Friendly hosts, good to see this very isolated property is being used.. Approach road is very steep, narrow and fairly rough so drive slowly!

The lodge is cosy and in a beautiful position, the views in this area are breathtaking.. The facilities are good and the bed is very comfy. If you like plenty of walking options and need a place where your dog will have plenty of space to run and be secure whilst in the property, then this is perfect. Myself and my 2 pups loved it so much, we're booked in again for next month!! :)

Peace , tranquil and amazing views.. Great walks and locals are really friendly. Short distance to Hebden Bridge, supermarkets nice cafes and pubs. Just what we needed after a tough few months to distress have a change of scenery and take time to enjoy life. It was lovely to take the dog he really enjoyed himself. He got a little jealous when we paid attention to the horses.:). Thank you Anne & family we would recommend this to our family and friends.

Lovely views and very relaxing, had a lovely stay here away from all of the hussle and bussle from the city.. Was a lovely way to celebrate my birthday there. Only negative was the road going up there, loads of pot holes and very bumpy was lucky I had a big hire car to go there in as my car wouldn't of made it up there.

Knowl Lodge (there is no E on the end) was a delight.. Warm, cosy and clean, with spectacular views out of the lounge and kitchen windows. The enclosed garden was ideal for the dogs. The road up to the house had a few potholes in it but with careful driving this was not a problem. There is a excellent circular walk around the reservoir which is a 5 minute drive, level and not too strenuous, ideal for dog walking. A very quiet and peaceful stay,

The cottage is in a lovely setting high up a single track road with lots of pot holes, so you do need to drive carefully and allow 10-15minutes extra if you are going out somewhere.. However as you were high up the views were fabulous. It was a bit disconcerting drinking brown water from the spring so we did purchase bottles of water even though I am sure it was safe to drink.

The house is cosy, spacious and warm, its very quiet and rural, ideal for hiking and cycling.. Be aware it is at the top of a hill so cycling takes you immediately downhill, coming back is all uphill and a stiff climb. Everything is a car journey away, at the bottom of the hill. The only problem I had was the wifi was poor. I could send and receive emails but Netflix or youtube didn't work. I downloaded 18 seconds of a film in 30 minutes. Apart from that it was ideal. The last mile of the road to the house was very bumpy, i have a standard Audi eatate and it grounded easily unless i drove at less than 5mph. Obviously not the property's fault but be aware of it.

The property is very nice and warm, and the owners are very nice.. The bathroom needs redecorating as the paint is flaking. And there are loads of holes around pipes and skirting boards that really need addressing, particularly behind the bed and in the bathroom. It's very disconcerting wondering what might crawl out of them! The place is remote, which means plenty of peace and quiet, but close enough to town, shops and pubs. The enclosed garden is great for the dog, but please pick up after them as I picked up about 7 bags of other dog's poo! All in all we had a lovely week. Try out the food at the Shoulder of Mutton in Mytholmroyd and the Robin Hood at the weekend - the food is excellent at both.

I loved my stay at Knowle Lodge.. The cottage was well appointed, very cosy and practical to use. The enclosed garden with beautiful views made it perfect for staying with dogs (there are a lot of good walks nearby). We surely will return for another holiday.

This is a lovely cottage right out in the wilds but only a few miles from shops and facilities.. Adjoining the owner’s farmhouse it is clean, comfortable and cosy with a lovely secure garden for relaxing in or playing with the dog. Views are spectacular if visibility allows and the only downside is the single track road leading up there - it would be very awkward if something were coming the other way! Just right for a short break for a single or couple.

The ascent to the top of the hills where the lodge is located was beautiful going through country lanes bordered on both sides with dry stone walls and enchanted woods.. The views from the property are amazing and at night time the glimmering lights of the villages down below and the stars and the moon up in the sky make you want to stay by the old mullion windows and watch out all night. My boys - dogs loved the little cottage and to have their own enclosed garden wasn't just delightful for them it was for me too as my lurcher does tend to go after bunny rabbits. If you want to stay somewhere ultimately relaxing, slow paced with all you need for a comfortable, warm stay this is the place and being in Yorkshire you can only find beauty around you. Last but not least the family are always there if you need anything otherwise they leave you on your own devices to enjoy this place up the hills

This wonderful cottage did not fail to deliver, it was comfortable, warm and had everything you needed for an October holiday.. It is a little remote, but it's one straight road up the hill. The pub at the bottom is really friendly with great food and allows dogs. Highly recommended we would book again.

Anna a great host and very accommodating.. Left us to our own devices, but was always around when needed. Cottage clean and comfortable with fantastic views. Our cats had the best time during the two weeks we were waiting to move into our new home. We would happily return for a relaxing break. Mole & Ian

If you are looking for a out of the way, old country farm house then this is perfect for you. Clean, well equipped, nice garden which our dog enjoyed. Will definitely be staying again when we need to realise and have a break from the rat race :-)

Unlikely to book again as we didnt enjoy the steep ascent and descent especially as there were road closures which meant we had to use an alternative, unmade, rugged and steep road down a bank road..

Had a very warm welcome from the owner. In a beautiful location so long as you like big skies, panoramic views, and don't mind being a tad remote 'at the end of the road'.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The position of the cottage with breath taking views over the moors. Everything in the cottage was to a high standard. The area has lots to offer. Our dogs were made very welcome!

We booked this cottage for a late holiday and were not disappointed. Lovely fixtures and fittings. Cosy fire. Lovely garden for our two dogs who enjoyed their stay! There are many pubs and café in Hebden Bridge and a couple of pubs nearby if you don't want to travel too far. The long and widing road to the cottage was a little arduous but made us giggle with its lumps and bumps! The owners are very friendly and helpful. The view over the moors is lovely and we had some good walks in the area. I can't praise it enough.

What a beautiful place! We had such a lovely weekend at Knowle Lodge. It was so calm and peaceful. In the daytime we had some lovely walks in the surrounding area and snuggled up in front of the log burner in the evening. I ventured out into the dark one night... I've never seen so many stars! Thoroughly enjoyed by myself, my partner and our two dogs. The owners were lovely, friendly and welcoming. We cannot wait to go back.

Private and spacious with lovely furnishings and thoughtful little details - from candles and a bottle of welcome wine to fluffy bedding and great kitchen knives (unusual for holiday rentals!). We loved the unique location, at the top of private road with 360´ views of stunning Yorkshire. Walks right outside the front door and Hebden Bridge with all the cafés, shops and delis you could need a short drive away. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Our babies loved the private garden and especially Bubbles the horse and Ginger the cat, not to mention the awesome toys left for them to play with! We would highly recommend for couples and small families (actually, we´ll be booking for next time without the kids so we can try the lovely looking pubs at the bottom of the lane). Thank you!

The cottage was beautifully appointed with the most wonderful views over Yorkshire. It was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully stocked with high quality items. We also received a wonderful warm welcome from the owners and they were most helpful in guiding us to places in the surrounding area.
