A perfect and immaculate holiday cottage. All details thought of and the property has everything you need to make a "home from home" whilst exploring the beautiful area around. The owners are wonderful - Heather even baked us fresh scones and homemade jam on arrival, and provided us with a bread/butter/milk and wine. Highly recommend this place.

Our family of 6 stayed at Little Cow House for the Easter week. We were warmly greeted by Heather and Tom, who made our stay very welcoming. Heather had baked us a delicious Victoria Sandwich cake, which was all gone by the second day! Also bread, milk and chocolates, such a nice gift. The house is immaculate, everything is in working order and the underfloor heating is a massive bonus. There are lots of places of interest local to Chirk, of which the aquaduct is probably our favourite. Amazing views from the property. Thank you Heather and Tom for our lovely stay. We will no doubt be back!

We had an amazing few days Easter 2019 where the weather was better than the Mediterranean ☀️ The Little Cow House is in such a beautiful spot on the Wales/England border.. Well appointed and feels like home Heather & Tom are lovely hosts, make beautiful cakes and we appreciated Heathers suggestion to go and visit the British Iron Works. Incredible! Thoroughly recommended.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Little Cow Cottage. This is a beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, it has everything you need. They have thought of everything, hooks and plugs in the right places. We were there with our family and a couple of friends and it was my husbands birthday and Heather had made a cake and left us a bottle of wine which was sooo kind! It was so cosy and warm and a great base for all the surrounding areas. We will definately return we loved it!

We had a lovely stay at the little cow house.. The cottage itself was spacious, well laid out, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Heather and Tom were great hosts - very warm and friendly and had lots of tips about the local area. The location is spectacular - it is just outside Chirk so you have the feeling of being in the countryside with the convenience of having the village within an easily walkable distance. The train station is also very close by and places like Chester are only a 25 min journey away. We would highly recommend the little cow house and would definitely go back there !

The cottage was clean, comfortable and peaceful.. Its situation made it ideal for exploring the local area, and Chester is just 25 minutes away. Because the Little Cow House is on a non working farm, there is the advantage of rural trnquility without the noise of agricultural machinery. We happened to visit when a neighbour's two mares had recently given birth to 2 foals. Too many hours were spent sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee just watching them :) . Mrs Hughes was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. We can wholeheartedly recommend the cottage for anyone looking to exolplore the English/Welsh borders

The cottage and gardens are lovely and set in a beautiful location.. There are plenty of lovely walks along the river valley and beside the canal and many local places of interest to visit. The wine, bread, spread ,milk and home baked cakes were much appreciated and we were made to feel very welcome. We love this area and hope to be able to visit again.

This place is beautiful and we can't wait to come again! Mr and Mrs Hughes provided cake, sledges, wine, cleaning products, toilet rolls, bread, milk and butter which we couldn't believe and never expected! Thank you so much! The house is luxurious, warm, modern yet traditional, spacious and comfortable. Love the underfloor heating throughout and there are no signs of wear and tear. Not even a loose thread on the bedlinen! Thank you for a wonderful stay in a beautiful setting. Can't wait to come again but next time for longer!

Staying at Little Cow House exceeded our expectations as everything about it was absolutely superb! Chirk is beautiful, the accommodation modern, clean, spacious, warm and cosy and Tom and Heather Hughes, the most fabulous hosts you could wish for! We arrived to find bread, wine, milk and other commodities Inc cleaning products, soap and toilet rolls, ready for us along with a home made cake on the table! When it snowed we were told we could use their grandchildrens sledges and were offered any field of their land to go play on! The house was spotless, no wear or tear, a beautiful finish and all done by the family themselves. We couldn't believe how comfortable we were made to feel! If I had to pick one thing I'd change, I'd ask how to use the underfloor heating as, with it throughout the whole house we did sometimes get too warm, but that's definitely better than being cold so it's certainly not a complaint! We spent 3 nights here and wish we'd booked longer- we will definitely be back!!!

Tom and Heather Hughes were brilliant hosts and both welcomed us on arrival.. They gave us loads of ideas for places to go and things to do; Heather actually gave us one of her home made cakes to take on a picnic. The house itself was immaculate; everything you could want really. The conversion from farm building to holiday cottage has been carefully and tastefully done with great attention to detail. Kitchen was well equipped, bright and airy. The lounge was very comfortable with a double recliner settee which I loved. French doors opened onto a beautiful outdoor area with magnificent views down and across the valley. Beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was quite something with its freestanding bath and simple, tasteful decor. The en suite was more than adequate with an excellent shower cubicle. Tom and Heather are truly lovely people, more like friends really but never intrusive and always helpful. I would recommend this house to any family wanting a very clean, comfortable almost luxurious place to stay and also a great base to tour north Wales.

Spent a week at Little Cow House last week and had a wonderful time. I went with a group of friends as it was my birthday and on our arrival we had a lovely surprise of a homemade birthday cake and a bottle of wine! Plus some groceries. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and the views are stunning. It has absolutely everything you need for a very comfortable stay and a long soak in the huge freestanding bath is a must! We had many long walks from the cottage and the village of Chirk was great for a lovely Indian meal and a few sociables in the Stanton Pub! Would definitely return
