Area
Whitby is at the mouth of the River Esk and is bordered by the North York Moors National Park. As well as its sandy beach, this fishing port provides a wealth of first-class amenities, a stunning abbey and the popular Captain Cook Memorial Museum. To experience a taste of some other renowned coastal resorts, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough are both within driving distance. The North York Moors are perfect for walkers and cyclists whilst the market town of Pickering offers something different.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

From start to finish our host Charmaine was everything you would want from an owner. Friendly and professional. She let me know when the cottage was ready as we were only traveling from Thornwick so 1pm it was done and ready for us. Cottage was spotless, good quality fittings and furnature, nice welcome bottle of wine, biscuits, beverages and milk . The cottage being upside down gives you a lovely view over the harbour to Parkol and across to the Abbey. There is no better view of the steam trains. Down stairs the double bedroom has a door opening to a lovely patio with table and chairs and a small grassed area. Twin room and beautiful bathroom, anti slip mat provided. Good parking area, a bay for no 3 and 4 cottage, we had a mobility scooter which we were able to leave up behind our car with plenty of room. It takes about 5, 7 mins walk on the flat to the station square by road but you can also cross over the line into the carpark by the end cottage and walk down coming out by the Co op supermarket. The Lucky House chinese takaway is very good nearly opposite the end of the road. Also Royal fish an chip restaurant and takaway this end of Baxter gate. The Railway Chippy also delivers. I would recomend Hudson Cottage, it is in a lovely position being near to town but far enough away for quete times. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about this property.
