Really well equipped cottage, great base for a walking holiday.. The only slight downside is that there is no garden ,and if like us you have a dog, there is at least a 5 minute walk to the local park for them to go to the toilet, not great last thing at night,or first thing in the morning.

The cottage was as it was described, very comfortable , clean and ideally situated for us.. Close to all local amenities and on site parking was an advantage. Only slight disappointment was in regards supplies. We had one toilet roll for two people for a week. We had a third of a kitchen roll and a small amount of washing up liquid. We didn’t have any soap powder. With other cottages there has always been an adequate supply of such items, not sure if that’s what we should expect. That said it didn’t spoil our holiday and have already booked another holiday for 2019 with Sykes Cottages.

I loved the fact that as well as being lovely and clean, it was fantastically equipped.. There were even baking tins and scales - I could have baked a cake if I'd had time. We had our own parking, it was within walking distance of the town, and was quiet and peaceful. The furnishings were comfortable and clean and the bedroom was lovely. It was great to come 'home' to at the end of a day on the fells. The lobby had shelves for our boots & rucksacks and there was a radiator too, so that our things dried, without cluttering the rest of the house up.

Beautiful setting ,just outside Ambleside ,a two minute easy walk into the town centre and a ten minute walk to the banks of Windermere.. The house has private parking in the courtyard with plenty of room to load unload. The House is plenty big enough for a couple and two dogs ,perfect . Everything you require is included ,the bedroom is fantastic ,a massive Television ,lovely welcoming double bed and very warm and cosy. We had a fantastic break.

The cottage is a lovely place to stay to use as a base for traveling around the lakes it was in a nice area of town, very quiet but with within very easy reach of all the shops, bars and cafes.. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

Cottage was lovely, clean and warm and we would definitely stay there again.. My only slight issue was the note that was left to strip the bed linen on departure. I think it is reasonable to ask visitors to leave the cottage clean and tidy but it is unreasonable to expect them to have to do everything as you would expect the property to be re-cleaned thoroughly before the next guests arrive. There are hotels that charge less money and you would not be expected to do that for them.

This cottage is in a quiet courtyard just 2 minutes walk to the town centre. It has the added bonus of its own parking space. The cottage itself is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It makes an excellent base to explore the southern lakes. We did notice a slight doggy smell but only in the hallway - no problem whatsoever for us.

A well- equipped cottage ideally situated in Ambleside. It was handy for walking & for eating out & the parking space was a real benefit. The downside was that the downstairs room was very gloomy & unwelcoming & unfortunately smelt strongly of dog. The carpet & furniture need shampooing as the smell didn't go after spraying air-freshener. Also, there wasn't anywhere pleasant to sit outside to escape the doggy smell!

What a great little find this was. This cottage is in the perfect location, right in the centre but far enough away from the noise of ambleside , the cottage itself has everything you would need, small little drying room for your soggy walking gear washing machine wifi and a perfectly stocked kitchen . The cottage has a large bedroom with different mood lighting and a good bathroom with large bath and overhead shower ,with the added benefit of on site parking and closeness to the bus stop this is a little gem of a cottage perfect for that walking weekend in the lakes

Clear and easy to follow directions brought us to the delights of Juniper Cottage and the bonus of a specific parking space right outside the door. The cottage was clean and very well laid out and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We had taken our dog with us and there was a special rug to put down for him too. They was a great selection of Dvds, books and games and maps and information of the local area. Everything had been thought of. We particularly liked having a washer/drier and the kitchen was very well appointed and had everything in it you could need. It isn't a huge cottage but neither did it feel cramped at all and for a couple it was perfect. You didn't get the feeling at all that it had been filled with unwanted furniture or kitchen equipment from someone's main home as you can sometimes get in self catering places. Ambleside has just about everything you need on a daily basis with plenty of shops and eating out options and is very pleasant for a stroll around in the evening. As the whole courtyard the cottage is in is made up of holiday lettings there was no awkwardness of getting under the feet of locals, but you were still in the midst of the local town which was nice. The only slight point would be that the bathroom could do with an update at some point as it looks a little bit tired in places (especially the ceiling) and the shower isn't the most powerful in the world. But the bathtub is huge, the hot water plentiful and that is very welcome after a day on the fells. The bed was comfortable, but the lighting in the bedroom is quite dim especially compared to downstairs and the "mood lighting" didn't work. The bed had been made up but the bottom sheet was very creased and hadn't been put on properly and the towels provided were a bit thin. Overall though we were delighted with our choice and had a very enjoyable stay and will undoubtedly be back in the future.

The cottage was very well resourced and comfortable. It is sited very close to the centre of ambleside but away from the crowds. Everything you needed was in the cottage, TV, DVD, Music system, internet access (Wi-Fi)and all of the necessary equipment - washer/drier, dishwasher, microwave etc.

We found the cottage very clean and well equipped for all our needs. The cottage was in an excellent location within easy access to lots of restaurants and pubs also near the bus stop. We liked the fact that there was a number of walks to choose from that started from ambleside. What we liked least was the cottage was a little dark downstairs, you needed the lights on most of the time.

Everything you need from a weekend cottage. Great location a couple of mins walk to the main town and off street parking which was great as other stays we have done in ambleside you have to use the public car parks. Will definitely look it up again when we next visit ambleside.

Juniper cottage is a traditional stone built cottage that was a cosy and warm place to stay at whilst exploring the Lake District. The cottage was clean and had everything that you would need especially a washer/dryer for rain soaked clothes, a dish washer and there was WiFi provided. The location was spot on, it was a short walk into the center of ambelside and also to lake windermere where you can buy a freedom of the lake ticket and spend the whole day hoping on and off at ports around the lake. The cottage was very dog friendly and there were some pubs and cafes that allowed dogs in. I will definitely be returning to Juniper cottage with my dog.

We spent a lovely week in this cottage. It is well equipped to cook meals and it is really clean. The only caveat we have is the heating. It was a rather cold week and the electric storage heating and fan heater struggled to warm the place up after coming home from walks in the freezing cold. But this should not be a problem in warmer months.

We rented Juniper Cottage last thing on Friday night before being due to go on holiday the first day, and how pleased we were. Juniper is a lovely little cottage an so well appointed with everything you could possibly want and so well thought out for a holiday in the Lakes District with little things like coat hooks and boot racks in the small entrance hall, so useful to hang a wet coat and take off muddy boots before going in the living area. Also the cottage is well placed near to the town centre with a private parking space where your car is safe off the road. We would certainly stay there again if required.

Being visitors to The Lake District for many years, this year we decided to stay in the centre of ambleside. We couldn't have chosen a better cottage or a better location. The cottage was everything you would expect - clean and well equipped. We were close to the town centre but also close to a couple of parks so we could take our dogs for an early morning / late evening run around (walking in the hills all day wasn't enough for them!!). Brilliant cottage, brilliant location, brilliant holiday. The only downside was that there was no back garden, but hey, we worked round that.

We booked the cottage on line with no problems. We found the cottage easily from the directions given. It was clean, cosy and comfortable with everything we could possibly need. It was centrally located in the town so everywhere was easily accessible. We loved the bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting area comfortable.

Cottage was in an ideal location for both the local town and touring the Lake District. It was clean, comfortable and included all the necessary items although we did not make use of the cooker, dishwasher, freezer and only used washer/dryer once. There were many extras which we did not personally need but nice to see they were available for others to use eg iron, brolly, medical box,dog items, travel cot etc. Nice idea having a variety of books, maps, Dvd's games too. A real home from home. Our only gripes really were 1.lack of towels. We only had one bath and hand towel each for the whole week.Had we known this we would have taken extras ourselves. 2.door lock was stiff and on occasions was difficult to lock/unlock 3. had a chipped drinking glass in cupboard..not a problem as plenty more but nowhere to record we had found a damaged item and could look as if we had done it.

The cottage is comfortably furnished and well equipped. Our only quibble was an almost unusable tin opener. The level of electric lighting was amazing - almost over the top - and compensated for the lack of natural light in the living room. It was good to have a dishwasher, unusual in 1 bedroom properties. Although heating is by storage heaters, it was very warm. As advertised, the bedroom is spacious and well equipped. Good porch for muddy boots etc.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Within easy walk of all facilities in ambleside. only downside was that the living area did not get a lot of natural light and there was no enclosed garden area for the dogs. But we would happily stay again because it made for a very relaxing stay in a lovely part of the lake district.
