Area Bridgnorth is an interesting market town of two distinct halves separated by a red sandtone ridge - The High Town and the Low Town. The two halves are linked by meandering streets and steep steps, and the sheer funicular railway allows visitors to glimpse "the finest view in all my kingdom", as Charles I put it. There is a lively Saturday market which showcases the local fayre, and the River Severn which flows beneath the precipitous castle ruins offers many lovely walks. The steam and diesel engines of the Severn Valley Railway run between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster through pretty country stations. Bridgnorth is surrounded by an abundance of country parks, historic houses, interesting museums and chocolate box Shropshire villages, and also affords ease of access to the 10 museums of Ironbridge Gorge and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford. The vibrant destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton are within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers its visitor superb walking and cycling opportunities.
Region A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Location- Near Bridgenorth which is a pretty town.. The actual area where you stay is lovely and quiet.
The accommodation has a cosy warm living room. Well equipped kitchen.
Location to Astbury falls on google maps is correct
Location is not great for walking around- country roads with no pavements but if you are careful there are nice places near eg a little reservoir less than 10 min walk away with a bird watching hut. (there is a car park too)
Small bedrooms. Immediate vicinity has no shops. Bring extra toilet roll if you are staying for a while.

Wow, what can I say.. The lodge we stayed in was absolutely stunning. There were 5 of us, and we all commented on how gorgeous and peaceful it was.
It was very clean, had lots of info on different things in the welcome folder and was very homely.
Beds were comfy and we had everything we needed.
The only suggestion I would make is to get WIFI :)
Would recommend to everyone and will definitely be back.
Thank you :)

We had hoped to be able to walk to pub and shop -1mile.. this was not possible as road very busy, no footpaths; no shop noticed anywhere.
Directions incorrect so difficult to find property had to ask at Golf club, which was where directions sent you!! need to turn right for Astbury not Astbury Hall.
Site inhospitable due to exteme slope of entrance where you waited for exit gate to open. Also no where to walk around on site as everywhere appeared to be private, even the grass!!!

I went to Kingfisher lodge with my mum & Sister for my sisters birthday.. We found the cabin to be comfortable & homely. The private road means no noise from traffic or people. The place was peaceful & relaxing from start to finish. Historic & beautifully maintained Bridgenorth is a short 10min drive with all you could wish for. The locals are lovely, friendly & helpful & with lots of nearby places to visit I would recommend this cabin & area without hesitation. In fact my mum & sister have already asked if we can book again next year as they loved not only the cabin but the place too & didn't have enough time to see all they wanted to.

The lodge was as described however the level of cleanliness was not up to standard, felt cold and damp when we arrived it seemed the lodge hadn't been used or aired for quite a while.. Dining and living room furniture was tatty and badly in need of replacement, this was not the usual standard we have come to expect from Sykes cottages.
