Area
Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust, including the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Honeysuckle cottage never disappoints.. Amazing location in relation to the beach and the coast path. The cottage is well equipped with all home comforts provided. We have stayed at Honeysuckle many times now and will continue to do so as we always have a wonderful time.

Our only concern is we were cold.. For us it was quite an issue. We were unable to and had been asked not to change the heating timer. The stand alone heater did not give out enough heat. Some cobwebs on arrival and the stair carpet needed a clean as it was stained.

Honeysuckle is a cosy cottage.. Beautifully warm and with excellent kitchen facilities. It was the perfect base to walk the South West Coast Path with two dogs! Gorran Haven is not the place for a glamorous beach holiday, but is exactly that - a Cornish haven away from the main stream tourist attractions, from which to imbibe the stunning, dramatic and sultry Cornish coastline. Wonderful village shop and first class fish and chip shop. All we needed for an active, restful autumn getaway! Definitely hope to return!

If you are looking for a comfortable cottage in an idyllic location then Honeysuckle may be what you are looking for. If you want night life then it isn't. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities required. Would definitely book again.

This was our second visit to Honeysuckle Cottage in three years and we were not disappointed in any way.. A point to raise which may help others in the future: we were a party of four adults and ended up with a fair amount of recyclable waste. However there appeared to be no obvious means or information of how to dispose of this in an eco friendly way.

me and my wife booked this cottage then we looked at the review on trip advisor showing only one star . so we was quite concerned however everything was perfect the cottage was clean and tidy and just painted, and great location as its only a minute walk to the beach we had an amazing time the porch did smell a bit of damp but that did not affect the cottage in any way but we did leave our damp shoes there as i am sure everyone does i would be happy to go aback again as its a very nice cottage and area to spend time with your family

We are not regular contributors to Trip Advisor reviews but felt compelled to report our recent experience at Honeysuckle Cottage. We decided to return to Honeysuckle cottage where we had happily stayed many times over the last 25 years. Wow! What a shock! The whole place on the outside looked very tired and poorly maintained. This was just the start of our disappointment. On entering the cottage we were immediately hit by a pungent, stale, musty odour. The whole place felt damp . We were told that the cottage had not been occupied for some months but we didn’t expect it to be in this condition. We immediately opened all the windows to try to reduce the odour but to no avail. We were then further horrified to find that the whole cottage was in dire need of a good clean. The kitchen area was filthy. Grease was evident everywhere. The cooker extraction fan was caked in stale grease. Some of the cooking equipment had seen better days. The bathroom was disgusting with dirty , corroding fittings especially around the toilet area. The towels and bedding were disappointing to say the least!. The accumulation of dust on light fittings, skirting boards and almost all horizontal surfaces gave an unhealthy feeling to the interior, not conducive to a relaxing holiday! We decided not to unpack all of our suitcases because the persistent musty smell did not go away for the entire stay. In fact when we returned home the musty smell came with us and all of our clothes, worn or not had to be laundered. We did not enjoy our stay which was a shame as we had many happy holidays under previous owners. On returning home we received a customer feedback request from the letting agents and received a follow up call the next day .However, both the agents and the owners referred to ‘ the small print’, stating we should have reported the issues at the time so they could have been given the opportunity to rectify them. However it was difficult to see how the whole cottage could have been brought up to an acceptable standard within the week we were there. In any case it should not be up to paying guests to report such basic and obvious issues. We feel the property should never have been let in this condition, irrespective of previous occupancy. We will not be returning to this property again. A very unpleasant experience!!

We have had a lovely week.. The cottage was as we expected. One comment, I would have liked to recycle my rubbish but there was no instruction about how to do it.

The person letting the cottage out to us contacted us in plenty of time with extra details on how to gwt to the cottage plus how to contact them if we needed to and what to do to collect the keys.. All instructions where clear and easy to follow. The cottage was a lovely little place perfect for 4 adults very close to the beach and local shop. Everyone in the little village was warm and welcoming would easily go back.

Lovely warm cosy cottage with nearly everything we needed.. Guide books and maps in the cottage were appreciated. Excellent wifi signal...Well positioned for the gorgeous beaches nearby and hilltop walks. Pretty and friendly village, one bar only in the nearby hotel which had a lovely terrace with fantastic views of the sea. Outside area of the cottage is a little sun trap.

This is a lovely cottage and well placed for touring Cornwall.. With a dog friendly beach just a stroll away and with the addition of off road parking I would recommend this and would not hesitate to stay again.
