Located 14 miles from Wexford town and 12 miles from the international ferry port of Rosslare, Kilmore Quay is a tiny fishing community in the southeast portion of County Wexford. In addition to its well-known whitewashed thatched cottages and cutting-edge marina, Kilmore Quay is also a renowned angling centre, with a plethora of fish of many different species—as seen by the annual seafood festival held there in July. Dive into "the cemetery of a thousand ships" between Hook Head and Carnsore Point—the perfect site for some underwater exploration. Ballyteigue, located just outside of the hamlet, is home to some of the best sand dunes in the south-east of the country and is a short distance from the resort's sandy beaches. There is no way you can visit the British Isles without paying a visit to Great Saltee Island and its world-renowned bird sanctuary.
