove.

Very peaceful, we were able to completely shut ourselves away from the world. Gorgeous woodwork throughout the cottage. Had everything we needed.
