Keepers Cottage is a lovely detached cottage situated in the village of Backbarrow just one mile from Newby Bridge in the Lake District. The cottage can sleep six in two king-size double bedrooms and one twin all of which are en-suite together with ground floor cloakroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and woodburner. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a private enclosed patio and garden with hot tub, furniture and barbecue. Keepers Cottage has fantastic views and is a lovely base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Three bedrooms with Smart TV: 1 x king-size double with en-suite freestanding bath, hand-held shower, separate shower, twin basins and WC, 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin with en-suite shower, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Kitchen. Utility. Sitting room with dining area and woodburner.

Area
The small village of Backbarrow sits by the banks of the River Leven and the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The famous Haverthwaite Steam Railway runs close by the village between Haverthwaite and Lakeside. Enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or visit the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Keepers Cottage is a 10 out of 10 holiday property, immaculately maintained by the owners.. Great care had been taken to provide every comfort we might need during our stay. The welcome pack and chilled Prosecco in the fridge were a welcome find! The views from the patio and hot tub are amazing, we had the perfect family holiday.

Absolutely superb, everything was spotlessly clean, so many extras like a hamper of artisan bread, eggs, Prosecco, could see miles of views from the Hot tub.. Plenty of good walks from the cottage, lovely quiet area but also near some fantastic pubs with ale & excellent food. Also the cottage had a very well equipped kitchen so we cooked and ate on the veranda...the views are so stunning you won’t want to go out every evening!

What an absolutely stunning property in a beautifully tranquil location.. We loved our stay at keepers cottage and Lindsay and Andrew couldn’t have done more for us. My mums birthday trip away was everything we hoped it would be and more. Close enough to pubs, activities including the steam railway and country walks but far enough away that you could just close the door on the world. Absolutely perfect. Thank you for renting our your beautiful cottage - it was out of this world.

The property was absolutely stunning sat in beautiful landscape.. The view from the hot tub was amazing. The awful weather didn't stop us enjoying the hot tub and the logburning fire soon warmed us up after jumping out back into the house. I loved the heated floors and didn't put my slippers on once. The gorgeous food hamper was a lovely touch. Cartmel is only a 10 min drive away with some lovely pubs and a fab wineshop with a winesnug attached to it for a few cheeky glasses. You've also got the option of picking your own cheese board from the cheese shop next door and taking it into the snug. We had a fab weekend in an amazing cottage and wpuld definitely recommend it to anyone.

Keepers Cottage was absolutely beautiful, everything about it was just perfect.. The cottage has everything you could need and was finished to a really high standard. The view were to die for especially when sat in the hot tub.

We had an excellent holiday, the accommodation was excellent and cleanliness standard was very high.. Hot tub was lovely & the views from it were fantastic. We stayed between Christmas & new year and we had a lovely Christmas tree in the living area which was such a nice touch. Also some lovely bread and jams were there on our arrival along with a bottle of champagne in the fridge!

Lovely place with great views, weather was a drought but didn’t stop up getting in the hot tub.. lovely and warm inside especially with the log fire. would definitely recommend can’t wait to go again.

Booked this as a surprise for my hubbys 50th and wow it did not disappoint,beautiful property and spotlessly clean, everything provided from dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, a lovely welcome pack of jams,milk,butter, bread and so much more including prosseco!the owners even came around on my husband's birthday and brought a card and red wine! Such a lovely touch, the hot tub was amazing and used daily, the views were absolutely stunning and added bonus of a week of wall to wall sunshine, I would def recommend this property.

Keepers Cottage had everything we needed for a superb upmarket self catering holiday in a stunning setting.. They provided every possible thing, (including a muddler for the gin!). The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated throughout. The hot tub on the patio had the most fantastic view, there was also plenty of outdoor furniture allowing for eating or just relaxing. Would definitely recommend!

Where do I start, beautiful property and very high standard, extremely well equipped, lovely welcome pack including prosseco! !!! Views were breathtaking, this was booked for my husband's 50th and the owners very kindly brought him a card and wine, lovely touch, hot tub was amazing and to top it off wall to wall sunshine. Will def be recommending this property and hopefully will be back.

Keeper's cottage is beautifully designed as are the other cottages in keeping with the original Estate development.. Everything was to a very high standard, including the cleanliness.We appreciated being able to walk from the cottage and walked to Cartmel and back! There are some lovely places to visit in the area and we had family staying at Lakeside Village which was really convenient. We have stayed in many self-catering properties over the years. Customers expect higher standards these days as it's not always the cheapest option, and Keeper's Cottage is at the top of our list. so thankyou to Sykes for offering a high standard of property to let.

The cottage was beautiful, comfortable, very clean and the facilities available were fantastic, a home away from home.. The owners were every welcoming, provided a lovely welcome pack when we arrived which was greatly appreciated and the hot tub was superb with the views. An absolute treasure of a find and a perfect base for exploring the lakes.

Beautiful, luxury cottage with stunning views.. Lots of little unexpected extras - Prosecco, bread, milk, eggs, jams and biscuits left for us. Kitchen supplies eg tin foil. tomato sauce etc, also in the cupboards so we needn't have bought the kitchen sink with us! Have marked down facilities because of: Difficult to use the hob - maybe the pans weren't for induction? Took a long time to cook anything. Fire sensor directly about the grill in the kitchen which meant it went off constantly while grilling! Problem with the radiators in bedrooms 1 and 2 - very bad hammering sound day and night. Reported to owner as probably need draining. Owner kind and attentive. An excellent stay overall. Particularly enjoyed the use of the hot tub.

What a truly beautiful cottage in a stunning location.. It was above and beyond what we expected. Lyndsey the host was incredible, she would respond to any queries straight away. The hot tub was gorgeous overlooking the most beautiful of views. There was every amenity possible available at our disposal.The rooms were extremely clean and beautifully decorated. What a wonderful place to visit. Thank you so much for having us. This is now going to be our spot for our yearly girls weekend away. Expect to have us again next year :).

If you like top-notch self catering holiday cottages you will love Keeper's Cottage. The property is furnished and equipped to a very high standard throughout and is spotlessly clean. The downstairs area is spacious, light and warm with a stunning open view from the front. You can enjoy this whilst sitting in the hot tub on the patio, or stay inside and enjoy the ambience of the woodburner. The kitchen is brand new and well equipped. The 2 king-size bed-rooms are characterful (high wooden beams), and are as comfortable as an excellent hotel. The third bedroom is smaller with 2 single beds. All 3 en suite bathrooms are brand new and top quality. The location is very peaceful - no contact with the other holiday properties nearby. Access to southern Lakeland is very easy. We were delighted by Keeper's Cottage.
