Visit Muncaster Castle and Gardens while you are in Ravenglass. For gentle walks from home, stroll beside the River Esk. Serious hill walkers and climbers in the party might like to attempt Scafell Pike, England s highest peak, 5 miles away on foot or 12.5 miles by car then 0.5 miles on foot. Make your way into the house via a rear porch, with useful utility room, providing room for taking off boots and shoes and towelling down damp dogs; find a freezer in here too. Take a few steps up into the generous kitchen/diner, which has an AGA but is also equipped with two sets of induction hobs, plus a fan oven/microwave combi and dishwasher. Discover this room leads into a useful pantry. Prepare hearty feasts in the kitchen then settle on the sofa in here to watch TV while your dishes are roasting.
